TEF8 - From a Word to a Lamb by Daniel Yordy

The Bible is like the human body. It is complex, with many differing parts great and small. Sometimes it's hard to tell how those differing parts are even part of the same thing. Yet in the end, just as the body is one, so the Bible is one seamless whole. However, just like the blind men of Hindustan, each trying to define the whole by the little part he stumbled upon, so most read the Bible.

The blind men of Hindustan never connected with the reality that the elephant is a living animal, thus all the parts can be known only in reference to that living animal. In the same way, most who read the Bible do not know that they are reading the Lord Jesus Christ and He revealed in us, His body. They do not know that the whole point of everything is the Word become a Lamb and living in us.

The whole point of everything, including the presence of the accuser, is the glory of the word God speaks, the Always-Speaking of God. The Word God is always speaking has a name, we call Him Jesus.

Now, in most people's minds, “glorifying Jesus” has a different meaning that that held in God's mind. Most people imagine a solitary image, high above all, before whom we peons bow. You can see that this image is Lucifer's image of himself. But most Christians know also that Jesus is something other than that image, yet they cannot lose the image, so they mix the Jesus they know with the self-image of a deluded angel.

Therefore, when John writes about the Lamb in his gospel, most see the Jesus we know, living in our hearts. But when John writes about the Lamb in his vision, most see the other thing, the exalted solitary image, high above all. Thus everything related to that image in Revelation, especially the “two witnesses,” must be of similar “deified” exaltation, high above us mere fleshy mortals.

They read the Word just like the blind men of Hindustan, as a series of chopped up and unrelated things. They do not have the key that unlocks to them the body of God.

I want to give, here, a series of verses, or even short statements, found through the Bible. I want you to consider them carefully, including the order in which they appear, as they are a seamless whole.

Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good. Genesis 1 – the beginning of everything through the Speaking of God.

“Did God indeed say?” Genesis 3 – the entrance of the accuser.

The Lord your God will raise up for you a Prophet like me from your midst, from your brethren. Him you shall hear. Deuteronomy 18 – Moses, the only command the Old Covenant requires, the only word that counts.

You have magnified Your word above all Your name. Psalm 138 – The singing of David

Does not wisdom cry out, and understanding lift up her voice? . . .She cries out by the gates. . . “To you, O men, I call, and my voice is to the sons of men. . . Blessed is the man who listens to me, watching daily at my gates. . . For whoever finds me finds life, and obtains favor from the Lord.” Proverbs 8 – the wisdom of Solomon

For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, and do not return there, but water the earth, and make it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; it shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it. Isaiah 55 – the seeing of Isaiah

And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger. Luke 2 – the Word entering His creation in weakness.

The seed is the word of God. Luke 8 – Jesus, explaining one nature of the Word.

When the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth? Luke 18 – Jesus, asking the greatest question in God's heart.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God – And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory – Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world! John 1 – John, showing us the Word from the beginning becoming the Lamb, a second nature of the Word.

Unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain. John 12 – Jesus, giving us the most staggering reality of the Word, that One becomes many, the Word itself births the faith that receives it.

I spoke openly to the world. – You say rightly that I am a king. For this cause I was born, and for this cause I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice. John 18 – Jesus, before His accusers.

But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth. Acts 1 – Jesus, becoming the Word in many.

For as the body is one and has many members, but all the members of that one body, being many, are one body, so also is Christ. 1 Corinthians 12 – Paul, giving another picture of the Word becoming many.

God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His Son. Hebrews 1 – the one Word of the Old, through which all the Old must pass.

And I looked, and behold, in the midst of the throne. . . stood a Lamb as though it had been slain. . . thousands of thousands, saying with a loud voice: “Worthy is the Lamb who was slain to receive power and riches and wisdom, and strength and honor and glory and blessing!” Revelation 5 – John, seeing the same Lamb exalted.

And I will give to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy one thousand two hundred and sixty days, clothed in sackcloth. Revelation 11 – the Word that forms Christ in the many and that sets creation free.

And the dragon stood before the woman who was ready to give birth, to devour her Child as soon as it was born. She bore a male Child who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron. And her Child was caught up to God and His throne. Revelation 12 – the many having become one, birthed before the accuser.

These are the ones who follow the Lamb wherever He goes. These were redeemed from among men, being firstfruits to God and to the Lamb. Revelation 14 – The many together as one.

These will make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them, for He is Lord of lords and King of kings; and those who are with Him are called, chosen, and faithful. Revelation 17 – the whole point of everything, the singularity, the triumph of Almighty God.

There is just something in God that gets a real kick out of defeating the accuser by His Word alone, revealed through weakness in many.

Do you see how the Great Story of God just ties everything together? The book of Revelation could not possibly be known any other way. It is an essential element in a seamless whole; it is the capstone, the climax of the story.

Now, the Word of Christ which we speak is this same Word woven through every one of these verses. You can see, then, the incredible importance to the entire purpose of God that is our speaking of Christ.

And I (the Word God speaks from the beginning having become the Lamb) give (that's everything, nothing in God or in the universe is withheld) to My two witnesses (that's us, the Word having become many), and they shall prophesy (that's us, birthing the new heavens and earth, setting creation free).

I have made this statement many times: The whole point of everything is the Word God speaks, a woman in travail, and the face of the serpent. Here is another way of saying that same thing: The whole point of everything is the Word God speaks, declared as many in weakness, defeating all opposition.

This is what God has always had up His sleeve.

Now, look at what John saw in Revelation 5. Remember that this is a vision, which is the symbolic language of God. Thousands of thousands, saying with a loud voice: “Worthy is the Lamb.” This is a symbol of the most valuable thing to God in all creation except the Word that He speaks. Look at the phrase: “a woman in travail in the face of the serpent.” Look at the phrase: “declared as many in weakness defeating all opposition.”

There is one word in the Bible that these things define – faith.

The exaltation of the Lamb is the audacity of faith against all opposition. When John saw the Lamb exalted above all, he was seeing you and I, in utter weakness, in utter inability and impossibility, speaking Christ our only life with all confidence and joy.

There is no greater honor of the Lamb who fills our hearts than that.

Those who “honor” the Lamb by putting Him high above on a pedestal, do not honor Him at all, because they do not believe all that He speaks. They do not make Christ, the Word God is always speaking, personal in them.

When you and I make the Word God speaks, Christ, our very and only life, Christ as us, by the declaration of our mouth (witness) against all opposition, we ARE the firstfruits, we are the thousands, we are the body of Christ.

We are God revealed. We are human.

The Word is that which births; the Lamb is that which carries. The Word births Christ inside of us; the Lamb carries us through all things to the Father. By the Word, we are transformed into the image of Christ, by the Lamb, we no longer worry (unbelief) about “measuring up” or “getting it right.”

You know, I have seen this over and over in my own experience. The very thought of obligation or “making it” or “falling short” of God and “missing out,” produces only one thing in me; it causes me to pull back from confidence in God, to withdraw my heart from singing inside of Him. In complete contrast, my continual, utter sinking into the Lamb carrying me, Christ as me, has the opposite effect. As I live rejoicing in the expression of the Lord Jesus that I find myself to be, giving thanks for all things God allows against my way, the joy of His word transforming me billows up in continual expectation.

Notice that it is the Lamb who conquers the Beast, and that He does so through our testimony.

Now, I say that obligation produces “only one thing in me.” That's just me. Most people are quite zealous about obligation producing more than their heart drawing away from confidence in God. Most people insist on doing something about their “problem.”

ALL desire to “measure up” comes from a testimony as well, a witness, a claim. That claim is that the one who needs to “measure up” in fact does not. We must understand that claim and its true source. The idea that I, as I find myself to be right now, am not sufficient, do not “measure up,” have some lack, something wrong, some contrary propensity, that idea comes from ME. It is the rebellion of Adam, the cry of self. “I deserve better than what I am in my makeup, God. I don't like the way You made me.”

Here is an absolute law. I do not find my true self, as Jesus said, by getting rid of my false self. That approach is self-evidently false. The very act of “getting rid of a false self” establishes me as the prevailing self in my life. In complete contrast, as I sink utterly (surrender, repent) into the Lamb carrying all that I am, as I rejoice in the way God made me as I find myself to be right now, that I am simply an expression of Christ Himself, then I know my true self. And in knowing my true self, the false self just fades into oblivion, sort of like what happens to darkness when you flip on the light switch.

Now, I'm going back and forth in my own mind between two verses. Let me bring them in here.

And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death. Revelation 12:11

For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted to the righteousness of God. For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes. Romans 10:3-4

Revelation 12:11 is the most important verse in Revelation; by understanding it, we expand it to include in itself everything else in John's vision. In my last letter I called Romans 10:3-4 the most important negative verse in the Bible.

But I also want to bring in a little blip by Fred Pruitt that came into my in-box yesterday, before I continue drawing my thoughts together.

~~~
So – Evil is the absence of God? By Fred Pruitt
What I had trouble with from the beginning reading that, was the "absence of God." I could not fathom it.
And yet the more I let it sit there, it began to occur to me that even though there can really never be, anywhere, anytime, any place, an absence of God, yet to a creature, in its own perception, there may be an absence of God by the will of the creature. Of course by creature I am meaning angels or human beings.
If I had to make such a definition, I would be more specific and say that evil is a denial of God, a refusal of God, and is involved in will. I mean really that the only place evil can occur is in the will of the creature that denies God by breaking off its will from God in order to have and assert that it has its "own will." THAT is evil. And from the state of that creature, God appears to be absent, and ultimately is absent to that will that continues in denial, even though we know He is All in all -- this creature that has broken itself off from Him cannot know it, however, because it is consumed with itself.
~~~

One could also say that “evil” that creates this false thing called “self” is the desire to improve on whatever the creature finds itself to be. To connect fully with God, to know Christ living as me, I must be joyfully content with the way I find myself to be. The primary reason both humans and angels pull their mind and will away from God is the birthing of an inherent dissatisfaction with self (sin), “God, You made me wrong.”

Now, being utterly content with self is 100% compatible with a deep thirst for an increased knowledge and revelation of God. In contrast, being dissatisfied with self squelches any thirst to know God more fully.

“For they being ignorant of God's righteousness.” What a statement! These are the Pharisees Paul is speaking of, and Paul knew the Pharisees, he had been one of the best. These people knew the law of Moses inside and out. They could quote it in its entirety. They knew every particle of what it meant and how it was to be applied to every aspect of life. And some of them, including the pre-Christ Paul, came pretty close to keeping that law to perfection.

So how does Paul claim that they are IGNORANT, that is they do not KNOW, God's righteousness.

I walked for many years with a people who held a mighty vision before their eyes of the victory of God over sin and death in our present lives. But because of the King James Bible and Augustine's prejudice, they determined that the enemy, the thing that can prevent an individual from experiencing full victory over both sin and death, was the human flesh, that is this human “nature” that carries in itself the propensity always to be stumbling and falling, always to be sleeping when it should be praying or crying out in fear when it should be sleeping.

Now, we were a Spirit-filled people; we knew the demonstration of God's power. We were not legalistic.

I know the full meaning of “seeking to establish their own righteousness” as it works itself out in many different personalities, good and Christ-loving all.

