Yes I Am 21 - How Do I Get This Inner Knowing?

Yes I Am by Norman Grubb
Chapter 21
HOW DO I GET THIS INNER KNOWING?

Have you grasped what I’m saying? We must have inner knowing. Nothing can be a substitute for that. Remember how I said that faith is only completed faith when it has been replaced by conscious assurance - "substance," as Hebrews 11:1 tells us. We have several times emphasized this, and do it again. Throughout life, faith in its initial form is placed in something external, available to me, and desirable... and by inner decision of my mind, heart and will I then say, "I’ll do that. I’ll go there. I’ll make that." On the human level, I then put that inner word of faith into action. I take my car and go there. I use my hands and make that. I take that fruit and eat it. And then what happens? When it reaches out to something, that first inner form of faith is dissolved and replaced by outer facts. It is no longer "I’ll go to that home." No! Now I am in that home. Not "I’ll eat that." No! It is food in me. Not "I’ll make that." No! Here it is, made. The taker’s taken! My bodily actions have turned the faith into substance.

But now we are talking about a faith-leap into the real dimension - the kingdom of God - the invisible realm of reality with Father, Son and Spirit; and we who are born-again know that when our faith became "substance" we came to a new kind of assurance - ridiculous to the world - in which the Spirit, not human actions, was the agent which brought faith into substance; and that new-birth certainty is nothing but inner knowing - a nonrational knowing. We just know that we know, and neither man, heaven nor hell can move us. Just as Paul almost shouted to the Galatians, when beginning his letter to them: "I so know this new revelation (of the inner union of Galatians 2:20) in my inner being that if an angel from heaven, or I myself, preach to you any other gospel, let him be accursed!" That, surely, is inner knowing.

And now it is this second inner knowing we are talking about, which was so plainly demonstrated by Paul himself in his cry of distress turned into shout of praise and assurance (Romans 7 and 8). And I am asking, "Do I know that?" Yes, I do. Do you? Don’t deceive yourself; don’t mistake your first believing of outer given facts for the spontaneous inner knowing. Get it clear. Faith starts off by my attaching myself to something. We have instanced food, a chair, going to a home. But that’s not what makes it real to me. It is the response back, like an echo, from the thing to which I am attaching myself which makes the inner knowing. I take the food; I am conscious of it inside me. I sit in a chair; the chair makes me know it is holding me. That is the knowing. So the knowing does not come from my putting my faith into something, it comes from the something in which I put my faith. I must never mistake my faith in its first form - my attaching myself to something - for the completion of faith by which it has attached itself to me. Do you see this? So the final knowing of my eternal union - that it actually is He inwardly joined to me: that it is now He living in me, and not I - comes from Him the Spirit, and not from me the believer. He turns the faith into substance: absolute certainty.

So don’t try any imaginings on this level, or try to make yourself think you have it. Don’t try anything, for once again that is this old "self-effort stuff" we have died to. No, I keep doing my part, which is constantly affirming that what the Scriptures have said about my union with Christ is fact. I have been and am crucified with Him. I am dead to sin. I am crucified to the world. I now live in His resurrection. No, it is not I, it is He living in me. I have said it, and still say it. But keep this clear: My saying it is not yet Him saying it back to me. That you do not "try" to make up, or feel, or have any scraps of self-effort in it. No, it "comes down from heaven"! How? When? That’s not my business. Keep off the grass! Don’t inquire. Don’t occupy yourself with hoping or waiting. No, remain steadfast in your part of the bargain - affirming the fact on the basis of God’s Word even if it is not yet inwardly confirmed to you as fact. And when and how will you know? Neither I nor an angel from heaven could tell you, because it is the prerogative of God Himself, God the Spirit, to speak that inner word. All we humans can say is "You’ll know when you know!" Sometimes at once, sometimes after a time-gap.

I did not lightly move into my part of the believing. After five night-hours of battling around with it (so little did I understand the ease of faith in those days), I did finally put my finger on Galatians 2:20, or at least on the first phrase of it, and said right out, "I am crucified with Christ." Then I added a little bit of confessing with my mouth, which Paul said confirms the inner believing: I took a post card, drew a tombstone, and wrote, "Here lies N.P.G., crucified with Christ." I had not reached far out into my resurrection by then!

