Prayer, Healing and Body Fussing

Testimony through Facebook
Roger Webb
19 hrs ·
STAGE 4 COLON, LUNGS & LIVER CANCER DESTROYED
July 19, 2017

July 19, 2017 I ministered in Clermont, Florida and a dear woman and her husband drove over 2 hours to come to the miracle service. As I laid hands on her she was slain in the Spirit. After being there for a while shaking under the power of God she got up and I asked her how she felt and her response was "I feel wonderful and I feel like I can run" Then all of a sudden she took off running laps around the church which it is a big sanctuary seats 1,400. She returned to her doctors a couple days later to find all cancer had left her body. Here is her husbands own words in a testimony he sent me today Aug 2, 17

Here is Chris Shaheen own words...
Happy to report that my wife Bonnie Shaheen who was prayed for on June 19th at Roger's service in Clermont was totally healed of stage 4 colon cancer which had spread to her lung and her liver and was stage 4 in those areas as well. To this day she has been free of all symptoms which were present when we arrived at the service, severe coughing, lack of breath, inability to eat, lost 40lbs in 6 months, unable to walk more than 100 ft without resting. I witnessed these symptoms first hand over the 6 months from December 2016 through June 2017. I know that today, in her own words, she said that she is in the best physical shape she has been in since her twenties. Don't tell me cancer is a death sentence! It was just like every other trick and lie of the devil when it came face to face with God's truth - it had to flee! I am grateful that my son-in-law Nick Rimert was bold enough to share with us what the Lord spoke to him about how and when and where my wife would be healed. He had to obey what God told him and act on it. We then had to believe he had heard from God and act on what he shared. This is the body of Christ in action, and the devil still has not figured out how to deal with that!

Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today and forever. #preacherinthewild

Chris Welch continues

Jesus said don't be like the Gentiles heaping up prayers.
Do you get that?
This is how outsiders pray.
This is how young born again people pray.
This is how charismatic people pray....
THIS IS NOT HOW MATURE PEOPLE PRAY.
The one is a pattern of orphanhood jumping through hoops to make the universe run the way it thinks the universe should go. This is none the more subtle than in areas of the Tree of Good
like healing....Norman Grubb calls it body fussing
like debt
like bad relationships
like joblessness....
we think in separation
as alone people
somehow trying to get through to a distant God....
Satan USES the negative to leverage us into that thinking and stay there.....
HAH....see that cancer...God has abandoned you
HAH see that person in your family not talking to you what kindof a relation are you?
Hah see you never could hold down a job
And CHALLENGED in our inferiority.....read that doubt....
we start heaping up things faster and faster to get out of it....
fasting, praying, giving to this giving to that
lighting candles
the charismatic equivalent : rattling off in tongues like motorbike
if i can just get enough prayer in
If i can just shoehorn enough into this creation maybe i can tip the balance
If i just rub Aladdin's Lamp enough.....

We had a cancer victim in Havant Church. By the Spirit I was led to do what I often do here....
Launched into her....like this
" And so what if you do die?"
"Say the worst happens and you do in fact die?"
Now humanly this isn't what the London school of Diplomats would advise.....but they don't walk in Jesus Christ.
You see, right there, right there before we could even consider praying....sitting right over her eyelids, squatting right over her shoulders like a foul green Jabba the Hutt
was a son of Heth demon.
Heth or Hittites means terror.
How on earth you can pray sensibly about anything with jabba the Hutt pressing his slimy green fingers all over your ears????
So I addressed her worst fear and said in the same spirit that Jesus talked when he said
Don't fear the one who has power over your body (or Death) fear Him who is absolute Lord and has power over the second Death.
God has created this universe with a safe bubble...two deaths.
Satan only had one death in heaven.....so when he chose his own way he was flung out.
Our central respect preoccupation yes FEAR if you like, but in the clean Holy Spirit sense, has to be the LORD of LORDS.
"So if you die, the worst ever thing that will happen to you is that you will be with Jesus
forever
and ever
and ever
and ever.....
and ever
and ever
and ever....you get the picture

Sadly the Jabba the Hutt over her ears twisted this whole thing to:
"You are condemning me to death."
I saw her 6 weeks later at a church barbecue and she accused me of cursing her life....
(Once the fear had gone, we could have reached her....but she chose Jabba the Hutt instead)
No matter all the prayer that went up at her bedside, and I firmly wasn't allowed near....
She died. And her husband still blames me.