We KNEW that our human makeup was the “problem,” the thing keeping us from being part of the fulfillment of the great vision we carried. And thus our whole effort was getting God to help us fix our problem, this deficiency in our construction.

What we did not know was that this way of seeing was an interesting mixture of atheism and rebellion against God, both at the same time. Atheism says “God, You are absent,” rebellion says, “I should be better than what I am.”

Now, I know individual people who responded differently to this dilemma than I did. As I said, my belief that I was falling short of the vision caused me to draw back in discouragement. That reaction IS the only godly reaction; it is Romans 7. But I know very well a number of individuals who “took themselves in hand” to make their human self subject to the vision, subject to a God who yet remains separate from them in their own minds.

Every effort of the human to “make it” or “get right with God” or “get your flesh into submission” or even “hear and obey” results in one thing alone. It results in a religious ego, an iron barrier, that prevents that person from ever surrendering to Christ as their only life. Now, Jesus remains the Lamb, and He carries them. Thus these are good, kind, godly, and anointed people. Yet they count union with Christ to be the greatest evil (flesh cannot be okay, let alone filled with Christ) and the exaltation of the self they have produced to be what God desires.

Hatred of self is the greatest love of self that exists. For the hatred is coming from a self who is convinced he has been wronged by his Creator and, in fact, should be far superior to what he finds himself to be. Hatred of self is the fall of Lucifer; it is the sin of Adam. It is the supreme love and exaltation of self.

You see, when Jesus said, “the Spirit is willing but the flesh is weak,” the Christian mind says, “Oh, that's my fault. If I were just a better person, my flesh would not be weak.” NO!!! Jesus was talking about the way God, in His incredible wisdom, designed us to be as His image and likeness.

Jesus spoke to two kinds of people: those who let their flesh run wild through all the lusts of this world and those who put their flesh under subjection to the clear requirements of a holy God. Of these two groups of people, which ones heard Him gladly, which ones received Him with all their hearts? And even those who had trained their hearts to “get their flesh underfoot” who did receive Christ as Savior, became Paul's nemesis, following him around, always speaking against Christ as our very and only life.

Here is the incredible thing. And it is exactly what Jesus said. When we no longer love ourselves, we discover with all joy that we love ourselves, precious and holy, our own personal expression of Christ Himself.

The tree of knowledge gives two options: let your flesh feed on all the lusts of the world OR get your flesh under control.

The tree of life gives only one option, an option that is not related to either option from the tree of knowledge: surrender your “self” utterly into the Lamb and allow Him to be your flesh. Be utterly content with the way God made you. Be complete in Christ.

In so doing you begin to delight in yourself as you find yourself to be, but also, when you remember how you once viewed “self,” you see with horror the power of self-love that sat behind your former “self-hatred.” But as we delight in ourselves as we find ourselves to be, we also discover the knowledge of God flowing out of our surrender into union with Christ and the expectation of God increases without end.

God made us the way we find ourselves to be BECAUSE that's how He wants His image to be. God cannot reveal Himself through us unless we delight in His workmanship.

Let's look more closely at Revelation 12:11. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.

Let's start with a grammar lesson. A pronoun is a word that takes the place of a noun. It is an absolute law of human language that you cannot use a pronoun without first introducing the noun. For example: The dog barked; he barked at the cat. The pronoun “he” is clear, because it takes the place of the noun “dog.” We know exactly what the pronoun “he” refers to. In this sentence, the noun “dog” is called the antecedent of the pronoun “he.” “He” clearly refers to its antecedent, “dog.”

Descriptive (not prescriptive) grammar is vital to us in understanding any sentence. The verb always rules both sentence and meaning. Action verbs are always superior to linking verbs in conveying meaning and interest. The action of this sentence is “overcame.” Thus “overcome” rules both the sentence and all the meaning it conveys.

Notice the progression from “Let there be light” to “Did God indeed say.” What word stands between those two? “Subdue the earth.” The reality of overcoming came into the human understanding before any accusation against God appeared.

But the moment we know the action taking place, we must also know who is doing the action, that is, subject/verb.

“They.” Who are they? You see, this is wrong grammar. Now, in full contrast, the direct object, that is, the object receiving the full impact of the action, is “him.” “Him” has a clear antecedent in preceding verses, that is, the dragon, the original serpent, the accuser. But “they” has no antecedent. Three times, in Revelation only, the pronoun “they” is used with no antecedent. God simply does not say who “they” are.

I believe God uses incorrect grammar here in order to underline the reality of life, that it is by invitation only. “Of all the trees of the garden (including the tree of life) you may freely eat.” “Whosoever will may come and drink.” “If any man thirsts.”

It's easy to tell who “they” are. Consider these words: “Look at me, God. I belong to You. Let every Word you speak be fulfilled in my life in all of its fullness.” To “they,” these words are a continual joy and expectation, as normal as breathing. To “not they,” these words don't mean a thing.

“They” are those who say, “I AM one of 'them.'”

“They overcame him.”

We must understand this God who fills us full. He is bizarre, to put it mildly. He is meek and lowly of heart; He reveals Himself through weakness; when He shows up in the earth, He stoops to serve. But He sure does like to “kick butt,” I guess, is the only real way of saying it. Why is that? Why does God set this whole thing up as a really good, knock-down, drag-out, no-holds-barred fight?

Yes. When we have the answer to that question, we get to go to the head of the class!

Remember that “overcome the accuser” came into the picture BEFORE any human sin.

God created all things good, first. Then He placed the operative word into the mix, the action verb – conquer, overcome, subdue. Then, He brought the accuser into the picture, third. “They overcame him.” You see, those three words are the gist of Genesis 1 through Genesis 3:1. Everything from Genesis 3:2 until this present moment is the unfolding of the three prepositional phrases, the three “by's.” But the stage is set fully with “They (Christ revealed in weakness through many) overcame him.”

I do not want to go any further into “him,” in this letter except to say that the word “him” includes more than the serpent, it includes all of his expression among men, including human government, the Beast. And it especially includes all serpent-word spoken in Christianity.

“Overcome,” then, is the action of the human experience, the verb that gives meaning to everything, the tension that creates the Great Story of God.

Now, the rest of the sentence is really bad grammar as well. It should read “by the blood of the Lamb, by the word of their testimony, and by not loving their lives to the death.” It should be three equal “by's.” Oh well.

Look carefully at those three prepositional phrases. They are all three adverbs, that is, they speak of the verb, “overcame,” answering the question, “how.” Jesus said, “To those who overcome, I give to eat of the tree of life.” So, yes, every serious Christian asks the simple and very, very large question, “HOW?”

These three prepositional phrases answering the critical question “How? How, Lord, do we overcome,” are NOT three steps. We do not begin with the first, proceed to the second, and finally, arrive at the third. That concept does work in other things God speaks such as our walk through the Tabernacle of God, but it does not work here. Rather, those three phrases are one thing carried between two.

Jesus said, “My yoke is easy, My burden is light.” We always thought that was a yoke and a weight we must bear. Not at all. It is the yoke He bears, the burden He carries. While writing the last couple of pages, I have had this image pressing upon my heart. Let's picture it together and see where it takes us.

Jesus carries the yoke.

A yoke is a wooden bar carved out to fit around the neck and across the shoulders. The bar is carved wide to fit the exact shape of the shoulders in order to spread the weight. From each end of that wooden bar hangs a rope and a hook to which a bucket is attached. I have many years of experience in wilderness community carrying full buckets of fresh water in and full buckets of used water out (every kind of used water). I believe I used a real yoke only once, early on at Graham River Farm. It is easier to carry two full buckets with a yoke than one full bucket with one hand, always off-balance. A yoke allows you to walk upright and comfortably. No yoke makes you twisted and out of joint. No yoke creates bad backs.

Now, picture Jesus, carrying the yoke, all the weight in perfect balance, striding forward lightly and easily. It's sort of like the cross, arms outstretched. In fact, it's easier when you place your hands out onto the bar of the yoke to balance it. Now, let's take the thought that we are looking upside down and inside out. Let's invert that picture.

What you have now is the picture of Much-Afraid. (If you have not read Hind's Feet on High Places, you really must.) There she is, stumbling along, hands out-stretched, reaching for her companions, Sorrow on one side and Suffering on the other, faithful and true. All the way along, it seems to her that it is they who lift her up, who dust her off, who carry her, step by stumbling step, all the way to the High Places. Remember what they said to her after they became Peace and Joy? I quoted them in “The Mercy Seat”; let me quote them again here.

~~~
“Since you brought us here with you, we are turned into Joy and Peace.”
“Brought you here!” gasped Grace and Glory (Much-Afraid transformed). “What an extraordinary way to express it! Why, from the first to last you dragged me here.”
Again they shook their heads and smiled as they answered, “No, we could never have come here alone, Grace and Glory. Suffering and Sorrow may not enter the Kingdom of Love, but each time you accepted us and put your hands in ours we began to change. Had you turned back or rejected us, we never could have come here.”
~~~

Remember what Isaiah said, that in a very real sense, Jesus cannot return to the Father, having completed all He was sent to do, except He find faith. As incredible as it sounds, in the end, it will be the Lord Jesus who says to us, “Thank you, My dear ones, you carried Me home. I could never have returned to My Father except you put your hands in Mine.”

Let's look at Suffering and Sorrow, one on each side of us. On the one hand, lifting us up and carrying us every step of the way is “the blood of the Lamb.” The Lamb always carries us, and when we stumble and fall, weak and hurting, all we can see is Blood. We never consider our mistakes ever again. On the other hand, lifting us up and carrying us every step of the way is “not loving their lives to the death.” The Cross always carries us; we have no self but Jesus. Christ Jesus is our only self. We are He living as us in this world. And thus we are utterly content in ourselves, in what we find ourselves to be, our true selves.

In between these two absolutes, then, is the task given by our Father to us.

“The word of their testimony.”

Speak Christ.

We never speak Christ “in order to.” We always speak Christ “because of.”

This is our task; this is our glory. And in the end, the Lord Jesus will say to us, “Thank you for bringing Me Home. I never could have set creation free if you had not put your hands in Mine.”

The prophetic word of Christ comes out ONLY from a very particular place. It is a place of intimacy and tears, of giving thanks for sorrow and for Joy, for suffering and for Peace.

It is a place of having abandoned all concern for sin and all concern for the sinner, the first utterly into the Lamb's Blood, the second utterly into the Lamb-Slain. And there, carried by the Lamb in all ways, we speak Christ our only life.

Speaking Christ is not saying things about Jesus; it is speaking Christ, the victorious Conqueror, revealed personally in all ways as me.

And in the end, the Lamb will conquer the serpent/beast BECAUSE those who are with Him are called and chosen and filled with faith.

Yes, I am saying that the day will come when the Lord Jesus will say to us before all the universe, “Thank you so much, it was your faith that carried Me home. Every time you spoke Me, all that I am, as your only life in the midst of all your weakness, in the face of all opposition, casting all of yourself utterly into Me, it was you who enabled Me to accomplish what the Father sent Me to do, to set all creation free. I could never have done it without you.”

And we will stand there in wonder feeling like wounded Frodo and bumbling Sam and left-behind Merry and silly Pippin as Lords and Kings and the great ones of the earth and of all the realms of heaven bow upon their knees in wonder and adoration before the One who fills our heart.