But did I feel different or know anything different? No. My precious wife, Pauline, was with me and did the same. We had those five hours sitting in our little camp chairs in the forest, in the banana plantation of a precious African brother we had gone to visit. But the Spirit responded more quickly to Pauline. Within two weeks she felt what she took to be a touch on her shoulder, beneath the mosquito net on her camp bed. It was the Spirit confirming her word of faith, and she knew and has known ever since. Next morning, as we sat outside the little native hut we had been staying in, breakfasting at our camp table, she began to say to me that she had something to tell me; but I said, "No need, your face shows it" - and her life has showed it all these years since. But for me, perhaps because I was more a "thinker-through" of a thing, and a slower believer, it wasn’t until two years later that the inner light was turned on in my consciousness. During those two years I never went back on that crisis of affirming faith. It had been as serious to me as a wedding ceremony (yes, faith is serious business). So it was background fact to me as I continued my missionary village travelings. But not until I was home on furlough, and speaking with Mrs. Penn-Lewis, a woman of God whose writings had first helped me into this understanding of Romans 6-8 and Galatians 2:20, was this light inwardly turned on in me. I brought some missionary problems to her. But I think she sensed I was the problem, because she answered by what she called her "baptism in the Spirit" - not by some outer sign, but by an inner revelation of Him in her, so great that, as she spoke that day to a group of young women, the Holy Spirit brought them all down on their faces to the ground. But the point to me was not her story but that as she spoke, I knew. How? I don’t know. But I knew, and that was a great number of years ago. And I still know. Just as certainly and clearly as I knew by the inner witness on the day I came to Christ that I was born again. That’s how I know; and you know, or will know in God’s time. He confirms what we have affirmed. That’s all.

But I do know that as He thus became inwardly real to me, as the One living my life, I did move into an inner knowing which was and is equivalent to saying It is He living in me and not I. I was conscious of Him only doing the thinking and speaking. He, not I. Yet of course it was and is I. And I still have that inner knowing of it being He, not I. So it is not difficult for me to say that it is Christ speaking, willing, thinking, acting. It is Christ in His Norman form. It is that Spirit who Jesus said speaks in us (Matt. 10:20) - not to us, but in us and by us: "For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you." It is "God working in us, to will and do of His good pleasure" (Phil. 2:13). So He is the willer and doer, and I just as spontaneously express His willing and doing in my actions.

Yes I Am 19 - My Personal Discovery Of Total Truth

Yes I Am by Norman Grubb
Chapter 19
MY PERSONAL DISCOVERY OF TOTAL TRUTH

We have just seen, through Paul in Romans 7, the pivot upon which we turn from frustration and defeat in our newborn lives, coupled with so much guilt and condemnation, to being an "established, strengthened, settled" self. But only in the revelation of Romans 8:1-4 is one able to say with inner certainty, "Yes, I am - I am all that I have ever wanted to be: free to be my real self, and to help others to find their true selves." So I will now add my own experience of the necessary preparation for this fresh leap of faith.

I was freed, at the time of my new birth, from the law’s condemnation as a sinner; but I thought that I myself, as a redeemed human, still had an obligation to fulfill the law. It was only later that I found I had been totally deceived in this. While, in my redeemed delight in the law, I thought I should be obeying it, Satan kept lyingly claiming his control over me and causing me to fulfill his flesh will.

I had to have one final, radical exposure of the nonsense of my supposed independence. Here is the value of Romans 7:1-6. Through its great light I at last saw I had never been independent. I also saw that until I consciously knew and entered into the reality of the cutoff from my old husband and my marriage to the new, I was "in between" - in an illusory condition of independence - and thus actually under the control of my old husband. So the law completed its work by revealing this illusion to me, and grace revealed the reality of my new marriage. As I moved into that, the law ceased to exist as having an outer claim on me and was now being inwardly fulfilled in me. This is why (in 7:7-14) Paul puts such emphasis on the fulfilling through the law of God’s purposes for our freedom.

So Paul, with that God-inspired analytical mind of his, now "opens up the whole can of worms" about this delusion of the independent self. In 7:15-23, a passage of self-analysis unequaled anywhere, either in the Scriptures or in other writing, Paul shares in detail his own agonizing battle with his personal responses to indwelling sin, and his own total failure to win the battles. There we hear his cry of despair - "O wretched man that I am!" Then comes his blinding flash of revelation that, while he lived in the delusion of being an independent self, indwelling sin falsely claimed to possess him ("I am carnal, sold under sin"). Then the glory of the revelation of the falsity of this delusion, because the One who had cast out the lying usurper has now replaced him. So indwelling sin is now replaced by the indwelling Christ!