We don't pray like Gentiles.
We go into our inner Room and get a glimpse from heaven's throne about what is next on earth. Then we try to get a fix on where our particular situation and need fits in or doesn't to the whole picture.
Then we COMMAND< speak into being as sons of God from that "seeing"
that "advance viewing" of which bit of heaven is to be exported to earth's Kingdom building site next.
Now en route there are all kinds of things....
Lets take cancers.....

Right now they are developing genetic manipulation and the use of our very own DNA to cure cancer.
Several decades ago the pharmaceutical companies already had the solutions to all or most cancers....but they weren't going to make them enough money, so the tremendous wait, the tremendous energy to raise money through cancer charities, has been all about developing expensive bespoke treatments that will save the phamaceutical companies from almost certain ruin if cancer is not there in their business model.

Naturopathy is simply natural solutions to boosting the bodies natural "policing " of rogue cells or immunity. And 80% goes on in our own guts if they are healthy.
Hence lacto fermentation which sensible communities unlike England have been practicing with yogurts and kombucha and kimchi for thousands of years. Bit it makes Big Pharma no money whatsoever.

Jesus ascended and gave gifts unto men.
Some are transient.
Some are like ministries
Some people in the Body of Christ just have a high rate of success with cancers or particular strains
As when Jesus was here, the Spirit does "waves of healing" in church and outside using His people.
Really this is the Holy Spirit going behind the scenes, behind creation where demon spirits are tweaking things, and he is pressing the reset button !!!!
This happens a lot when there are experiences of "Open Heaven" in a revival or over a geographical area.
But God is about whole of Life.

I may be walking in Galatians 2.20 believing....but I am still fat....so obviously I am missing the mark. Chima Tasie Freeman referred to that the other day.
Am I panicking. Am I going to feverishly do some fad diet by my "works"? Nope.....but God is increasing wisdom quite naturally about what to eat and how.
We don't heap things up anymore....
Our whole lifestyle and modus operandi is
what Buddhists call centering down....
well we center down not to an ALONE I in the Universe
Not to an impersonal force or power
we enter our inner room and find a lovely fusion of our heavenly Dad there and my life hidden in Him.
It's a whole different way of living and praying
And no....apart from that I can't give you a
10 steps to the perfect prayer life....
because we are nolonger in that Tree of the knowledge of Good and Evil and "steps" to this and that....
we are connected through the death and resurrection of Jesus to God
DIRECT

Alarming statistic by Roger Webb on Facebook... ROCHESTER, Minn. — Nearly 70 percent of Americans are on at least one prescription drug, and more than half take two, Mayo Clinic and Olmsted Medical Center researchers say. Antibiotics, antidepressants and painkilling opioids are most commonly prescribed, their study found.Jun 19, 2013.
Now see why many do not attend miracle services. I have found many like their drugs and monthly checks. They get healed (then)something has to change. #preacherinthewild

OCD Church : Believing yourself "into" something you should be believing out from.

Obsessive–compulsive disorder (OCD) is an anxiety disorder characterized by intrusive thoughts that produce uneasiness, apprehension, fear, or worry, by repetitive behaviors aimed at reducing anxiety, or by a combination of such thoughts (obsessions) and behaviors (compulsions). Symptoms may include repetitive handwashing; extensive hoarding; preoccupation with sexual or aggressive impulses, or with particular religious beliefs; aversion to odd numbers; and nervous habits, such as opening a door and closing it a certain number of times before one enters or leaves a room. These symptoms can be alienating and time-consuming, and often cause severe emotional and financial distress. The acts of those who have OCD may appear paranoid and come across to others as psychotic. However, OCD sufferers generally recognize their thoughts and subsequent actions as irrational, and they may become further distressed by this realization.

OCD is the fourth-most-common mental disorder, and is diagnosed nearly as often as asthma and diabetes mellitus.[1] In the United States, one in 50 adults has OCD.[2] The phrase "obsessive–compulsive" has become part of the English lexicon, and is often used in an informal or caricatured manner to describe someone who is meticulous, perfectionistic, absorbed in a cause, or otherwise fixated on something or someone.[3] Although these signs may be present in OCD, a person who exhibits them does not necessarily have OCD, and may instead have obsessive–compulsive personality disorder (OCPD), an autism spectrum disorder, or no clinical condition.