And thus we will discover that Revelation 4 & 5 were all about us. We are His glory.

I have shed many tears in writing this; I know it's the word the Lord Jesus wants to fill your heart with right now.

It begins as a Word and then the accuser. Then comes the Word in weakness, then comes the accuser again. Then comes the Lamb in sorrow, then the Word in many, the accuser's last gasp, and the Lamb again, in Glory.

That's God's story. That's the Bible. That's the book of Revelation, the apocalypse of Jesus Christ.

It's all about God finding faith.

Emeli Sandé - Read all about it Lyrics

Via The People's Voice

Pop songs are nicely ambiguous.
Much poetry is.
This song could mean for example:
Hey the times are fearful and bad, don't be afraid to have some "Tree of Good".
ie  we've had the bad end of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, let's have the Good end now

to , as it would say in Star Wars...restore the balance in the Force.

Is that all Emeli means? I don't know her.
I know what I mean by her lyrics.

I mean it's time to rip up the whole Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil Floor Show, the Luciferian Taoist and witchcraft doctrines of you must have bad to have good.....so let's murder a few more babies in the Belgian Castle every morning as a blood sacrifice!!!!!

No, no,no
The Church is not here to preach a Catholic Nicaean Creed doctrine of appeasing an angry god...

we're here to continue Jesus' own message about laying the axe to the root. We're just not interested in the whole Tree...neither the good end or the bad end...

we're changing trees. To the Tree of pure Life source...the self for others Tree, the Tree with a Cross in the heart of it.

The life that goes into the ground like a seed and perishes that it might be raised as a fruitbearing plant....bearing an impossible amount of self replicating Life Seed....

And not being ashamed to say so....

Covenant, Unity and Nehemiah 8

Nettle Fettucine -Absolutely nothing to do with this post!!!
Just  that in the background, while writing it through the day
I have been doing things like making handmade pasta and
I came across this recipe for nettle fettucine
Picture from this recipe post
This post is a copy of a letter today to friends who were/are a part of a Facebook thread.

Friends
One of the greatest things about Jesus is He is real.
But another thing about Jesus is He doesn't impose.

Nancy will know this, but to our generation schooled on church life, the thought that you can actually "go outside" church AND STILL SURVIVE is soooooo major!
Like the old Middle Age maps with "Beyond here there be dragons" we were all taught that no Christian can survive without fellowship...that we are absolutely sure of going off the rails if we left the "covering " of the church.
Man....this was real for us....

until we came to our Chapter 5 of Song of Solomon point where the watchmen that had been so nice and friendly before....start ripping at our Shulammite dresses and leaving us more or less starkers in the town square.

And guess what? A lot of us have been out of church for years. And we're still breathing. Many of us have actually grown more and faster than at any other point of our Christian life. But only because we found the same foundation for living that St Paul did in Arabia.....errrr presumably while learning how to knit marquees for a living!!!

Only perhaps not all have the same foundation quite...only you can answer that one.
You see it's not only grabbing Christ as you in your form...
St Paul also at least twice we know of, and maybe quite often besides...had experiences with the Living Jesus as He is NOW in the heavenlies.

What I like about Daniel Yordy's writing and really what I was trying to capture in the Hindhead Tunnel post is that we are tunneling at both ends simultaneously. John 17 is real NOW. I am in God and God is in me. I am in His Kingdom and the Kingdom is in me.
As the old song from Pentecostalism said
the fulness of the Godhead dwells bodily in My Lord and I am complete in Him.

When we say like the disciples....the Kingdom of heaven is at hand...we mean it.
The throne of God expresses itself through me, and yet simultaneously I am in the Throne of God in Jesus in the heavenlies.
My life is hid with Christ in God.

As long as our believing is active....and really for that read...as long as we are saying to God inwardly like Mary....Be it unto me according to your Word....and
allowing for the faith of the Son of God to do His stuff live and active inside of us...

This One Person is doing more or less the same stuff simultaneously through all of us here....yet marvellously in its individuality and context of each of our unique parts to play in this life and in the one to come. Quite how that can be so....is simply amazing.

So here is the great truth that God wants to share in the square in Nehemiah 8.

Nehemiah is already the return from Babylon, and people came in waves.

Why is so much of the gospel to do with "return"?
In returning and rest shall you be saved. In quietness and confidence shall be your strength.
Ok so what if we blow it?
In returning and rest shall you be saved etc......

Getting the picture?
It's more than a "built in" tag on to salvation.

From Adam being called for in the garden...."hey Adam....where are you you?" and being coaxed out of hiding, and having his figleaves removed, and being clothed instead with skins of an animal who had given its life....

right through every return procedure down the ages.

Naaman's cure for leprosy was ALL ABOUT RETURN....returning 7 times into the Jordan....and for 6 of them NOTHING OUTWARDLY changed.

What does that tell you about God manifesting in sons?
Something like there are 7 distinct stages to sorting us out and 6 of them are completely unseen!!!! And the devil leverages the unseen-ness to tell us "see, this gospel never does anything at all"

But another thing returning is about is willingness. A voluntary selfgiving....WHEN WE WANT. Romans 12 1-2 comes at the end of a mighty mighty exchange. If we are not sure of the product benefits, then we don't lay our lives down....simple as that.
It's a FREEWILL OFFERING in Psalm 110. God is not interested in anything else.

So If Nehemiah 1 to 7 is about returning, and each returning is connected with God erecting Gates and Walls that all have specific names...
Gathering in chapter 8 in the central square is about the finished work that God has done so far....

And it's so goood...ofcourse we gather and cut Covenant with the Word together.

What was Adam and Eve's feelings about returning before God called out for Adam?
Hiding away, plastered with figleaves.
None of us can believe honestly ahead of time in the plans of God. We are all like the man that buried his talent for fear that his master was a "hard master"...."demanding stuff with interest".

We'd prefer to bury everything in the ground and at least we'll be able to offer that.
God believes in returns with interest so much...instead of making too much of the resurrection, He calls His Son home to transplant the same resurrection into thousands of us.

I'm rambling...but this really is the background to what I want to say about unity.

For four years we have scattered seed on the net, and there has been fruit, and people have caught hold of new stuff they have never heard before. But have you also noticed there are some humongous divisions of belief, schisms and cliques?
Have you also noticed that screes of writing later there still are the same groups and separate forums and belief systems.

Here is something wonderful.
Jesus said
where two or three gather in My Name there am I in their midst.

Those two or three cease to be any human forum
any club
any belief system

they are a group visited instead by the One Lord Jesus Christ.

And when even larger groups gather, if they too are serious about God, this same Jesus Christ is among them....but by now we have more like 12 tribes worth of people represented. And each group type/interest type/personality type can begin to see themselves mirrored properly in Jesus Christ
BUT IN RELATION TO EVERY OTHER TRIBE
who is also so mirrored.

So unlike Facebook where Ken Dahl can hold court over a particular set of preterist beliefs for literally years on end, and never really be challenged.....OK people like me attempt it....but all he hears is "just another idea"

but in the collective gathering of the saints, all mirroring Jesus correctly, this Jesus who comes in Person to join the gathering...

Ken Dahl's lesser theories
Darin Hufford's lesser theories
Chris Welch's lesser theories
Nancy Gilmore's lesser theories
etc etc

all vanish like mist before the actual Presence of the Living God.
How fast?
Ooooh, unlike on the net, where it all goes on for years and years, and offline on high streets it goes on for 100s of years unchallenged...
but in the Presence of the actual Jesus Christ
I would say ...approximately 20 minutes...that's all.

Pianos go on for years with strings that slacken approximately up to 3 or 4 semitones, beyond which they rarely fall.
And there they sit for decades possibly in houses or old halls.

Until a tuner comes.
The most it ever takes is 90 minutes....usually 45-50.

Are any of you hearing in the Spirit what I am saying about the prophetic significance of Nehemiah 8? The gathering in the square. Cutting covenant.
But it's based on proper GATES and WALLS.
And one of which is the INSPECTION GATE.

Spirit discernment IS IN THE BODY.
Spirit discernment is in your spirit.
Jesus in you knows what isn't Jesus in you.

A priesthood learning what the Melchizedek order is. Schooled and trained in Psalm 123 , looking unto the smallest move of the eyes of the Master, as a servant does....knows now what a SINGLE EYE IS.
Knows what is God going on.
Has trained their senses according to righteousness.

Can you think of anything more sinister than an inspection Gate patrolled by Nazis, or Russian Communists, or worse still Ofsted Inspectors? Supposing Job's friends were in the Inspection Gate? They tried to be. We have 35 odd chapters of their inspecting.
Third Level Gatherings are not like that. Why? Because Truth just isn't the hazy thing that Lucifer has been teaching the world it is. But at the Good end of his Tree...it isn't a black and white leftbrain construction of Good either. That also is the devil. But that's another post.
Here's the fantastic thing about piano tuning and also about the Body of Christ...and natural bodies. There's no hazy truth.

  • A piano is perfectly in tune when you can play in all 12 keys equally. Strings are in tune when the sympathy between the strings has additional force. The sum is greater than the parts!!!
  • The Body of Christ is in tune when it can hear /see the Melchizedek order and act in alignment.
  • A natural body has a complete homeostatic system to regulate every single aspect of right functioning.
The Holy Spirit in believers is the same.

In the Old Testament, the big difference is the people were addressed by one man in Chapter 8....Ezra the scribe.

Now, God is teaching His Body to move as One. Guess certain ones will lead as God indicates, and present their twopennarth....but really by now it should be the whole Body knowing how to plug into the frequency of the Melchizedek Order.
"Doing only what they see the Father doing".

There are two trainings.
1/ Walking daily Christ as us
2/ In gatherings as everyone is moved by the Spirit in particular

So hang onto your seatbelts!
Just as a piano can sit for years until a tuner with the right equipment comes along and in minutes does what nobody else has done for decades....

So the Spirit is well able to achieve in terms of unity when the right equipment and systems are in place....what pastors and wrong structures operating in fleshly wisdom have been unable to accomplish for two thousand years.

All may not be well...Misha McCumber's blog

These are two long articles from Misha McCumber's blog
If I was totally rocked by learning that Billy Graham was a 33rd degree Freemason, I was less rocked to learn how Andrew White comes to be where he is. Again like Graham I have absolutely no idea at what level he is complicit...but he is. Benny Hinn is of a different spirit to me, though in many ways our spiritual journey has run parallel....we both found ourselves in Chorleywood church around 1973. Benny Hinn talked with me as a Facebook friend briefly then defriended me. Andrew White is a friend on Facebook, which at the moment I have left, but a much closer friend of Elaine Waterfield.  There is much I didn't "get" about Andrew White...Misha calls him a cannon, perhaps he is, but in the Anglican Church he is a canon with one middle "n". This article fills in many details. See in the index below for other Canon White references.