Thus we arrive at the primary purpose of this great chapter - to show us that death to sin (the theme of Romans 6) includes death to law (7:4). Now we see the boon and blessing of outer law (for Paul defends the law as spiritual, holy, just and good - vs. 12). God’s law, which looks like an enemy condemning me, is really my friend, for it is the ultimate and necessary means of revealing to me that self-relying self is an illusion. Having accomplished this, law now ceases to exist for me! "Ye are become dead to the law." How? Why? Because law came into existence only to reveal my slave relationship to Satan and sin and to enlighten my mistaken, deluded self. So now, when at last I know by inner-knowing that in Christ I am totally cut off from sins, from sin, and from its claims on me -and realize that the indweller is Christ Himself, by the Spirit - then I also know that my inner Christ is the whole law in spontaneous operation, and I am totally out of range of the outer law. I am dead to it, and it to me. (It may, though, take some time for me, so used to giving ear to an outer law, to turn my deaf ear to it.) Now I live, instead, by the inner leadings - which are also compulsions - of Him who is love: and this is the fulfilling of the law (Rom. 13:10). I now react to any outer claims on me not by a direct response to those claims but by the confirmation of the Spirit, coupled with the Scriptures (which are always a secure undergirding for those inner confirmations). Dead to sin... dead to the law... the world crucified to me and I to the world... I have crucified the flesh in its excessive forms of infatuations and lusts. That is the perfect background to my newly liberated life in Christ.

For me this was simplified long ago in Africa - before I took the leap into Galatians 2:20 - by one moment of radical and very simple revelation. Still under that old, false idea of being an independent self who could and should be improved as a servant of Christ, I had begun to seek for more love that I might identify myself with my brother Africans. I looked for more faith and power, and more deliverance from the normal pressures of the flesh and critical attitudes towards my fellow workers. The surprise I got, which put me on this right track, came when that simple word "God is love" became new to me. I did not then know that God is all in all, as I do now, and I really thought that God had love rather than is love, and He could therefore give me a share. But when the Spirit opened my eyes to the fact that God is love, then I suddenly saw that love is not some emotion which I might feel and express, but love is a person - in fact the Person, when it is God who is love. It was as if He was saying to me, "You’ve got it all wrong. Love is not something I have and can pass to you. I am that love!" That left me with a question: "Then is there none for me?" And the same query struck me concerning the power for which I was asking - for I became aware of the scripture which says "Christ, the power of God" (1 Cor. 1:24). So power, also, is not a thing but a person - the Person - and there is no "special kind" of power which can somehow be communicated to us. So again my question: "Well, what about me in my need?"

That conditioned me for the opposite end of this revelation. I saw it by the scripture which says "Christ is all, and in all" (Col. 3:1 1). "Christ is all" - that was staggering enough. But then, "and in all." So I saw that I, as a human, was not to "become something better." I was not to become, but to contain. That was it! Obviously, if the one I contained was Christ, and He is all, all I needed was to know Him in me as "the all."

That was my first flash of revelation of the Total Truth God has now so widely opened my eyes to - that we haven’t a self-nature to improve or develop. Until then I knew nothing of having been a total Satan-container in my unsaved days, and so knew nothing of now being a total God-container. This was the first revelation of the Spirit (and it has to be revealed by the Spirit) that I am just the container. It was the beginning of what has never left me since and has so greatly expanded.

The final illustration that settled me into seeing my proper place as a human was the discovery that several times in the Scriptures we are called "vessels," A vessel is there only to contain. It does not become what it contains. The cup does not become the coffee, nor the coffee the cup. That ray of light shot into me. In other words, God was saying, "Stop fussing about your human self, where you fail and where you need improvement. Drop that whole false idea. Vessels don’t improve, they just contain. Now turn your attention away from what you are as a vessel - or think you should be. With a single eye, turn your full attention on Me, the One the vessel contains." That was enough to move me on to my crisis leap - into the reality of Galatians 2:20, which is now my favorite verse of Scripture: "I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me." This was my personal experience of Romans 7, leading me into Romans 8.

When you do what is truly best for you.....