Codependency or codependence is a tendency to behave in overly passive or excessively caretaking ways that negatively impact one's relationships and quality of life. It also often involves putting one's needs at a lower priority than others while being excessively preoccupied with the needs of others. [1] Codependency can occur in any type of relationship, including in families, at work, in friendships, and also in romantic, peer or community relationships.[1] Codependency may also be characterized by denial, low self-esteem, excessive compliance, and/or control patterns.[1]

Codependency describes behavior, thoughts and feelings that go beyond normal kinds of self-sacrifice or care taking. For example parenting is a role that requires a certain amount of self-sacrifice and giving a child's needs a high priority, although a parent could nevertheless still be codependent towards their own children if the care taking or parental sacrifice reached unhealthy or destructive levels.[1] Generally a parent who takes care of their own needs (emotional and physical) in a healthy way will be a better caretaker, whereas a codependent parent may be less effective, or may even do harm to a child.[1]

Codependency does not refer to all caring behavior or feelings, but only those that are excessive to an unhealthy degree.[2]

The dictionary definition of codependency differs, in that it requires one person to be physically or psychologically addicted, such as to heroin, and the second person to be psychologically dependent on that behavior. [3]

Chris Welch Facebook clips w/c 8th Nov 2010
‎"Doctor,I've got prayer OCD. Please help."
"How does it show?"
"I'm a struggling alone-me trying to break through to God. I'm with a group of friends who have the same problem."

‎"What you are part of Prayer Anonymous?"

"No,we're all still co-dependent."
"That's serious"
"Yes doctor. We pray for our prayer meetings.Sometimes we pray for our prayer meetings about our revival meetings.I have to sing and pray for a certain amount of time or I go out of the Spirit and things go wrong."
"How about your friends and family?"
"Oh,they fit round the OCD."
‎"I see...."

"Thing is,praying to a separate "out there" kind of God is so hard.I mean how do you know you have done enough? When will He be pleased enough with me?We're trying to heap enough words like the Gentiles do to get a revival going."
"Do you ever feel you've broken through?"
"Yes,wonderfully so. But I can't live there, so I begin the cycle all over again."

"Do you know anything about the gospel at all?"
"Yes.I know I'm poor and wretched and God is way out there and I have to work very hard in prayer to reach Him.I have soaking CDs in my car.I have sermons and prayer aids and I have a whole bunch of co -OCD people helping me?"
"Did no one lay a proper foundation of the true gospel in any of you?"

---------------------------------
Chris Welch There's a time when you lose your religion to gain the Living Christ, but putting off the glittering clothing may be the hardest thing you ever suffer in your life.

Linda Novek Oh yes...and not in leaving the dead doing behind, but in what your loved ones think, who are still engrained! Hard to be, "labeled", like a traitor or something. But I understand where they are, of course.

Chris Welch Actually,as horrible as it sounds...part of the glittering clothing is "that part of us" that has been relating with" that part of them". Most times...not always, we receive them back in a resurrection form , days, months years later. And if not, hundreds or thousands of new people to fill the void!!!!This is especially true in our day as we see masses crawling out of the woodwork...............OF THE CROSS.

------------------------------------------------

Chris Welch I nearly never have times of prayer.I certainly have as little as possible to do with OCD prayer,Why? Because as a born again son of God ,I AM prayer.Jesus is that in me.If He is not that in you yet,He soon will be...believe in the power of that Jesus life within you, forming the same Person in you as in me.

Judy Lawrence yep, can't be anything else. Blessings to you Chris.

Allen Mills obsessive compulsive disorder prayer, prayer based on illogical fears and assumptions, and worry. an ocd prayer has no faith in it.
2 Timothy 1:7
God has not given us a spirit of fear, but a spirit of power, of love, and a sound mind.

Chris Welch Allen,OCD prayers are when the "activity" takes over from the spirit reality.Gentiles heap up their prayers. We are told to enter our inner room and meet with our Daddy God there. We "shut"our door to the ceaseless brain traffic that keeps chuntering on with sense information about how bad things are and how pointless it is communing with the God of the Universe. But precisely in this place of Union do we receive the secrets that we then "faith into being" and later shout from the rooftops.Like a baby originating from 2 cells....these things grow and burst forth into material manifestation! You can see a real world example if you listen to the 1989 3rd level message...then see what's happening on the net 20 years later.