It may surprise many of you that in 2001, the United Nations granted the Knights Templar special consultative status on peace talks in the Middle East. You may ask yourself, as I did, why a secretive order such as the Knights Templar would have been given such an exalted status on such a volatile peace initiative. In looking for the answer to this I made some interesting discoveries; discoveries which ultimately lead to a man named Canon Andrew White.
The Sovereign Military Order of the Temple of Jerusalem (Knights Templar) is a “Christian” chivalric society whose rituals are shrouded in secrecy and steeped in mysticism. The order is deeply ecumenical.
Ecumenism refers to a worldwide religious unity through shared spirituality across the three Abrahamic faiths of Judaism, Christianity and Islam. The target of their ecumenical thrust is of course the Middle East, the seed bed and birth place of the three Abrahamic religions.
Alarmingly, in 2001, the United Nations granted the Knights Templar special consultative status on peace talks in the Middle East. Obviously, they are not the only ones with their eyes on the Middle East. Indeed, it is foremost in the minds of the international community and not for reasons of peace.
Why the international obsession with bringing peace to the Middle East? A growing partnership between government and religion is preparing the world for a soon coming political/religious leader. The Antichrist will unite the world with the promise of peace and through this newly attained and short-lived peace, shall destroy many (Daniel 8:25). For this elusive promise of peace, men will rally for the unification of all major religions under the New World Order.
Of course, no one has done more for the promise of peace in the Middle East than Canon Andrew White. If you have not heard of him, you will. His dedication to the pursuit of peace and the unity of the Abrahamic faiths in the Middle East is well documented and internationally recognized. Brought up in the Assemblies of God, White became an Anglican while training as an operating department practitioner at St. Thomas’ Hospital in London. White’s first visit to Iraq was in 1998 at the invitation of Saddam Hussein’s deputy Prime Minister Tariq Aziz. This and subsequent visits provided the opportunity to build relationships with many of the Religious and Political leaders of Iraq.
If you doubt that this man is a world heavyweight, look at the list of honours and titles bestowed upon him by the international community.
  • Awarded the International Sternberg Prize
  • Awarded the Prize for Sustained Intellectual Contribution to Jewish Christian Relations by The International Council of Christians and Jews (ICCJ)
  • Awarded the Prize for Inter-Faith Relations (2003) by The Three Faith’s Forum Awarded the Tanenbaum Peacemaker in Action Prize (2005)
  • Has met with the pope, prime ministers and presidents including the President of the United States.
  • Founding President of the Foundation of Relief and Reconciliation in the Middle East(FRRME)
  • Director of the Religious Sectarian project for the US Department of Defence
  • Anglican Chaplain to Iraq and Anglican Episcopal Chaplain to the International Zone in Iraq.
  • Vicar of St. George’sChurchwhich is in the ‘Red Zone’ ofBaghdadand has over 1000 Iraqi’s in the congregation
  • International Advisor for the Center for Conflict Relief and Reconciliation
  • Friends with Yasser Arafat
  • Member of the globalist World Economic Forum committee (which boasts members such as President Bush and Bill Gates)
However, the most interesting award, by far, was given to White by the Knights Templar. Canon Andrew White was made a Grand Commander of the Order of Merit of the Knights Templar of Jerusalem Woolf Institute Peace Prize. Quite an honor – in fact, this is the highest honor that can be bestowed on a Knights Templar. Canon Andrew White is the only person in living history to have received such an honor. This may not be surprising considering that White is aggressively furthering the Templar agenda in the Middle East. What, you may ask, is the Templar Agenda? Well let’s look at a bit of their history in that region.
The Knights Templar was formed during the time of the crusades when “Christian” armies emerged from Europe to fight the Muslim forces that controlled the Holy Land. In 1096, Jerusalem, having been purged of its hostile forces, began to receive the first European Christian pilgrims. Several years later, an order was founded to offer ongoing protection to these vulnerable travellers.
These so-called “Knights” took up headquarters in the Temple of Solomon and were extended extraordinary privileges by the Vatican. The Knights Templar wielded extraordinary power and formidable wealth for nearly a hundred years. However their power and purpose ended abruptly when they were driven out of the Holy land by the Muslim Warrior Saladin. The last Middle Eastern stronghold was conceded in 1303 in what today is modern Syria.
The Templar’s, who had embraced the occultist Kabbalah and spread its mysticism across Europe eventually, fell into disfavor with the pope who disbanded the order in 1309. It is undisputed that the Knights Templar was the forerunner and father of the Masonic order. This, according to Albert Pike, a 33rd degree Mason, and one of Free Masonry’s founding fathers. He was head of the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, and the Grand Commander of North American Freemasonry from 1859-1891. Pike clearly stated that the ancient Knights Templar had concealed themselves under the name Masons.
“Therefore it was that the Sword and the Trowel were the insignia of the Templar’s, who subsequently, as will be seen, concealed themselves under the name of Brethren Masons. This name, Freres Macons in the French, adopted by way of secret reference to the Builders of the Second Temple, was corrupted in English into Free-Masons …”
Although much of their practices are still shrouded in secrecy, the modern-day Knights Templar are involved in charity work and historical research as they continue to carry out the work in Jerusalem where the order was founded. There is still an enormous interest and agenda in the Middle East.
Given the knights Templar history in the Middle East, and their aggressive agenda to unite the three faiths, it is not surprising to see Canon Andrew White rolling up his sleeves in the Middle East as well. What might be surprising however, is the fact that he has enlisted Mahesh Chavda and Benny Hinn! On Chavda’s website I found a video in which Andrew White addressed his congregation. It is undisputed that Canon Andrew White is a frequent conference guest of Chavda’s, All Nations Church.
What struck me with this video, was the familiarity with which White conversed with Chavda’s congregation. He insisted that Chavda was “integral” to his work in the Middle East. At the very beginning of the video, White makes a joke that he was summoned to Washington by the “people who run the world”. He explains that Senator Lieberman had called him and insisted he must come and see him. White tells the congregation that he told Lieberman he couldn’t because he has to be in Charlotte Friday afternoon (at Chavda’s church). According to White, Lieberman had wanted him to go to St. John’s, where the President [Bush] goes to Church, and preach for the president.
The following is taken word for word from the video. “So you have to get your priorities right in life and certainly one of my key priorities is coming here because this place is intrinsically linked with everything we are doing. I thank God for it and I thank God that my Jewish grandmother sent me in this direction when I didn’t want to come. And I thank God for the way this church has miraculously been involved in so much of our work. You know, I like the Archbishop of Canterbury, I was with him on Monday afternoon, but I must confess that if I ever have a major issue, its Bonne and Mahesh that I phone and I ask for some prophetic insight into what should be happening or what I should be doing”.
White’s then gives a virtual laundry list of prestigious meetings he will be attending.
“I was instructed by Pastor Mahesh that I had to tell you what I was doing in the next month……As it stands at the moment I begin the year in Belgium at the biggest meeting ever of Rabbis and Imams from around the world and I think I am the only Christian that is invited there for some reason. So, that’s Belgium at the beginning of the week [at the be beginning of January] and then, if it is up to God, I will go to Iraq and I need you to pray about that- then come back to Georgia to have a meeting with the Sunni leaders to try to persuade them to take part in the Iraqi elections, then over to Israel for the Palestinian elections. On the 9th of January following that, I am hosting the first meeting between the president of Israel and President of the Palestinian Authority, who will probably be Mahmoud Abbas, which will be on the third anniversary of the signing of what was called the Alexandria Declaration. Then I am not quite sure- then I think I am going to Cyprus to give the Presidential address or something at the Diocese of Cyprus in the Gulf. Then, I go back to Israel. Then I go to Davos, which is the World Economic Forum. All the most powerful people in the world go there, and for some reason I am invited. It’s called the C100 group and everybody from the President of your country, to Bill Gates is there and for some reason Andrew White. So, I have to go there and it snows in Davos at that time of year, so I don’t like the snow. Then from Davos, back there to Israel, then back here to Washington.” Address by Canon Andrew White to All Nations Church.
So here we have heard from Canon Andrew White’s own mouth that he considers Chavda an integral part of what he is doing in the Middle East, but why? Why on earth would Cannon Andrew White align himself with Mahesh Chavda?
So let’s jump now to a program transcript of a Benny Hinn Program in which Hinn gushes over the high-ranking Templar, Canon Andrew White and agrees to be used in his agenda in the Middle East.
Introduction, April 26, 2004]
Benny Hinn: “I want to introduce you today to a very wonderful person named Andrew White, who’s serving Jesus and loves the Lord with all his heart. He’s the Special Envoy to the Archbishop of Canterbury. He is working today in Iraq; most amazing life, truly. And what God is doing through him, in the Middle East, is remarkable. He is my dear friend and I am so glad you are here with me today, Andrew.”
Andrew White: “Great. Thank you, Pastor Benny.”
Hinn: “Now, they call you ‘Canon’ Andrew White. I think maybe our people would like to know what a Canon is finally.”
White: “There are loose cannons and there are big shots [laughter], and a Canon in the Anglican Church is somebody who has his basis, uh, a cathedral, is one of the”
Hinn: [interrupts] “Now let me ask you, what do you, what are, what are you doing right now in Iraq? Our listeners would love to know what you’re doing right now.”
White“Well, In Iraq, I act as a liaison between the Coalition Provisional Authority and the Iraqi religious leaders. The Ayatollahs’, the Sunni Sheikhs’, the Christian leaders, the Turkmen, the Yazidis’, the Sapis’, all of the other small groups, and I’m the Senior Advisor to the Iraqi Center for Reconciliation and Peace”
Hinn: “And you’re holding services Sunday morning?”
White: “Uh, Sunday morning I chair in the chaplaincy at Saddam’s old palace, and, and I preach most Sunday mornings in the palace in Baghdad for the troops and for the diplomats. And in the afternoon I go over to our little Anglican church, which has reopened since the war, now has several hundred members and over a hundred children, and is the most exciting thing I’m involved with today.”