When you do what is 'truly' best for YOU . . . it will naturally serve those around you! 'Happiness' Coach Carolee Dalton

Chris Welch writes on Facebook
This throws up some pretty deep thinking if you align this with this sentence:we are to grow up in all aspects into Him who is the head, even Christ, 16 from whom the whole body, being fitted and held together [k]by what every joint supplies, according to the [l]proper working of each individual part, causes the growth of the body for the building up of itself in love.Ephesians 4
Let's zone in on "proper working of each individual part."
Judgment begins with the household of God. This means a lot more than broader sins.
I AM A PIANO TUNER and I begin with one string of one note, and work out to the rest of the piano.
God begins with His church. The administration He is rolling out Ephesians 1:10 begins in His household.
If He is rolling out an administration based on Galations 2:20, the new consciousness that He lives my life, it follows that we'd better find out a bit about how Jesus as Chris Welch,Jesus as Carolee Dalton best works. Now as a Life Coach Carolee Dalton is probably focussing on individuals finding how to maximise their own potential. What I'm suddenly seeing is bigger. You see if we're all nestled somewhere in some big Rothschild pyramid performing a function of his choosing rather than our own, even if we are Christians we are misusing ourselves. And the ones that hinders the most are those members of the Body of Christ we would have been helping to build up were we functioning "according to the proper working of each part." Let's scroll back inward to church.
If a pastor assumes scriptures say that the pastoral gift is one that is exercised as an administrative CEO of some local corporation known as the church, his eternal "megaphone role" out the front of church is actually preventing the proper working of each individual part. One pastor one church dates back to periods before anybody knew they were saved, baptised in the Spirit, and knowing Galations 2:20 in their own lives as the Father stage of growth. But that's just a preliminary criticism. St Paul was so far reaching as an apostle he didn't even see the Body in terms of meetings. in the Ephesians 4 passage it doesn't talk in terms of meetings. (it doesn't exclude them either)But it's speaking in terms of a whole manner of living on the earth.

