American Odyssey (Uk Name-Odyssey)

American Odyssey (known in the UK under its original title Odyssey[2][3]) is an American thriller television series which premiered on April 5, 2015, on NBC.[4] Created by Peter Horton, Adam Armus and Kay Foster, the series revolves around the discovery by a U.S. Army team on a secret mission in Mali, that a major U.S. company has been funding Islamist terror groups and the cover-up of it, which involves the attack and killing of the team soldiers by private military contractors sent by the same company.

The series stars Anna Friel, Peter Facinelli, Jake Robinson, Jim True-Frost, Treat Williams, Nate Mooney, Elena Kampouris, Daniella Pineda, Sadie Sink, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje and Omar Ghazaoui. It is envisioned by the creators as a modern-day take on Homer's Odyssey.[5]

The final episode of the series was shown tonight. A kind of gripping military tale in the style of the CIA Homeland which ran to several series.

There was a similar moment in Homeland as in this episode, where all too human characters admit that they are in something they have no control over, that they have lost all question of choice in the god like roles they have chosen to play.

How true to life these messes are. In fact on reflection this is the Genesis 3 conundrum.....

if I make myself god, I am instead "played like pawn" in a game that never has a lifegiving outcome, but rather one that sucks life out of planet earth.

All the characters bar a handful  already had their hands tied. They had allowed themselves to be framed by greater powers, bribed, controlled by their own greed, by secrets they did not want others to know. or by personal lust for power.

All these things Jesus addressed in His temptations in the wilderness. He was the ONLY FREE MAN. The strong man in His case had been bound.

History shows repeatedly that the "independent self" position has embroiled us in something we cannot get out of. EXCEPT we renounce our delusion, and come into the LIFE OF CHRIST.

Americans would count themselves free, but already by 1914 they had been manipulated into the War of Independence and then into Civil War. House of Rothschild and their masonic lodges had brought about these wars for banker's gain. The blog writer personally knows Anna Friel and is sad the tale was wound up at the end of
the first series when a second had been planned. It was visually rich and had many many plot components.