Hinn: “Now I want all our precious people to know, He [Canon Andrew White] is charismatic; full of the Holy Spirit [laughs]. It’s so wonderful. God has put you right in that”
White: [interrupts] “And they want you in Iraq!”
Hinn: “Tell me about that.”
White: “Well, I was, uh, I was talking to, uh, a Pastor Maher [Pastor Maher Abdul Mageed] about, uh, coming over to see you, and he said, ‘Well, we all watch Pastor Benny on satellite television, because satellite television was banned under Saddam.”
Hinn: “Yes.”
White: “And suddenly now everybody has satellite television. They all watch you, and they all want you to come to Baghdad.”
Hinn: “Will you take me there?”
White: “I will take you there, and they told me there’ll be thousands of people coming.”
Hinn: “Well is it safe to go right now?”
White: “Of course not!”
Hinn: [laughs, claps hands, and hits arms of his chair with his hands] “Okay, so when do we go?”
White: “But, but, Jesus didn’t tell us to be safe!”
Hinn: [laughs] “That’s right! Amen!”
White: “He tells us to take risks for the sake of the gospel! And if we only did what was safe we wouldn’t do anything.”
Hinn: “Don’t you love him, saints? I, you know what? When I met him in Dubai, I just, you know, it was like you and I had known each other for years.”
White: “Well, that was amazing, because you said to me, ‘Look, you must, we must meet up sooner.’ I said, ‘what chance is there of us meeting? I’m zooming around the world in one direction or in the other.’ You spoke to me on a Saturday. You said to me, ‘Where are you this week?’ I said, ‘Wednesday-Dubai; Thursday-Iman; Friday-Baghdad.”
Hinn: “Now this all started in a, with a most amazing letter I got from this man [Andrew White]. You send me a letter inviting me to be a part of the Alexandria Process. Now, our people would love to know what that is, first. But, what you said to me about that dear man. Uh, what’s his name again?”
[Note: The Alexandria Process is a process of active dialogue between religious leaders (Christian, Jewish and Muslim) in the Holy Land to try to build understanding and work towards peace]
White: “Yasser Arafat.”
Hinn: [laughs] “Besides Yasser Arafat.”
White: “Sheikh Tamimi” [Sheikh Taisir Tamimi].
Hinn: “Sheikh Tamimi. Now, who is Sheikh Tamimi?”
White: “Well, Sheikh Tamimi is the Alexandria processes–the religious Track of the Middle East peace processes–which really came about when the Israeli government came to me soon after the establishment. Uh, the second, in spite, said, ‘Look, one of the reasons why the Mid-East Process has failed is it’s too secular.’ And the Sheikh Tamimi is the leader, the Supreme, the super-judge of the Sharia Court, the Islamic courts of Palestine. And I was with him one day and he was complaining that I hadn’t mentioned him on the God Channel. So I said, ‘What you doing watching the God Channel?’ He said that, ‘We watch it everyday to watch Benny Hinn.’ I said, ‘You, the Supreme Islamic Judge, the top Islamic Cleric of Palestine, watch Benny Hinn?’ ‘Yeah. Everyday.’ And, uh, then he starts telling me what the program was like. He said, ‘Benny Hinn stretches his hands out. He prays for people and they fall down. Have you ever seen that?’ they say to me.”
[Note: two things stand out to me in this- one that they admit that the peace process has failed because it is too secular. Two, what is the Supreme Islamic Judge doing watching Benny Hinn?]
Hinn: “You know I, I’m just sitting here, even though I’ve heard this before, I’m still amazed. And really, I am.”
White: “I’ll take you to him next week.”
Hinn: “Well, we are going to Israel. I think by the time you [viewing audience] are watching these programs we’ll be there.”
White: “You will see it.”
Hinn: “Now let me ask you something. Uh, the Alexandria Process. It’s a group of religious leaders.”
White: “It’s religious leaders working with the political leaders. So, we’re working with every aspect of the Quartet. The Quartet is the international body responsible for the peace process. That’s the Americans, United Nations. European Union and, um.” [pauses and looks directly at Hinn]
[Note: so White admits that the European Union, the United Nations, the Americans and the Russians are all working hand in hand with major religious leaders to bring about world Peace.  Is this causing alarm bells in anyone?]
Hinn: “And?”
White: “The Russians.”
Hinn: “And now they want me on that, like you told me?”
[The religious leaders from Israel and Palestine want Benny Hinn to come? If Hinn were truly preaching the Jesus of the bible do you think the Jews and Arabs would be asking him to come?]
White: “The people who want your involvement are the religious leaders, themselves, from Israel and Palestine.”
Hinn: “Tell our partners what that dear man”
White: [interrupts] “The other old, the old man in Ramallah?”
Hinn: “No-no. The man you just mentioned.”
White: “Tamimi?”
Hinn: “Yeah. What did he say to you?”
White: “Well, Tamimi said, “We need Pastor Benny Hinn.” And I was sitting down with him one day around Yasser Arafat’s table, and he said to President Arafat, he said, “Raed, we need Benny Hinn.”He [Tamimi] said to me, “Arafat raised his eyebrows and said he’s one of our boys.”
[So Arafat considers Hinn – one of his boys]
Hinn: [laughs] “So now, what did, what did that man say?” Why do they want me on there?”
White: “The reason they want you is because they realize that you probably influence more Christians across the globe than anybody else. And, uh, they know that in order to bring about change, we’ve got to have the representatives of the biggest churches.”
[Ahhh.. so now it comes out- they do not want to win souls– no, they need Benny Hinn because of his “influence” and in order to bring about world peace they will have to get the representatives of the biggest churches on board]
Hinn: “Now, let me ask you something else. Do you believe there will be peace in the Middle East?”
White: “I’m not sure.”
Hinn: “So why are you there?”
White: “I’m there because God tells us to pray for the peace of Jerusalem. And if He tells us to pray for the peace of Jerusalem, surely He means we must work for it. He doesn’t tell us to pray for anything which we’re not supposed to work towards.”
[Note: I do not think that God meant we were supposed to seek peace through compromise. Neither the Jew nor the Muslim accepts Christ as Savior. Jesus said, I am the way, the Truth and the Life and NO MAN COMES TO THE FATHER EXCEPT THROUGH ME. So are we all supposed to hold hands, chant, and pretend we are all on equal footing with God? While peace sounds like such a worthy cause, the truth is that there can be no peace in the Middle East until Jesus himself comes back.]
Hinn: “So, what am I supposed to do if I go with you?”
White: “Though, if you come with us, what we really want is we want your people and your followers to pray.”
Hinn: “You’ve got that already.”
White: “And just pray vaguely for the peace of Jerusalem is not specifically intervening. We need people to pray; to seriously pray for the peace of Jerusalem. We need people like you to be able to be a liaison between the people there and the people here. You see, I mentioned this ‘Quartet.’ In reality, three parts of it are irrelevant. The only thing that really matters is what America thinks, and how we relate to the U.S. administration. So these are all the various areas that you–we would like you to help us with.”
[Note: Because of his vast influence they want Benny as a liaison to convince the American people to go along with the Alexandria Process]
Hinn: “Well, precious people of God, please pray for me as I go with Andrew, uh, and, that God will speak to me clearly, because I do believe with all of my heart that God almighty will answer the prayer of His people; because the Scripture says God answers prayer.”
White: “Absolutely!”
[some conversation cut]
Hinn: “Andrew, if I go to Baghdad, what can happen?”
White: “If you go to Baghdad, many, many people will come to know Jesus, and many people will be healed.”
Hinn: “Where will we hold the meetings?”
White: “There are various places. Obviously we need to find, uh, a large enough venue.”
Hinn: “Is there one?”
White: “There is one, yes, the convention center.”
Hinn: “And how about support from the government and from the” White: [interrupts] “What government? We don’t really have a government.”
Hinn: “There must be some kind of a”
White: [interrupts] “It’s, it’s very, we are at a difficult point at the moment because we have the coalition really running Iraq. “But from the 30th of June, we have to hand-over sovereignty, and then it will be easier.”
Hinn: “Right.”
White: “And then we will have a government. And already we’re working very closely with”
Hinn: [interrupts] “And can you help me with that?”
White: “Absolutely. No problem.”
[some conversation cut]
Hinn: “And how they honor you. I saw that in Dubai with this precious man. Here you were walking around by yourself; a big collar; a big cross like he’s wearing now. And you walk into this hotel. You were walking around by yourself. My brother, Henry, and I had to shake our heads and say, ‘This man is bold.’ I mean, to walk in a Muslim country wearing this big cross on him, and a collar, you know.”
White: “I think, um, in most the places where we work we have very good relationships, and people trust us, because they see God in us. And, uh, there’s far more in common, they would say, with us as Christian leaders, than with people who are not of faith.”
[some conversation cut]
Hinn: “Andrew, I’m gonna be praying for you continually from now on. And I’m asking you [viewing audience] to pray for him. I’m hearing some new things today. In fact, when we met in Dubai, you had said some of the things you said on the program today. Pray for us, as we will be in Jerusalem together. In fact, when these programs are on the air we’ll be there. And, uh, there’s something else. We’ll see what God will do. It’s an exciting day today. Exciting for sure.”
White: “Very exciting time.”
[Plea for money cut out]
While this may be a lot of information, let me break it down for you.
  • Canon Andrew White is an extremely important man, both politically and religiously.
  • Canon White is a high-ranking Knights Templar and has received their highest honor. The Knights Templar are working towards uniting the three faiths in the Middle East to usher in peace, as are the Knights of Malta, and other secret societies.
  • In order to unite the faiths they need to enlist influential Christians.
  • Mahesh Chavda is working with, or at least under-girding, Canon Andrew White in his work in the Middle East.
  • Mahesh Chavda heads the All Nations Church in North Carolina and is associated with the New Apostolic Reformation, Rick Joyner, Todd Bentley, and other hard-core Dominionists.
  • Mahesh Chavda has been knighted by the Knights of Malta
  • Cannon Andrew White has also enlisted the help of Benny Hinn
  • Benny Hinn is reported to be a Knights Templar
  • Benny Hinn has been exposed as a charlatan through several major investigations. He is also a Dominionist and holds the same beliefs structure as that of the New Apostolic Reformation.
Why is any of this important? Well it isn’t, unless you recognize it as an important piece of a very large and ancient puzzle. Ecumenism is the new Tower of Babel around which the religious world is beginning to rally. Radical ecumenism is part of the Dominionist agenda. From the foundations of the world, it has been the plan of the enemy to unite the faiths in a universalist one world government and church that will preach another gospel and another Christ.
We need to closely examine the underpinnings of this push toward Ecumenism and Dominionism in the modern church. While peace in the Middle East sounds like a worthy cause, the truth is, there can be no peace until Jesus returns and sets up his Kingdom. The “Christ” they are preparing for has nothing to do with the Jesus of the Bible. Peace should never, and can never, be accomplished through compromise.