The Pearl of Great Price by Fred Pruitt

From Fred Pruitt's Blogpost
One of the things I was looking for, back in my late-adolescence “God-searching” days, was a concept I ran into in my reading, embodied in the term, “authenticity.” I’m sure lots of authors had used the term or the idea in their writings, but it hit me when I read Stephen Gaskins’ little book, Monday Night Class. I got it, his point, or at least got a piece of it!
What it meant to me, was that one sought to become honestly and authentically who one was supposed to be, to become one’s “real self.” I didn’t know what that was at the time, but I knew that the demand of this idea I had in my head, to “find out the truth about spiritual things,” would not let me rest until I pursued it, and to pursue it, two things were paramount.
One, it must be serious and real. It could not be a quest to find out the most popular opinion and go with that, nor would anything less than the truth be satisfying. In some sense a resolution rose in me to mold myself around the truth, (whatever “It” was), rather than molding a truth built around my own liking. I knew, somehow, that it would have to be that way, if one wanted to truly know truth. We do not get to pick the “truth we like.” 2+2=4 is Truth, whether we like it or not.
And second, to turn the “serious and authentic mindset,” into earnestness and a real “effort” to establish disciplined practices, habits and new ways of thinking, all while maintaining an unending blitz on the doors of my mind and spirit to bring them into alignment and expanded understanding and clarity – to attain “enlightenment” is one way to put it!
Enlightenment or bust!
That idea was part of the framework in which Jesus found me. It was not a bad idea. Carrying that idea of authenticity with me into my beginning days in Jesus, though we can technically call it “self effort,” it was the highly “Divinely-winked-upon” self effort of our early days, and the concept stood me in good stead. The Spirit always works in who and where we are in the moment without condemnation, and He used that working concept in my thinking to set me up to be a student, to be a listener, an observer. (Something else I’d learned in those “eastern” days, the new student sat at the back of the class and just listened for a time, because the new student does not even know the questions, much less the answers.) So it emptied me as far as it could go in those days. Coming into Christ I knew I had come in with nothing – that nothing (spiritually) was as I had thought it to be before – and I became quite voracious, ravenously hungry for spiritual food, something with substance, that stuck to your ribs!
That whole concept was only reinforced in the first church body the Spirit put us in, when we were taught by the Prayer Minister to “storm heaven,” because, “the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.” (Matt 11:12) I took it to heart and began a several year assault on heaven’s gate. “Seek the Lord,” “Draw near to Him,” “Open your heart,” “Love Him,” “Praise Him,” and all the other admonitions from the scripture and the pulpit continually exhorted me (us) to press further, seek harder, to be “not weak in faith,” because we knew that we would reap, “in due season, if we faint not.” To do “my utmost for His highest.”
I have no regrets for my years in that. It was not wasted time – it was God’s perfect time and place. It always has been. As far as the difficulty of that time, the condemnation, whether self-inflicted or from some “ministerial” source, it was perfect. I had to give it a shot to do my “utmost” for Christ. I’m in good company. Peter thought the same way, when he said he would never deny Jesus. Peter found out his own resolve failed at its first real test. And eventually, like Peter, I found out my own resolve eventually got to a place where it could go no more, because it became confused and afraid. There is a period in most of our lives, for those who press into Christ, where we give it a good effort at becoming “more like Christ.”
We do not know we are about to fight a battle in which, if we come out the loser, we come out the winner. We don’t know that yet. In the beginning we are thinking about making the only “me” we know to be a better “me.” We’re looking to get a spiritual makeover, so to speak.
Make ‘me’ pleasing to You, Lord!” we pray, not knowing we are praying for an impossibility, first, because it is already true that we are pleasing to Him, and second, we are actually in our mind’s understanding at the time, ignorantly asking for self-deification. Seeing God in separation, He up there, we down here, we are in a sense asking Him to make us a separate “god” who is “like” Him.
As I said, for a time in our ignorance God winks at our separation mindset. We operate out of it in relation to God, and when we “hear” God or see some “work” of is, and seeing it out of that separation, God honors it for a time. Even as God honored Saul’s anointing and still guided Saul by the Spirit until Saul could no longer fulfill God’s will because of fear and torment, which is when David came forth, a man after God’s heart who would fulfill all His will. Saul is the separated “flesh man,” and David the “inner Christ,” who grows up even while Saul is still running things. Finally Saul cannot go on. He cannot hold back the Philistines any longer. The Lord is not with him, and at the end in fear and desperation he falls on his sword and dies. Only then does David begin his reign, though for some time he has to put down the house of Saul.
Therefore, this difficulty so many of us experience in bouts with legalism, religion, or in anything else, is all for this Saul to finally give up and die (by realizing his own death in Christ’s death), that David (Christ in us) might come forth! It may have been a tough road, but the tears of joy flow when we observe ourselves and say, “Who is this that cometh up from the wilderness, leaning upon her beloved?” (Song 8:5)
Other places I’ve told of how that all came unraveling, until I found myself reduced to that “nothing,” and out of that “nothing,” coming into a union, “I live, yet not I but Christ” conscious mindset, so there is no need to go over that again. I did, however, want to testify of that Seed born many years ago in me and which now, of Itself, has grown up into a great tree. This is not to magnify myself, but again, to testify to the faithfulness of the One Who Promised!
This is where this word, “authenticity,” comes in. When I first came upon and experienced the ecstatic joy of knowing oneness with Christ, for the second time I had found something in a field, a “Pearl of Great Price,” and had given all I had to get it. Only this time, this second time, (when I initially saw “union”), it became much more personal. Because the first time I found the Pearl of Great Price was in the very beginning, and I knew the Pearl was Jesus, but I didn’t know where the field was, and I didn’t know that the Pearl being “Jesus,” had an even greater meaning.
This second time I began to grasp the “greater” meaning. Because as I first began to discover these things by the Spirit, I had learned that the kingdom of God was within. So I realized first of all that the “field” was the field of my own life. But I was beginning to discover something greater, that yes, the “Treasure” was Jesus or Christ, but the “Jesus Christ” of my life was really, the “authentic” me!