(much of this last statement comes from Ed Miller).

OCD CHURCH

It seems strange to be writing in quite a negative way, but a very similar way to Gerald Coates,George Tarleton,David Mansell, John Noble, Maurice Smith, just some of the London house church leaders of the early to mid 70s. In 'Fulness' magazine and various booklets and books the prophetic word went out that we should meet "to purpose". That God was a God of purpose, and we should be sensitive to His voice and meet together in this purpose.

Ofcourse, now things are more subtle. The ways of the Spirit have now become this lethal mix of Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil behaviour systems and genuine Holy Spirit activity.

From David Swan "Moving Into the Holy of Holies"
Those at the Holy Place level may occasionally achieve some spiritual exploits. This middle stage (the Holy Place level) also speaks of the soulish realm and a mixture of the flesh and the spirit. At times, the spirit comes forth beautifully where upon it blesses, but at other times, the ugly flesh is manifested too, AND DOES HARM. This half flesh and half spirit is typified by Ishmael! This soulish mixture is not your final destination as it is impure and imperfect.
God DETESTS and ABHORS such mixture. Leviticus 19:19 warns against such mixture and compromises: " you shall keep My statutes" You shall not let your livestock breed with another kind. You shall not sow your field with mixed seed. Nor shall a garment of mixed linen and wool come upon you".

This mixed level is not your final destination. If you want to move from the soul level to the spirit level and if you want to do great exploits for God, you must go beyond the Holy Place.END

OCD Church is made up of repetitive activities for the sake of the activity.Gentiles heap up words etc
People soon learn that there is "some sort of high" to be obtained by singing certain songs.
OCD Church recognizes that by having prayer meetings about everything (at this Spirit-filled level) they can just about be guaranteed some success in everything undertaken. They are like Jacob mechanically "using " faith to draw in speckled and striped sheep, through special spiritual techniques.
OCD Church people have no clear identity about who they are. When not actively engaged in spiritual issues and wellworn pathways they quickly "revert" to relating according to who they still think they are. An evangelist visited a conference of ours and one of the worship group, during the session break, quickly asked the evangelist to lay hands on him to receive more of this evangelistic gift and anointing. He sank immediately to the floor. Totally oblivious to what was happening two feet away, the rest of the worship group guffawed and japed through lunch. For them, this was a time to refresh and recharge and just have a good time in order to be ready to lead the next session. All of them are used to this form of prayer and have been there themselves, so i guess did not think anything of it. I felt extreme dispeace about this though.

OCD Church people use prayer as a kind of building up enough water behind a dam in order that hopefully one day the dam will burst. This blindfolded dart players method is used for praying and believing for
some vague revival
some sense of personal breakthrough
for believing themselves somehow into some transformation of the Cross
for the death of the Old Man
for some kind of anointing
that some day they will have a ministry like their dear leadership, when the fact that they are praying in this ludicrous way calls into question the very ministry of their leadership
for some unity to come
for a more successful life and relationships

OCD churches cannot be addressed in a mature way, and ministries must pick their way through half-beliefs and half truths to try and get to the bottom of what Spirit foundation has actually been laid.

"Hereafter we see no man after the flesh" reads we see every man and woman after the flesh.

OCD Churches do not understand these things

that we have died with Christ, the struggle is over.

the Two Goats, and the fact there is no independent self-operated self

that meetings are part of one seamless life flow of the Indwelling Christ -they only identify Christ as a particular feeling in a meeting.

they do not understand about the " freefall of faith" and losing control

OCD Churches are typified by

repeated prayer yielding no or few results in healing and the miraculous

controlling religious spirits that cut right across the Lord Jesus Christ bringing His glory

lack of recognition of Spirit normality, because it just isnt wacky or freaky enough...how many would have recognised Rees Howells in the street? Yet in terms of prayer at least, is credited with the serious overthrow of the dictators in the Second World War. Yes I know others prayed but we know of no others that were groomed over decades particularly for this specific task by the Holy Spirit.