The second article describes life in Morning Star, Rick Joyner's ministry.

Rick features also in my blog here :

I do not recall exactly how it started or when the decisive moment was. I do not know how I got to the point of being so deeply entrenched in apostasy and deception. I cannot definitively point to one moment and declare it was the one in which the deception began and my destructive course was charted. I simply do not know. What I do know is that I was convinced. I was convinced of my being on the right path. I was one of God’s chosen, His elite, His enlightened ones. “Get into the River” was our mantra and our manifesto.
In my home church they called us the River People, and I was hopelessly immersed. Those that loved me enough had tried to warn me. However, I did not want to listen to those I perceived as being beneath me spiritually. They simply did not understand the river’s flow, I reasoned. No, I was happy being adrift.
In the beginning, I was deeply involved in a large Pentecostal church in town. I sang on the worship team and also sang for a small Vineyard church in the same city. There was whisperings at that time of a movement in Toronto, a “blessing” of epic proportion; or so I thought.Toronto was only a few hours drive from my city and so it began. We would pile into cars like hungry pilgrims and make the frequent trek to Toronto. In the winter we would brace against the cold in our heavy coats not complaining about the long lines and torturous waiting. There was always someone who we knew, going. There was always someone we knew coming back. The returning pilgrims would laugh, jerk, and shout. They seemed only too eager to impart their “fresh fire” to anyone who would stand still long enough to have hands laid on them. Those that did not understand we scoffed at. They did not want the things of God as we did. We were special.
Things began to change in my church. A split began to form. They called us the, “River People” we called them religious zealots who refused to let loose of the old wine skins. There was long ministry times at the altar at every service complete with violent jerking, animal sounds, shouting, laughing and vibrating. Then there were those long periods of “soaking” which we fondly referred to as, “carpet time.”
The old wine-skins of our church did not like the constant emphasis on the supernatural. However, we felt above reproach never realizing that sliding underneath it all with stealth precision was a hyper-grace message that was now running unchecked through the church. Scandal ensued and the ministry team split.
I remember the first time I read anything from Rick Joyner. I was in a church pew and my pastor’s wife handed me a dog-eared, photocopied chapter from Rick Joyner’s, “The Hoards of Hell are Marching”. She was enchanted by it. “It is the most wonderful, most anointed, most inspired thing you will ever read,” she gushed. Far from the most anointed thing I had ever read, I regarded it as the ranting of a lunatic. However, it had soon circulated the church and had won the hearts and captured the attention of those I deeply respected. They thought this man was a true prophet.
The chaotic crumbling of a once mighty church disturbed me beyond words. The church was in its death throes and the sounds of her slow and arduous death rattle had replaced the raucous party atmosphere we had grown to depend on. I needed the fix that the “river” provided and I knew I would have to go where I felt it might be moving. I packed a small suitcase and hitched a ride with a friend who happened to be going to Charlotte, North Carolina. This was to begin a dizzying spiral decent into darkness and deception. Deception so sly and insidious it would take well over 15 long years to recover and find the truth.
In Charlotte, my faith was sorely tested. I was a Canadian with no legal right to work in the United States and nowhere to live. I found out very quickly that I could not rent an apartment or get a bank account without an American job, license, or social security number. I had left Canada with only a small suitcase. The friend I was with had been born in the States and was able to get a job and secure an apartment for us. I slept on the hardwood floor in her living room, and she on the floor in her bedroom. I had a thin cotton sheet to cover myself with but rarely slept. I was frightened and worried. Even though our apartment was nice, we did not realize that we were in a bad part of town. We heard gunshots at night, and heard horrific screams the night our upstairs neighbor got her throat slit. It seemed so surreal – like a nightmare I could not wake up from. I did not know then, but my money supply was soon to be exhausted. I would be there six long months, living from a small suitcase, sleeping on the floor, before I would obtain a U.S.work visa. FINDING MORNINGSTAR
I had only been in Charlotte short while before tracking down and attending MorningStar. I will never forget it. When I got to the entrance door I started to shake. I was trembling from head to foot and could not talk. I remember one of the greeters asking me if I was alright. I tried to talk but could not. “It’s the Glory,” one of the church members cooed, firmly pushing me through the doors. The church was in a warehouse off Pressley Road in Charlotte. There were chairs set up and also round tables lining the walls off to the side. People milled about in the back drinking coffee and browsing the bookstore. They were mostly young people in wrinkled, unkempt clothing. It had a hippie, modern grunge feel. It was evident that many of them had not washed for the occasion, or for any occasion in a very long while. Strangely enough, it did not seem odd that there were barely sober homeless people lolling on the floor in the back drinking coffee. They seemed to blend and homogenize themselves into the atmosphere there. It almost seemed normal, like what you would expect to see there. I was both appalled and intrigued by it all. The commotion and carnival atmosphere was like a train wreck that I could not for the life of me, pull my eyes from. I had the feeling I had entered through the looking-glass and nothing would ever be the same again.
Noise and confusion were everywhere. It was before service and the place was literally in an uproar. People rushed to and fro, running and throwing things and laughing. Some sat at tables trying desperately to talk above the din while others had food spread out enjoying a meal before service. When the music started it was reminiscent of an outdoor rock concert. No one sang but the performers. Many had arms raised, their hands snaking through the air like Indian belly dancers, eyes closed in complete abandoned ecstasy. I was uncomfortable.
Surely it must be me, I kept thinking. I mean after all, what makes me think that all of these people are wrong? That would make my pastor and friends and everyone I love and respect wrong too! No, that was not possible. It must be me. Sensing my inner struggle a woman beside me told me I would get used to it. “You are not used to being in this level of anointing” she yelled above the pulsating music. I told her it felt foreign to me, wrong even, but she admonished me and told me to relax into it. I waited for the preaching; there was none. No Bible, no scripture, nothing but dreams and visions and what God was showing Rick Joyner.
When the service was over the woman leaned over to me and told me to go forward to get a number for the prophetic booths. The booths were a regular part of every service and I came to depend on this. If I was struggling, needed an answer, or just needed a lift I would go into one of the booths and have the prophetic team prophesy over me. In time I would be on the prophetic team and prophesy over others in the services and conferences. It was not long before the prophetic ministry replaced my reading of scripture and study. I did not need to read the scriptures; I was always told everything I needed to know through prophesy. No one talked about the Bible or even brought one to the service. Certainly I never saw anyone actually read or preach from one.
Although I feel certain that in all the time I spent there, I must have seen one of two people carry a Bible, there is one time in particular that I can clearly recall. A visitor had brought it; a small framed, nicely dressed man, who looked to me to be quite innocuous. He had it open on his lap and was reading it silently. Suddenly two of the ushers came rushing down the hall and standing one on each side, strong armed him out the door. He asked what he had done but his pleas were to no avail. It left me unsettled but I reasoned it away. After all, this man must have done something to deserve removal. In thinking about it now, it is curious to me that no one had a problem with the homeless drunks coming to drink coffee and loll on the floors, or even with the witches that seemed magnetically drawn to the services, but a man reading his Bible threatened them.
Rick Joyner seemed pleased that the witches were there and we were told to make them feel welcome. The witches need to hear about Jesus. While that was certainly true, the message of the gospel was not being preached. No true disciple of the occult would feel comfortable enough in a church where the true Gospel was being preached, to come back week after week with no conversion.
Joyner made it plain to us that he was not in the business of casting out demons. In fact, in one service he told us he did not want us going to him for prayer. “It is not my job to cast out your demons” he said to an incredulous audience “In fact; I like to keep a few demons in people to keep things interesting.” Years later I asked a friend of mine who had made it out of MorningStar if he remembered Rick saying that to us. “Yes” he said, “I remember it well.” He paused and thoughtfully added, “What was wrong with us?”
LEARNING APOSTASY
After my first summer at MorningStar I enrolled in their ministry school. As Joyner was quick to point out, it was not a Bible school per se. The emphasis was on prophesy, dreams, visions, and the supernatural. We were being trained for the coming harvest and what Joyner referred to as the coming civil war in the church. He was quick to tell us that we represented the blues. Like the ocean and the sky, blue stood for revelation and expanse, spiritual enlightenment, and openness of spirit. We were special, a “New Breed”. We were Joel’s Army who would go forth victoriously to build the kingdom of heaven on earth.
The grays were spoken of with disdain and derision. Gray represented the brain and those who lived in their minds without regard to the higher life of the spirit. The grays were the legalists, the old wine-skins, those seeking to trap and keep God in a box. They were painted as the staunch, stuffed and sterile church that had long since faded into antiquity and outlived its usefulness. It seems to me, looking back, that anyone that opposed Joyner and his teachings was considered a gray and not open to the “moving of the spirit.” The grays, Joyner was quick to tell us would be overcome and destroyed in the fight for the “true” church to evolve to the next level. Of course, in his estimation, the grays would not go quietly into that good night so it might be necessary for us to assist God in finishing up the job. Let me put that in plain English. We would help God kill them. Looking back, it should have been all too clear to me but it wasn’t. Deception blinds those who are entrenched in it.
The atmosphere at MorningStar was more like a crack house than a church with stupefied trance-like zombies bouncing to the pulsating music, not caring what was being fed to them. It felt good; it made us high and anesthetized us to the pain of anything unpleasant. In this world, we were special, separated, called. There was no sin discussed here, only visions of the glorious lands we would take for Christ.
The prophesies we received were always positive and we were instructed to prophesy positive things over others. As part of the prophetic team we did not even ask if one was saved before prophesying over them. Indeed, it did not matter, for this was what came to be known as “prophetic evangelism.” We were encouraged to prophesy over strangers in the street and market-place and many did. It amounted to fortune-telling and the accuracy was often chilling. Often I would shock myself as I would accurately tell things to strangers that I had no earthy way of knowing. However, even back then, there were things that bothered me about the constant emphasis on the prophetic. It started with an incident that happened while working the prophetic booth for a conference in Charlotte. A young lady came in and sat before us in the booth.
There were usually three of us to a booth who would prophesy in turn. One of the three would always be a team leader. In this case my team leader was an instructor at the School of Ministry. While we were prophesying over the young lady I saw something ominous. I knew that we were to speak positive and encouraging things and I started to wrestle over what to do. I felt responsible to warn her of what I had seen and pray with her. She left and the instructor turned to me and said, “What is it?” I told him what I had seen and he nodded his head saying, “Yes, that is correct, I saw the same thing”. I pleaded with him saying, “We have to tell her and pray with her; this is not right!” He responded that we were to speak only positive and encouraging words. I reasoned with him that itwould be a positive word if we saved her from harm, but he would not be moved. I reluctantly obeyed, but in my mind a curtain had been pulled back and I began to question. Was this gift truly from God? If it was from God, was this the way He wanted me to use it? What if the gift was not from God? What if I had been engaging in soul reading or fortune-telling? I believed in the gifts of the Spirit but something suddenly felt very wrong.
ADDICTED TO PROPHESY
The people in the church, and the throngs of people who streamed into the conferencesdepended on prophesy. They gushed and cooed over it and it was the topic of almost every conversation. If it would have been possible to stand silent in the crowd and listen, the words, “Rick said” would have been sprinkled into almost every conversation. We did not read and study to show ourselves approved but depended on the extra-biblical revelations and prognostications of others we deemed more spiritual. The same people were in the prophetic booths week after week after week and most of their lives including mine were shipwrecked beyond repair. I felt like a pod; like everything of substance had been suctioned out of me and I was left a lifeless shell with hollow eyes. I could feel myself staring out from the emptiness. I needed the next fix; the next prophesy or trance producing worship session to feel something-anything. It became obscene to listen to them prophesy that I would stand before Kings and conquer nations, when my life had spiralled into such abject ruin and despair. Had I missed God? Had I done something to displease Him? Why had He forsaken me? I was not quite ready to make the connection yet between my poor spiritual health and my steady diet of false doctrine and fluff. After all, I had such an “intimate” relationship with God surely he would tell me or send someone to prophesy over me if I was on the right path. Wouldn’t He?
