From Gritted teeth and Jaw ache

 

We were God's enemies, but he made us his friends through the death of his Son. Now that we are God's friends, how much more will we be saved by Christ's life! Romans 5.10

This has at least 3 deeper and deeper meanings .

Our inner person is completely saved by the work of the Cross.

As God is both converting the rest of our soul and using us to take down the enemy on this earth ....we experience outer deliverances that should never happen humanly ....which equate to the class of mad things the Israelites went through ....like walls of the RedSea

Going into a land of Rephaim Gibborim giant tribes , Nephilim offshoots .

Esther stopping the complete annhilation of the Jews by Haman. 

But the deepest ' being saved ' isnt even the most spectacular ....its being saved daily by Christ in us as us as He walks us completely off the Genesis 3 platform into the life of Flow which is Galatians 2.20. His life becomes stronger and stronger in us as we believe UPON HIS LIFE .

What must we do to be doing the work of God .

Believe in God and in or upon the One He sent .

We are saved by His actual life .

This is the spontaneity that takes us beyond the gritting of teeth and overseriousness that probably has more to do with trying to make our independent godhood work like Satan's wrath State .

Part of being saved from gritted teeth that only causes jaw damage .....is detaching and laughing .

Seeing the victory on our insides tears us away from 6000 years of independent culture of trying  like a Dalek to make God's Life work for Him .

He has already ' got ' this . 

He has been living His life quite a while so He is quite good at it .

Thought for the day

The sermon yesterday was on the vine-branch in John 15. The preacher pointed out that the word abide is used eleven times in the passage. It can sound like something we do, as if spiritual disciplines cause us to abide. 

It’s also true, though, that the word abide can be translated remain. I like that because it communicates that as those belonging to Christ, we are already in him. So the point becomes remaining, which means not to break one’s self off from the vine. 

Since Jesus used an illustration from nature, let’s reason from that. Branches don’t get separated and then reattached. They are connected in a oneness, which means that the normal and natural state of the branch is its oneness with the vine. 

Jesus is simply saying that when we are in him, we are one with him, and his life flows from vine to branch, producing fruit on the branch. That is the normal state of a branch. To see that is to wake up from the lie of separation.

What then do we make of spiritual disciplines such as prayer and scripture meditation? Are they intended to attach us to the vine? No, they are normal, natural functions of a healthy branch.