OCD churches dont realise that the very "light within them " is it turns out darkness. This praying to a distant "out there God" compulsively repeatedly fruitlessly, is all part of the "delusion of separation" since the Fall. The very prayer activity is the RELIGIOUS WING of this separation.

OCD churches place too high an emphasis on meetings and nearly none on the "right believing and seeing " of members for all the other hours in the week. This actually keeps the OCD church higher on the agenda than it should be in terms of Christ's overall activities in the earth, because people are unable to live properly without it. There is an absolutely fruitless relationship going on between members, church and leadership, that helps to keep members co-dependant and never growing much, while ensuring the continued payment of professional leadership, who are in fact doing the opposite of what they are called to do....

bring forth Christ in their flock.

OCD Churches are vague about everything so that no one can ever accuse them of failing.Real faith is specific and demands a leadership who are prepared to put their neck on the line.

OCD churches often run programmes on this and programmes on that...not realising that at the end of the day it's the same old scriptures that have to be believed ON, for a certain while until they are confirmed as firm inner believing and knowing by the Spirit. Romans 6,7 and 8 are every bit as real a process as the belief in and the receiving of the baptism of the Spirit.

OCD Churches limit themselves to the Blood of Christ, having no clue about "eating the Body of Christ" and the meaning of the Body death of Christ. Singing songs about forgiveness each week and going no further doctrinally is a very similar religious loop to the Catholics attending confession, and to the Anglicans going through the almost identical subject matter in their liturgy.

It further confirms this repetitive activity of "going to Church" rather than the words of Jesus:

neither on this mountain nor at Jerusalem shall you worship me. But an hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers.
"God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth."

related post:
Seven signs that you may be under law

1. You’re not 100% sure if you’re 100% forgiven

God doesn’t do forgiveness in installments. All your sins were forgiven at the cross (Col 2:13) when God the Son abolished sin by the sacrifice of Himself (Heb 9:26). Neither God the Father (Heb 8:12) nor God the Holy Spirit (Heb 10:17) remembers your sin any more. Still not convinced? Then read this.

2. You believe Christians have a duty or responsibility to serve the Lord

Duty and responsibility are synonyms for obligation so this is a mind-set that says we are obliged, or indebted, to God. I’ve heard it said that “Jesus has done so much for you, what will you do for Him?” Indeed, God has given us everything. Ever wondered why? He did it “that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus” (Eph 2:7). He is not just rich in grace, but exceedingly rich. You cheapen His grace by thinking you have a duty or responsibility to pay Him back. Your responsibility is to believe that He is good and true! It is not our obligation to serve the Lord, it is our royal privilege. It is not our duty, but our great delight.

3. You suffer from performance anxiety.

Performance anxiety is a rational response to the uncertainty of life under the old covenant. But anxiety has no place in the new. We are to draw water from the wells of salvation with joy (Is 12:3). We walk under law in anxiety and fear, but we walk under grace with joy and thanksgiving! “Happy are those whose wrongs are forgiven, whose sins are pardoned! Happy is the person whose sins the Lord will not keep account of!” (Rms 4:7-8, GNB) God has made us His Sons, and with such a Father we need not be worried about anything (Mt 6:32). He is our Provider who delights to give good gifts to those who ask Him (Mt 7:11). Those who serve under the law are insecure, but sons are secure.

4. You think, “God will bless me as I do my part”

The essence of a life enslaved by law is the mindset that says, “I must do something for God.” The motivation may be to earn salvation or some other blessing. But this mindset is anti-Christ and anti-cross. Contrary to what you may think, we are not justified by what we but do grace alone (Rms 3:24). Grace and works don’t mix (Rms 11:6). (And if you’re thinking of James 2:24, read this.) Grace, peace, and every spiritual blessing have been given to us by God our Father through Jesus Christ (Eph 1:3). We are not called to work for God, but to do the work of God. (Click the link to learn more about mixing grace with works.)

Grace is God’s part; faith is our part (Eph 2:8). Faith is a positive response to what God has done. Faith is saying, “thank you Jesus!” Faith is healing the sick and casting out demons, because Jesus made provision for our healing and deliverance at the cross.