FALSE INTIMACY
Intimacy seemed to be the buzzword at Morningstar. Holiness and standards were not preached. We left that to the grays. Intimacy was all we enlightened blues needed and we were encouraged to pursue it with passion. One would hope that such an “intimate” relationship with God would make us better people. After all, hanging around with greatness in the natural world tends to produce greatness. We rise or fall to the level of our associations. Would we not expect to see this all the more in the supernatural realm? If we do in fact rise or fall to the level of our associations, then what would we expect to see from those who “hang out” with God? It is ironic that the very people who had the deepest “intimacy” with God were the ones whose lives were so out of control. They could touch the heavens and bring down God but they could not balance a check-book or keep a job.
Morningstar was in fact, rife with those who either would not work, or could not keep a job. Although there were exceptions, most people lived in self-induced poverty. Many would claim that God had told them not to get a job and to live in faith. Many simply were waiting for their ministry to materialize. Visions of grandeur had been prophesied over them so many times that lowering themselves to packing groceries or being someone’s secretary seemed beneath them. They had bought the lie. Everyone had a shingle out so to speak, advertising their ministry for any who would listen. Some had primitive business cards, while others presented a more professional front and started websites. I ran across one of these sites recently and saw a woman I recognized offering to prophesy over people for a donation. It brought a sudden rush of sadness.
There were a few who had arrived at MorningStar in good financial shape but it never lasted. I watched one woman blow her savings of over a hundred thousand dollars flying from conference to conference buying books and tapes. She refused to work insisting that God had told her not to. She went through her money in short order and was left penniless. Refusing to admit her folly she slid into depression demanding to know why God had allowed this to happen to her.
I knew another lady who was on the “healing” team. Her refusal to work resulted in homelessness. She slept in her car and lived off the kindness of strangers. She showered at the house of my friend who eventually took her in. However, my friend was raising three children on her own and could not afford another mouth to feed. Evidently, this once homeless woman had no intention of finding work and preferred to live from the handouts of others. She insisted that she was in full-time ministry and that God wanted her to live in faith. I wish I could tell you that these were isolated cases but they were not. Unfortunately, I could tell of dozens more.
Of course the people who worked for the ministry were barely better off than those who would not work. Joyner was proud of telling people that he did not pay his workers enough to live. Most of the workers received minimum wage. They were told they needed to suffer for the ministry, sacrifice and trust God. They exploited their workers and treated them poorly. They also exploited the students who did everything from moving them to painting their personal houses, convincing them they were ministering unto the Lord.
FALSE JUDGEMENT
Many of the students spent a great deal of time downtown in what is now known as the NoDa Arts District in Charlotte. Although it has been cleaned up considerably and is now an expensive and trendy place to live, it was far from desirable in the late 90’s. A few alternative type galleries had store space among the old abandoned and decaying buildings, simply because rent was cheap. On Friday evenings these small galleries would hold “Art Crawls” for those brave enough to visit the area after dark. Gunshots were common. Someone had started a Coffee house in one of the old corner buildings and it quickly became the favored hang-out among the students and 30-something crowd from MorningStar. It was common to see the young people from the church drinking, smoking and groping one another on North Davidson Street. However, to say all behaved this way would be grossly unfair. There were some who truly loved God and wanted to please Him. They never lasted though. MorningStar’s door seems to be a giant churning, turn-style. The broken, empty and disillusioned leaving on one side, and the bright-eyed, initiates coming in the other.
Interestingly enough, the wife of one of the worship leaders worked at the coffee shop in NoDa. She was an attractive and unique young lady, whom Rick had called out on many occasions as being a gifted prophetess. It was evident that she had most certainly won the favor of the ministry. Her husband was gifted and I have always believed his music sprung from a true relationship with God. When a dispute over promised music royalties ensued, and this young man’s wife took a stand, Rick publicly disgraced her. He called her out publicly, labelled her a witch, and forbid anyone from the ministry to fellowship with her in any fashion. This included frequenting the coffee-house. Oddly enough, she was the darling of the ministry while she was compliant, and was not called a witch untilafter a disagreement with Rick. Exposing as witches, those who were non-compliant was not uncommon. It was usually the ones who had been praised and held up as an example before the congregation just a short while before. In my mind this made Joyner look foolish. He was the great and terrible Oz kicking at Toto so as not to reveal the man behind the curtain. Of course once the curtain is pulled back, what do you do with the revelation? Reality is bitter, especially when one wants so desperately to believe. Do you pretend you haven’t seen? I did, or at least I tried.
THE MORAVIAN FALLS PROJECT
When I arrived at MorningStar in the 90’s the fellowship was abuzz with talk of a prophetic retreat being built-in the rural North Carolina Mountains. It was spoken of often by Joyner and his sentiments about the project were openly shared. It was affectionately referred to by Joyner as “The Moravian Falls Project.” He had purchased 400 acres of rural mountain property near the whistle-stop village of Moravian Falls. The land, he claimed, possessed a unique spiritual destiny. Joyner had a fascination and love for the Moravians and there was no doubt the area had distinct historical value. According to Joyner, the rural community of Moravian Falls had been an epi-center for Moravian newspaper publishing in the area. Their local paper had reportedly been called “The Morning Star.” Naturally this was a sign from God for Rick.
Although I digress, I must assert the fact that for Joyner and his followers, everything was a sign from God. I can still vividly remember Robin McMillan, a member of the MorningStar leadership team, picking up trash from the street on his way to a meeting. I remember sitting there incredulous as he held up each item of trash and told us its prophetic interpretation. In the mind-bending environment cultivated by the experience-seeking MorningStar crowd, everything became a sign. Seeing leaves blowing in the wind might be a sign that God wanted us to turn over a new leaf. Finding a penny in the street might cause us to believe it was time for change. We lived like this! Of course, when you are living in the Land of Oz, seeing colored horses or tiny men singing, “Ooompah,” is not at all strange. What is common place in your environment is never viewed as peculiar. This is why women stay with their abusive husbands and why many choose to stay with abusive ministries. I was terrified that now, having discovered that the Great and terrible Oz was just an illusion, I might in time discover that God Himself was an illusion. If I left the false to find the God of the Bible, would I in turn find just another man behind a curtain? It was tyranny of the familiar. The tyranny that you know is always less frightening than the tyranny that you do not know.
Joyner was very adamant that God had instructed him to build the Moravian Falls Project. He stated publicly on several occasions that he had been told by God to construct it out of quality material and craftsmanship because it “had to last.” In Joyner’s mind all signs had pointed to confirmation of these instructions. One of these confirming signs was the fact that the area had been the focus of the longest running court battle in United States history. The Moravians, who had settled there, had wanted the land deeded to God. . Whether this is true or not, I do not know. However, the fact that Joyner attached special significance to this land because of it is unquestionable.
The retreat was to be a place where the misunderstood prophetic community could gather and be fed and restored. One of the aspects most often talked about was the twenty-four-hour worship center where they planned to offer non-stop worship “before the Lord” twenty-four hours a day. There would be lots where people could live full-time and also cottages where people could come for a season to be refreshed and restored. Rick petitioned donations from his Charlotte fellowship, from his Morningstar conference attendees, and from his international base of supporters. “I go to prepare a place for you,” Rick would say, and we would smile and clap. This vision of a prophetic utopian community was certainly no secret. He talked about it frequently and openly. Many people were eager to give towards, and invest in, the vision for this community, trusting that Joyner would do as he said.
Many people from MorningStar bought land for personal homes in the area while others bought land to develop and sell as lots. The land prices in this small farming community sky-rocketed. However, the locals were not happy. The land was being priced out of reach for most locals and whisperings of MorningStar’s mysticism made this highly conservative church-going community nervous. MorningStar’s later refusal to pay land taxes did nothing to help the way most locals viewed this “ministry.”
Male students from the ministry school were often petitioned to go and help “Build the Kingdom.” Those with carpentry or painting skills were especially encouraged. Pleas for hands-on help were often given to the Charlotte fellowship and there seemed to be a steady stream of people going up and coming back from the mountains to help. There was no remuneration. They were expected to serve, and many starry-eyed students were happy to do so, gushing over the fact that they were helping Rick. If Joyner had need of them they were happy to serve, whatever the personal cost might be. There were murmurings and mumblings among the ranks of those returning, however it was difficult to get anyone to speak openly about, “The Project”. No one wanted speak against the Lord’s “anointed” or question Rick. I remember once asking one of the men who had been there and he quickly changed the subject. The curiosity was too much for me – I had to know.
I asked several people where Moravian Falls was located and how I would get there but was always met with the same response. It was in fact very difficult to find unless you knew the area and knew exactly where to go. It was well over an hours drive and getting directions from anyone was near impossible. I soon discovered that few people in the Charlotte fellowship even knew how to get there and the amount of people who had been there was in fact very small. This was curious to me considering the fact that it was being built as a public retreat and funds for the project were being raised on an ongoing basis.
It was almost a year later that I finally made it to the area. A sister church of the Charlotte fellowship was holding a women’s conference at Apple Lodge in Moravian Falls. I thought of it as the perfect opportunity to see this mystical land that they claimed held such infinite spiritual energy. When I saw “The Moravian Falls Project” my jaw dropped. There was nothing there. I could not believe it! I could see Rick Joyner’s home, another personal home on the property, and a privately owned lodge. That was it. All the talk, all the hype, and there was nothing there. Nothing! I was unconvinced, and kept asking others where it was. Even though I was seeing it with my own eyes, I was slow to believe. I had been told it existed so many times that not even the facts could convince me it was not true.
Apple Lodge was always spoken about as if it was part of the “Moravian Falls Project” but in actuality it was independently owned by Harry and Louise Bizzell. They were a pleasant couple, who were well spoken and had an unusual mixture of worldly sophistication and down home Southern hospitality. Harry was a kindly man with warm eyes and voice that inspired trust. Louise was a perfect hostess whose cooking would leave you talking for days. They had built a breathtakingly beautiful bed and breakfast type lodge on Apple Hill which was open to the public. Listen to Rick Joyner as he explains how both he and the Bizzells came to live in Moravian Falls.
“A couple of weeks after I met Bob Jones, I received a call from him. He told me that the Lord had called me to “the mountains of North Carolina” and that he had seen the place that I was to go in a dream. Having been told myself to go to the mountains of North Carolina, but seemingly not being able to get past Charlotte, I was more than a little interested in this dream.
Bob went on to say that I was called to a place that was 100 miles from where I was (The Lamb’s Chapel) and 40 miles from the Tennessee border. To get to this land we would have to go almost due North on a major highway (which turned out to be Interstate 77) and then west on another highway (which was US 421). He then described the property itself, saying there was a mountain overseeing the property that had a rock face, and there was a beacon on another mountain close by that could be seen from the property. He said that the gospel would go out to the world from that mountain. He said the land was measured from oak trees to white rocks, and there was a red-roofed building in the middle. I asked Bob if the red roof could be a rusted tin roof, and he said that he thought it could be.
……I immediately told Harry Bizzell about the dream that Bob had. Harry was excited about this dream, but for me, not him. He and Louise were sure that their destiny was in Charlotte and that they would not leave their present location at The Lamb’s Chapel. As Harry was telling me this, I looked at the picture hanging above him, and I suddenly felt a prophetic anointing. The picture was of a chair that I recognized in the Bizzell’s back yard, but it had mountains in the background. I asked Harry who had painted the picture. He said that his sister had painted it in their backyard and gave it to them as a gift. I then asked why she put mountains in it, and there was a heavy presence that seemed to engulf us both. I could tell Harry felt it too, but he was adamant that they were not supposed to leave Charlotte. I disagreed, but knew the Lord would have to persuade the Bizzells.