Now this Pearl, something which previously I had known as separate and apart from me, something worshiped, acknowledged, believed in, outside of or separate from me, had moved into “me” in the most total sense possible! He had not just come into some nebulous “place” in me which I could not identify, as my understanding had been up until that time. Somehow the Pearl had moved so intimately into me, that the Pearl was me! Jesus moved in by His Spirit, but eventually what I get out of that, is not me being Jesus, but me being me. The “real me.” The one created in Jesus Christ “unto good works.”
It took a while to settle into that. You see, it is so incredulous at first, that the Christ child we seek has now become embodied in our very selves, that we are tempted to join with the accusers and say it could never be that mere man could say that. How dare we? Who are we, to dare to say, this Child is born, born in this manger, and now He has grown up to be the Light of the World and the Salt of the Earth? Who could say such a thing? Surely pride must be the culprit!
For once the truth of Gal 2:20, 1 Cor 6:17, and many other similar words become alive in our understanding and consciousness, and we begin to see it, then dare to believe and confess it, there the battle is joined. It is won already, but we are not necessarily spared some of the fight. Because sometimes it will seem like heaven and earth and everyone in them are against us, testifying against us that we cannot possibly be this “Christ” person walking around.
We accuse ourselves most of all, or at least the voice accusing us sounds like our own voice, and we may take a dip or two in the pool of self-pity now and again, almost agreeing with the accuser because we are so weary from his continual rants. But victory is not up to us, and certainly not the accuser. Victory is in the hands of the One Who brought us there in the first place, Who promises to bring us through the valley of the shadow of death, Who causes us to lie down in green pastures and assures our dwelling in the house of the Lord forever. He is our victory!
Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.
Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle.
Lift up your heads, O ye gates; even lift them up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.
Who is this King of glory? The LORD of hosts, he is the King of glory. Selah.
Much has been said of late among some of us about this “gap,” mentioned by Norman Grubb, between our taking something by our word of faith, and the Spirit’s confirmation of that “word” at some later time. I suppose what I am talking about ties in with this. It is during this “gap” time, that by this continual “testing” or “struggle for faith,” that the consciousness of Who we are comes forth. In other words, we start out with a “concept,” which by faith we take to be true about ourselves in Christ. We have been brought to that point by the revelation or drawing of the Spirit, and by this inner Word springing up, so that, like Peter’s confession that Jesus was the Christ of God, which he saw by a flash of light in his understanding, we have the same type of “flash” in getting our first glimpse of union. We see it and believe somehow that it must be true. As we are led by the Spirit, we move to “take” or “receive” it for ourselves, by our word of faith that Gal 2:20 is true not just generally, but true specifically for me! But we don’t have it yet in our possession. At that point we have the truth of it conceptually, enlightened by the Holy Spirit, and it IS true, but our hold on it is nebulous, even as our hold on “salvation” was something nebulous in the beginning for many of us.
As Hebrews says, the Spirit exercises our “senses” and by that exercising brings us to maturity – rest in God through union with Christ. (Heb 5:14). Over and over and over we are exercised in this one thing: that we are Christ living in the world, and the life we are living in the flesh by His faith, is His life manifest! That is what the battle is about – to come into full possession of that which has already possessed us!
It has many facets to it, this final denouement. Those facets include things like detachment; contentment in darkness or light, abundance or need; reliance on “God only” in whatever context our lives dictate; an inner certainty given and received as a gift.
But the main facet, it matters not the personality nor what gift one may have, of total assumption of our oneness with Christ in God by the Spirit, is that we finally come upon the Pearl all grown up now, a beautiful Pearl that the Father sowed in our field, all resplendent and shining with luster and inner light. It has always been first and foremost Christ, and it still is, except now it is we who come forth. Jesus did not call Himself out of the tomb, but Lazarus. He called Him by name to awake from death.
Now in this third great way – the first being the day we began to know Him; the second the day we believed we were in union with Him and had cast ourselves away so that He might be All in all – this third time we find we have awakened to believe what we have believed, and by that “believing what we have believed,” we awaken to the fulness of God by awakening to the Christening of ourselves in the Spirit. The bands have been broken, chains ripped apart, bondage has been done away with, for what can withstand or hold prisoner the Christ of God? Not man nor devil!
Like the remnant who had seen the first temple razed by the Babylonians and lived to see the day its walls were reestablished wept at the sight of the goodness of the Lord, we find ourselves weeping at the grace, mercy and love of God, that He performs His promises. What we believed so long ago, has born the fruit of Promise, and the Promise was that God would have a Son, even as the Promise to Abraham was that he would have a son. Abraham’s promised son was Isaac, “Laughter.”
We are in the place of both the Son of God and the Son of Abraham, but for this moment I only want to speak of Abraham’s Promise. The Promise was Isaac, Laughter, and when we see it, this Pearl, this Treasure, this Living Water, and know that it has truly come into our possession even though it is in the imperceptibility of the Spirit, then we know we are God’s own gift to us, the fulness of ourselves for His glory. It is like the woman who has travailed for so long to bring forth the child, has given birth, and the child is here, and the child of promise is us. And that is laughter, laughter because it is a big and funny joke God has made that such as we could be the Promised One; laughter because we had always had hints of it but it seemed to good to be true and we were afraid to believe it fully; laughter because it is joy unspeakable and full of glory; laughter because at the heart of the universe, in the heart of love, in that light, everything, past, present and future, is transfigured (comprehend what I mean by “transfigured”) in the Light of God, and in that moment we realize God has taken away the tears, taken away the sorrow, taken away the wanton need and the temptation in the light of Transfiguration, and replaced it all with Laughter.
Just be your real self,” Norman Grubb used to say. That’s the same thing as “authentic.” It just means, and I say this with authority – be yourself! Find out who you are in Christ, and be it. You be you! The “real” you – not one concocted from mimicry, or dogma, or fear – but of Christ!