5. You think we need more preaching on repentance.

Repentance saves lives, but preaching on repentance doesn’t lead to repentance! A law mind-set emphasizes what people must do (repent!), but grace proclaims what God has already done (everything!). A law mindset uses inferior incentives (fear, judgment) that lead to temporary changes in behavior, but grace (God is good and He loves you!) changes the hardest heart. If you want people to genuinely repent, preach the goodness of God (Rms 2:4).

6. You think you have to overcome life’s trials or Jesus will blot out your name.

It really isn’t about you. Jesus is our overcomer and our victory (Jn 16:33). Everyone who believes Jesus is the Son of God has already overcome the world, because The Overcomer lives in them (1 Jn 5:4-5). Jesus promised the overcomers at Sardis that He would never blot out their name. Ever since then insecure performance-oriented believers have feared He might change His mind and do exactly that. For more on overcoming, read this.

7. You mainly think of following Jesus in terms of giving up things.

Christianity is a divine exchange, our life for his. No doubt you’ve heard people say that following Jesus costs you everything. And it does. You cannot call him Lord without renouncing the right to your own life. But see what you get in exchange! If salvation means nothing more to you than self-denial and personal sacrifice, you’ve missed the whole point. Christ offers us an unfair exchange; our life for His. God favors us with this exchange. We give him our sinful little selves and get everything in return. A law mindset looks at what we give up, but a grace mindset rejoices at what He offers in return! Stop thinking about what you gave up (nothing you could keep) and start enjoying what He has given you (everything!).

Rediscovering the Prayer of You - Darin Hufford and comments to Jack Fortenberry on the 3rd protagonist

There are 3 protaganists in your Christian story and your church's story. It's not quite the simple 2 protagonist tale you bargained for. This is more than born out in Darin Hufford's experiences on prayer below, first posted on the Free Believer's Website.

But first this is part of the email I sent to Jack Fortenberry on Facebook 10 June at 11:45 as a direct result of Darin's article.

This may or may not have impacted you fully already. It came out of the Time Appointed by Roy Dungar...a man with engineering for a brain...I think not unlike yourself...you guys are very interesting once you've got light...because you have this clinical precision which doesn't let people get away with fuzziness. As I put on my status this morning, Roy gives a rundown on Song of Solomon as NOT 2 protagonists but 3!!!! The third wants to seduce us away from the One True thing...this life expressed by a hind skipping upon the mountaintops, and also by "the Bride coming out of the Wilderness leaning on her beloved".

So this is what I haven't put on my blog yet.Came out of this when I was reading Darin Hufford's great post on prayer. It's this!

Song of Songs and the parable of the Field that was sown, then resown by "an Enemy" at night show us these things:
1God knew the church would be a mess through history
2 He "meant" the church to be a mess...why?....
3 Because His way of producing mature lovers in the Spirit is to "allow " us to be seduced (if possible) by this 3rd religious agent in the Song of Songs, this Galations "bewitching" force, this Great Harlot of Revelation, or Abraham's big mistake...Ishmael...the child of the bondservant had to be cast out
4 This "experience" makes us mature, razor sharp,in terms of what is truly our Beloved and what is fake
5. It accounts for the Arc sweep of Church history. The Church born out of Judaism still had enough Judaism in her that she must be left to die, until a pure strand originating through Luther, be raised up brighter and brighter until at last a pure Bride appear raised uniquely in the Revelation of Jesus Christ and Him alone, to cast out the bondwoman completely.

Rediscovering the Prayer of You - Darin Hufford
When I first became a Christian I fell head over heels in love with God. I would spend hours talking to Him and praising Him. The lines of communication between He and I were always wide open. The word, "Amen" didn't mean, "Over and out," it meant "So be it." There was never a point when I wasn't listening for Him or speaking to Him. It was perhaps the most wonderful and simple relationship I had ever experienced in my life. It was pure, unscripted, from the heart and completely raw.

Then one day I was in a local bookstore and I found a book on prayer that I had heard a lot about from friends. As I was standing at the counter purchasing it, I remember hearing Him try to stop me within my heart. For some reason, I closed myself off to Him and got the book anyway - rationalizing that if it's on prayer, how could it hurt. That day marked the ending of my pure and unpolluted relationship with the Father. All that I had was taken from me within the first chapter of this famous and well respected book. Everything that came so naturally and without force was literally blown away like dust in the wind. For the next ten years I would do nothing but fight to find my way back to the place of my youth where my connection with Him was so wholesome and untainted. There were times in that darkness where I wondered if what I remembered having with the Father wasn't just a figment of my imagination. I wondered it if really happened like I had remembered it or if perhaps I had dreamed it long ago.