Soon after this the Lord spoke to me and said that Harry and Louise’s destiny in the mountains was so crucial that it actually held “life and death consequences” for their family. I felt a terrible burden from the Lord about this, but I did not feel that I could share this with the Bizzells without it really seeming manipulative. Even so, I knew I had to share it with them for their sakes. I was very clumsy when I shared this burden with them, but they took it very graciously but still remained adamant that they were called to Charlotte. I felt that I had done all that I could and would not say anything else, even though the burden did not go away…..
As I mentioned, I had been compelled to share a warning with Harry and Louise Bizzells that their calling to move to Moravian Falls was so important that it held “life and death consequences for their family.” A few months later, Harry accompanied me to Kansas City where we spent some time with Bob Jones. When praying for Harry and Louise, Bob saw a death in the family coming before the Bizzells moved into their purpose. Harry and I assumed this would be his mother, who was very old and was advancing into senility. This was sadly not the case. Not long after this, Harry and Louise’s young granddaughter died in a tragic car accident.
…..I was shown that Spicer had prayed and offered herself for the purposes of God, even to the taking of her life. She had done this with great sincerity, and in heaven she is a martyr who lay down her life for the purposes of the Lord. Spicer Wallace did not die in vain, and she has a great investment in her family’s destiny and in the Moravian Falls project. Soon after her death, the Bizzells, who had land in Moravian Falls, were living there preceding me by several years.”
So, in essence, the Bizzells did not feel that they were to be involved in the “Project”. However Rick warned them that their move to Moravian Falls was in fact the will of God and their disobedience held life or death consequences for both them and their family! When their grand-daughter subsequently died in a car accident Rick states that God had revealed to him that Spicer had offered herself to God making her a martyr and her death an investment into the destiny of “The Project”.
It is also interesting to note that Joyner speaks of another man in connection with the “Project” who was supposedly punished for his disobedience. This man’s name was Tom Hess who ran a ministry entitled “The House of Prayer for All Nations,” near the Mount of Olives in Jerusalem. According to Joyner, this man had been given a few tracts of land in the United States and had been instructed (by the donor) to use it for a “prophetic” purpose. One of the tracts of land just happened to be in Moravian Falls. Hess met with his board and it was decided that they would give Joyner a ninety-nine year lease on the property for a dollar per year. However Joyner had apparently been warned by the Lord not to accept anything with strings attached, so he declined the offer. Joyner said that donations for Hess’s ministry immediately dried up. Paul Cain, who Joyner insisted did not knowanything about the situation, later prophesied to Hess that he had some land that had a prophetic destiny and the land was being wrongly tied up. Cain related to Hess that God showed him that he needed to give the land back to those who had given it to him in order to avoid the Lord’s judgment on his ministry. As Joyner tells it, Hess immediately started receiving donations again once he released the land.
It is curious to me that Paul Cain believed that God would judge this man for not giving land freely to Joyner, while he himself was actively involved in homosexual activity and an alcoholic lifestyle. In this strange world I was a part of, you can plainly see what sorts of things brought the greatest punishment.
Louise and Harry Bizzell were never officially a part of MorningStar and yet Joyner claims they helped lay the foundation. The Bizzells had built their lodge in the middle of an apple orchard in the mountains of Moravian Falls; an orchard which according to legend, was planted by Johnny Appleseed. A ridge of land ran above the property owned by the Bizzells, and Joyner’s first purchase was this forty-six acre tract as well as a small cabin below the ridge. It was in this cabin that Joyner penned his mystical New Age epic, “The Final Quest”. As an interesting side note, I remember being in a service in which Joyner spoke fondly of the cabin and the spiritually active environment there. He added that he no longer let any one else use the cabin because they were polluting the atmosphere and interfering with the spiritual activity. It had struck me as such an odd thing to say.
After getting over the initial shock of learning that the only thing the Moravian Falls Project consisted of was Joyner’s Personal Home, the Bizzells privately owned home, and their Apple Hill Lodge, I settled in for the conference. I must admit that the conference was not my motivation in going. I had started to question and research vehemently. However, I had been so steeped in the mysticism and aberrant doctrine of this movement that it was difficult to let go of the ideas and beliefs that had obtained such tenacious stronghold on my mind. Before leaving Canada, I had gone to two colleges and had also obtained a university degree from a prestigious, world-class institution. Now I found it hard to even think my own thoughts in a logical and coherent manner. Every thing was a sign and a symbol, even a fortune cookie could be seen as a message from God. What had happened to me? My mind had truly been made over and perverted by the garbage I was ingesting. Fortunately, my heart was not totally corrupt and there was still a small ember of desire for the true and living God. I thank God that in Isaiah 42:3 (KJV), He Promises that:
“A bruised reed shall he not break, and the smoking flax shall he not quench: he shall bring forth judgment unto truth.”
If the flame is still lit, no matter how diffused and ineffective, He will not quench it, but thoughtfully and lovingly watch over it, tend it, and protect it until the flame can once again burn with intensity. That is what God did for me. He protected that small smouldering ember within and tended it until I reached a time where I could receive His Truth. He was faithful to me, even when I was not faithful to Him.
LISTENING
I can not remember much about the conference at Apple Lodge but one experience is indelibly etched in my memory. It was a warm sunny day and the mountains looked intoxicatingly beautiful and inviting. A group of ladies were lying on the lawn. I can not quite recall what we were doing out there, but I do remember us holding hands and praying at one point. After the prayers, some of us had dropped to the grass and were just lazing around watching the clouds and enjoying the fresh mountain air. Suddenly, I became aware of the gurgling of a mountain stream. It was unmistakable and I listened with my eyes closed, smiling, thinking about how refreshing it sounded. I do not remember how long I stayed like that, eyes closed, listening, but eventually I looked over at a friend and said, “Let’s find it!” She looked at me bewildered and asked me what I meant. I told her I was referring to the brook or stream I was hearing. She shook her head and said, “There is no stream here.” I looked at her like she had just grown another head. There most certainly was a stream, I was listening to it. “LISTEN,” I said, raising my voice a little higher than I had anticipated. She smiled, closed her eyes again, and said nothing.
Now I was angry. “I know you hear that. If you don’t want to go then I will go alone, but don’t pretend that you don’t hear it!”
To my complete annoyance she said nothing, but got up and walked to another group of women. Within earshot of everyone, she said, “Tell her there is no stream here.”
They laughed and nodded their heads vigorously, “Nope, no stream here.” I got up, brushed the grass and leaves from my clothing, and started to walk away. “Go find the stream”, they taunted, “Let us know where it is!” How dare they mock me! I stopped in the grass and listened not knowing what direction to go. “What’s wrong”, they shouted. I did not respond. I couldn’t hear it anymore and confusion was starting to overpower me. I went back to the spot where I had been laying and listened intently, but there was nothing; nothing but the sounds of birds and insects and leaves blowing in the crisp mountain breeze.
I looked at the women pleadingly. Their mocking turned to understanding and they one after the other, explained to me that I was having a supernatural experience. There is no stream, and they reassured me by telling me this had happened to others. Somehow it did not reassure me. It did not reassure me at all! It bothered me on a very deep level. It also spoke a deep penetrative truth to me.
I had spent a great portion of my spiritual life chasing after what I had heard. In fact, it was a very common thing in the circles I moved, for people to ask me what I was hearing. They asked me the question and I in turn asked others. When we wanted direction, or confirmation, we asked those we felt were gifted prophetically what they were “hearing”. In fact, I still occasionally have people talk to me about personal things and ask me what I am hearing. It is as if they feel that I can hear from God for them and give them direction or interpret their dreams. My response now to all who would ask, is to seek God on your own behalf, read His word, sit under Godly counsel, and hear God for yourself! It is not that I feel that God can not speak through me, or through anyone in fact, that has submitted their life to Him and is saturated in His Word. However, I refuse to be a fortune-teller or someone else’s connection to a God they are not willing to seek and truly know for themselves.
The experience with the water showed me that I could not trust what I was hearing. It may havesounded good, it may have sounded appealing, it may have sounded right, and it most certainly had sounded real, but it was just an illusion. Much like the dreams that populate our sleep dissolve in morning’s light, it too dissipated with the dawn of reasoning.
Although this was my first experience with hearing things that did not exist in the natural, it would not be my last. It was only a few months later that I was in a prayer meeting at an associated church in Pineville, North Carolina, and heard the gurgling of water. It was a tiny church and on this occasion there were only four or five of us present. I had stood up, mentioning to them that I was going to check the bathrooms. Someone had evidently left a tap on. The few who were there insisted they had not heard anything, but I was undeterred. Like the earlier experience in the mountains, the sound stopped when I tried to find its source.
In another experience around this same time, I heard a bell ringing. Lest you think that perhaps I was simply having auditory hallucinations, let me assure you that the bell ringing incident was heard by at least two other people.
However, the strangest incident by far, happened in my home. It occurred in my first year at MorningStar and left me very shaken. I had moved to a nice house near Fort-Mill South Carolina, near the old Heritage USA site. I had a house-mate who had left to go to Florida for a few days. She had a regular routine when she came in and it seldom if ever, varied. I would hear her car crunching up the gravel driveway; footsteps on the porch, her keys jingling in the lock, and hear her call for her dog in a sing-song voice. She did this every evening; every evening without fail.
On this particular evening, I had a friend over and we were chatting in the other end of the house. We heard my house-mate’s car on the gravel drive, heard her foot-steps on the porch, the jingle of her keys in the lock, and her familiar sing- song voice. Her dog tore across the house barking wildly, and my friend and I jumped up and scurried through the kitchen to welcome her home. There was no one there.
The dog was upset now and barking incessantly. I reached for the door, thinking she had gone out to get her suitcase, but the door was still locked. I flipped the latch, opened the door, and looked out in the driveway. There was no one. Neither my house-mate nor her car was anywhere to be seen. I turned to my visiting friend who by this time had a confused and almost frightened look on his face. He walked outside, looked around the house then stood on the porch staring blankly into the darkness.
“Where could she have gone that fast?” I finally stammered. He turned to me with the oddest look and said, “I don’t think she was ever here.” I laughed at him, not willing to entertain the idea. Even the dog was still looking for her. Her voice had been so unmistakably clear! Fear, confusion, and a sense of defilement washed over me. I turned to my friend and asked him if I was crazy. I could feel the prick of tears as I started reaching frantically in my mind for an explanation, any explanation! I had heard the car, I had heard the keys, I had heard the door open, and I had heard her call for her dog. My friend looked down at the floor and whispered haltingly, “I heard it, you heard it and even the dog heard it. Something or someone was here.”
My house-mate called several hours later. I asked her where she was and if she had been home earlier that evening. She said no, that she was still in Florida and would not be home for another day or so. She wanted to know why I would ask such a thing. I did not want to upset her. I said that there was no reason at all, and told her to have a safe trip back.
I can not explain why I had these strange experiences or why I had any of the other unexplainable phenomena that seemed to happen so frequently in this river I was now submerged in. However, they did start to open my eyes to the fact that simply believing something to be true did not make it so. Deception at this level was possible, even for someone who loved the Lord and considered herself sincere. I may have been sincere, but unfortunately I was sincerely wrong. This “River” I had so enthusiastically waded into years earlier, had deceived me. It was now more like a stagnant pond, bubbling in its own putrid filth. I wanted out.
Author’s Note: Adrift in the River of God, was originally written and posted in three separate parts. It had always been my intention to come back and write the fourth and final part which would give the original posts more of a sense of completion and closure. However, it was difficult and painful to revisit and I put it off for many years.
This year, I felt the Lord had me expand the original posts into a book and include the total testimony of my journey into and out of deception. The book is called, “The View Beneath,” and its final chapters are currently being written! Pray for its completion and that God will allow it to fall into the hands of those who need it most.  END  both posts by Misha McCumber