Thoughts on the Vision of the Church as Daniel Garcia goes to glory

Pastor Daniel Garcia who has died this week
On hearing of the death of Norita's brother Daniel Garcia (Main pastor of Los Rios de Vida, Buenos Aires and in all the other states of Argentina)and reading one of his last requests that people continue to spend long together praising and worshipping the Lord, and to not neglect the gathering together of believers my thoughts are this.
Ed Miller,Jorge Pradas and Daniel pushed open the doors of praise and worship as a pattern in the local congregation maybe more than any other series of churches on earth. But I am resolved that this is NOT sufficient. Often content to stay in the outer realms of the holy place in order to prepare for listening to preaching, may the next generation really become the advanced corps prophesied in Psalm 110 and Psalm 24. In Psalm 134 also we are shown what a huge role we have, and again in Psalm 149. We have to be expert in what up to now we are still playing with. The Melchizedek Order is where Jesus Christ rules and reigns. He has pulled down any separation at all, having His flesh torn as the veil which kept us from approaching God's throne.
He has, in these last days through decades of seeking God revealed through his servant Norman Grubb, a missionary for around 70 plus years, the exact blueprint of how Galations 2:20 works on an individual life, but as yet NO CONGREGATION ANYWHERE ON THIS EARTH has worked out this third level of operation on a corporate scale, the level of "KNOWING HIM WHO IS FROM THE BEGINNING" described in 1 John 2. This is the realm the elders before the throne operate in. But Jesus specifically told us to pray this prayer. "THY KINGDOM COME, THY WILL BE DONE, ON EARTH AS IT IS IN HEAVEN." and again the apostle writes " AS HE IS , SO ARE WE IN THE EARTH." What this looks like in corporate form, projecting as Ern Baxter prophesied " the Community of the Trinity out from the Throne into a community of people in a space time world" we have as yet no firm idea. We have proved what it doesn't look like by creating networks of churches run by men at the top of pyramids, and have blocked the specific injunction of the New Covenant: They shall all know Me from the least to the greatest. Instead these networks have all put out their prophets, have not advanced in their doctrines and revelation, and have not pursued the worship of God into the third level, first opened recently by Ed Miller and attended to by national revival in Argentina as a sign following.
Ed Miller has proved the Third level exists.
Jorge Pradas and Daniel have proved there is such a thing as the vision of the local church.
Norman Grubb has explained how we may walk continually in this third level of knowing Christ as consciousness on an individual level.
The Psalms of Ascents (Ps120-134) however, describe a corporate rising into the Presence of God that is completely without historical precedent, yet it  takes place at a time of NIGHT in the Earth.
Isaiah 60 declares that this Darkness will cover the earth, and it describes this Darkness as GROSS Darkness. Yet at such a time shall a LIGHT ARISE on the people of God that is equally unprecedented. It is the Light of the Son of God, this time manifest incarnationally not only through the Head who is Jesus, but through His entire Body, of whom it says , He is not ashamed to call them brethren. The Son of Man shall arise suddenly, like lightning in the Earth, and it is said by Jesus of this "Son of Man "the angels of God ascend and descend upon Him."
For the rest of the church this is far fetched, but both Ed Miller's churches and JorgePradas's churches have already experienced angels among them. The foretastes of Jesus singing amongst His brethren in the congregation have already been indescribable, but this was among a people that do not yet know the third level apart from the briefest glimpses. Praise, worship and the Presence of God among a people who know Galations 2:20 as consciousness, will release a realm of Power and Glory no man can at this point fully realise, but is described obliquely in Psalm 134 when it says the saints shall BLESS THE EARTH OUT OF ZION. Earth sized blessings shall be released by such a people.