I truly felt like I had been violated by the author of this particular book. It was as though he molested my spirit. He stole my innocence and purity and replaced it with heartlessness and death. It would be almost fifteen years before I would find relief from that religious oppression that hovered over my head. Today I guard my relationship with the Father with everything that I have. Its power has proven to be beyond my imagination and yet it amazingly remains as delicate and fragile as a flower.

I believe that the concept of prayer that is taught in today's Christianity is not prayer at all. In fact, I believe that it has become something so sinister and self serving that it borders all out blasphemy. I wonder sometimes if people in this generation ever stop to really listen to themselves when they talk to God. Do they hear how deceptive and manipulative they've become over the years or are they spiritually oblivious to it? I wonder if people actually hear the barefaced manipulation that is woven throughout those scripted formulas they've been taught to recite to the Father to get what they want.

Molested Mindsets

It has been said that when a person is molested as a child, they are twice as likely to become a molester themselves when they grow up. There is a mentality of molestation that many people take on and live their lives by from the moment someone abuses them in that way. I personally believe that this generation has been spiritually molested by religions heartless desire for control. Just as the step by step teachings on prayer that I read, took my innocence away and left me empty and hallow; I believe that thousands of Christians have been emotionally stripped in very much the same way. We've been violated by an unfeeling and heartless set of rules and religious methods that are not only void of real intimacy with the Father, but are designed to drain away and bleed out any future possibility of intimacy. This is exactly what takes place in the heart of someone who has been molested.

Molestation is when someone penetrates another person for their own personal gratification and with no intent for relationship. It's physical penetration without relational penetration. It's a mindset that TAKES for one's self, without the intent of giving. Many people who have been molested as children grow up and become adults with a "Molested mindset." They're repulsed by the idea of relationship and intimacy with anyone. They often use people to receive whatever personal gratification they want at the time. Ironically, this is the same mentality that the person who violated them years ago, lives by.
Darin's 90s band
So what does this have to do with prayer?

This same mindset has followed us into our prayer lives. In short, we have become "God molesters." We find ways to penetrate the throne room of God so we can get what we want, but we have absolutely no desire for personal relationship with Him. We find ways to physically penetrate the Throne of God, without actually relationally penetrating Him. Our main focus today is how to make it work, or how to get the answers we want. Intimacy has little or nothing to do with it. In this generation we care very little about anything other than results. Almost all of the popular teachings I've heard on how to pray are centered on getting God to give up the goods. We're taught how to approach him, how to manipulate Him, how to seduce Him and how to convince Him to give us what we want. We've even been taught to obligate Him and make Him feel like He doesn't have a choice in the matter. It's amazing how similar our tactics are to the planned patterns of a child molester.

Something is deeply wrong with this generation when we are actually studying, "What God has to do for us" because of some technicality in Scripture. When we start taking things that bloom from real relationship and using them as tools to manipulate God, we are a generation of God molesters. A child molester will do and say anything he has too, to get a child to believe in him. He will take the very things that bloom from real relationship and mimic them in an effort to seduce the child into letting him have his way. He'll say he loves the child, or he'll never leave the child. He makes the child feel secure and safe with him. All these things are counterfeits that come from the fruit of real intimacy but are acted out to get the child to drop his defenses. A molester will use anything to get what he wants, and we have become no different today.

My heart grieves when I hear people using things that spring from intimacy as tools to get what they want. We've been taught to use the Name of Jesus to make things happen on our behalf. His Name has become nothing but a spiritual bobby pin to pick a lock in the invisible realm or a clove of garlic to ward off all the vampires. We reduce the things that transpire through the fruit of closeness and relationship to a pair of bat wings in a witches brew.Picture :Darin Hufford now

Beautiful things like faith are captured and cultivated for no other purpose than to get a desired set of results. We've become a generation of lawyers who are experts in using God's words against Him. In the end, we seem to have convinced ourselves that the end justifies the means. If the outcome if favorable and positive on our behalf, it was a success.

So we approach God with something we want, and we go through our spiritual tool belt and follow the formula to a "t". We use the Name of Jesus, we use faith, we claim it, we stand on His words, we anoint it with oil and rebuke the Devil. Suddenly IT WORKS. We got the job, we got the car, the promotion came through, we got the raise; IT WORKED!!! But we are no closer to the Heart of God than we were the day before. Closeness was NOT the aim. In the end, we just found ways to penetrate the throne of God to get what we wanted, but we had no intentions of having relationship. It was physical penetration without relational penetration.

No longer do two or three gather in His name for the purpose of relationship with one another. We do it to fulfill a quota that will then obligate Him to respond in our favor. Even our worship is laced and poisoned with manipulation. It seems that today, almost everything we do has an underlined reason behind it that has nothing to do with intimacy with the Father. Even things such as abstaining from sin, can be traced back to some form of spiritual manipulation to get Him to give us something. Make no mistake about it; this is a "God Molesting Mentality!" He feels it the same way a child feels it when they are betrayed by someone they love. It's heartbreaking to Him.

I remember reading in the Bible about a time when Jesus pulled up into a town on a boat and everyone came running to Him begging Him to just touch the edge of his garment. It said that "all who touched it were healed." I refer to this verse as the day Jesus was gang raped. Can you imagine how He must have felt that day? Not a single person was there for relationship. No one wanted Jesus for Jesus. It was the garment they were fascinated with. In fact, when they killed Him they even cast lots to see who got to take it home. Relationship was the last thing on their mind. When I see this spirit in today's Church it grieves my very soul. Prayer in today's generation is nothing but an excuse to rape and pillage heaven.

When I speak my wife's name, it has meaning. It vibrates my soul and resonates within my heart. The very sound of her name causes a mist of her presence to surround me. I can literally catch the sent of her breath and feel her hair in my hands when I speak her name. Before I knew her, "Angie" was just another name. It meant nothing to me. After I became one with her, her name began to take on an entirely different meaning. Today it explodes with the essence of Angie when it comes from my lips. The power of her name comes through my intimate knowledge of her as a person. It is not the name, in and of itself that is powerful to me; it's the relationship behind the name that makes it live in my spirit. The same is true with the Name of Jesus. I think it's pretty pathetic when the Name of Jesus means more to demon spirits than it does to us.

It would be wrong for you to read this article and come away with the notion that the name of Angie has power in it when YOU speak it just because you read about it here. Until you have experienced her heart; her name is none of your business! In the same way, when you have experienced the Heart of God in relationship and intimacy, His Son's spirit will vibrate within you. It's what the Bible refers to in Romans as "The Spirit of Sonship that cries Abba Father." That Spirit is NOT a tool or a technicality; it's a position of closeness and intimacy.

I feel that prayer has gone from a conversation in the midst of relationship to a formula that has been concocted for the purpose of manipulation. Perhaps the most well known teaching on prayer today is called, "The prayer of Jabez." Millions of Christians are encouraged to recite this simple prayer that a man prayed over three thousand years ago, with the promise that "It will work."

This reminds me of a bill board that I once saw in Florida while driving down the freeway. It said, "Prayer Works." I have found this to be the very bottom of the barrel concern of every modern day Christian. Does it work? How can we make it work? My question is this: Is prayer something that was intended to "work" or was it intended for another purpose? When I kiss my wife a m I concerned with whether or not "it works" or am I doing it because my love for her has culminated to a point where I need physical confirmation? To say that "Prayer works" is to suggest that the only reason for prayer is to get something personally from it that we didn't already have. It has nothing to do with relationship or intimacy. It's purely selfish.

I know that this article sounds almost belligerent at some points and perhaps downright confrontational at others, but I sincerely want this generation of Christians to know the Father personally. If you don't know Him; all is lost. What's the point? He created you and me for relationship. That's the first thing on His heart when he thinks of you. Everything else is secondary. The purpose of this article is not to condemn you or make you feel bad. I want to encourage you to seek Him on a different level than what you have been taught. Find Him in your own way. Don't worry about how to pray or what to say and in what order. Just talk with Him because you want to get to know Him.

Believe it or not; God does NOT want you to pray the prayer of Jabez! God wants you to pray THE PRAYER OF YOU.