Fragmentation.
The throwing out of people such as myself and many many others.
The reluctance to press through to any kind of maturity as promised in scripture.
The Lacklustre worship of the one for whom are all jewels, riches, skills, knowledge, praise, love, adoration even our Bridegroom who honours us above all other possessions...
ALL THIS HAS TO STOP IMMEDIATELY, and simply yielding in obedience to the One who loves us, He will simply amaze us by what He can reproduce in our flesh and blood. He was , is and will always remain glorious and without parallel.

Norita his brother had written on FB
We arrived today at Heathrow airport and as we were waiting for our suitcases we received the message saying that my dear brother and pastor Daniel Garcia passed away last night. It was too late for me to go back to Argentina but as we came back home we joined with our sons, other brothers and sisters that came to greet us to give thanks for his life of sacrifice and complete surrender, together t

o his dear wife Nelly, other servants of God such as Papi and other contemporaries in the work of His kingdom.

We are rejoicing now that he is resting from his tireless work for the beloved church of the Lord. Even though he was still sick, his spirit was intact in the Lord and he was continually thinking about the Church. I heard him say a few things only weeks before passing away that will stick with me: “care for the God’s church, take care of the brothers” and also: “In the church meetings, do not rush the times of praise and worship”. Then he added: 'Don’t stop going to church”.

He was a tireless fighter, so much so that he entered with marks into the Promised Land. He recognised his mistakes but deeply trusted in the Lord his God. He dedicated time to the study of the Word and to prayer. The Word of God has been extremely important in his life of faith. Crystal clear waters from the throne of the Lord. The Lord increased those who live out and bring the Word of the Lord clearly to the lives of its people.

I always remember one of his favourite passages:

'but the path of the righteous is like the light of dawn, which is on the rise until the day is perfect' Proverbs 4: 18

Electricity Circuit

Where two or three are gathered in My Name, there am I in your midst.

Electricity theory:

in a lamp circuit that is in series, where there is a power source, no faulty connection to the switch, no faulty connection to a lamp, and where there is a return connection to the powersource, a lamp shall light up.

Galations 2:20 is a staggering concept. Imagine a room of people all knowing by revelation that they have been crucified. That the self-powered delusion they used to live in and was never self-powered but instead was "hooked up with the spirit of wrath".....
Now imagine that swept away, and people just having the consciousness that they were now owned, operated by their new Spirit empowerer...Christ the Living Lord....in other words...like Jacob...after three generations of he and his forebears all seeking God's face...he had a name change to Israel, prince of God.....

well in the same way, these Christians have had their Name changed to Jesus as them in their form. Imagine a circuit of such people linked by gathering in this New Name?

Who is in their midst?
The One Firstborn of a multitude of brethren.
The Ancient of Days. present with the Father at the foundation of the world.

Can you begin to understand what church will be like, and can you understand now why present churches are so pathetic in comparison, run as they are often by one leader, who may or may not know as much as their congregation.

Can you now see why the pattern true churches run in according to Ephesians 4:15-16 is a blueprint of supernatural power that the earth has never truly ever seen?" Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love." What If Deliverance Never Comes? by Fred Pruitt

From Fred's Blog
(Someone wrote about a family member, who has known and believed, “Not I but Christ,” for some time, but has had a continuing serious bout with alcoholism at the same time. The question, paraphrased, was, “How can Christ be his life and Gal 2:20 be true for him and yet he cannot quit drinking and is bound by sin?)

Thank you for writing and sharing your life a little with me. I think we're all touched one way or another by alcoholism, drug addictions, etc. So I understand and am very familiar with your heart in this matter. Let’s just say it is close to me.

Interestingly, (just from my perspective), you are the second person in the immediate past who has written me about not being able to overcome something habitual, even though they had been to the Lord with it, believed, etc., but still could not escape. It is a very very common problem.

And I see by your history that you’ve run the gamut of “solutions.” Medical world, psych world, rehab world, Christian world, it looks like you’ve left no stone unturned. I'm not mentioning these past attempts at treatment of the problem as if they are wrong. People are helped medically, psychologically, and through rehab programs all the time. You mentioned the many times he's been “prayed over” and “anointed with oil,” words of faith, etc., among believers, and we do not discount that in any way. There are numerous testimonies of people being “instantly delivered” from things like that, and I have seen it myself. It is a fact that through all those ways, people are helped to escape substance abuse problems and many other things. But when you run down the list of the things tried during these years, it almost reminds me of the woman with the issue of blood, who had spent all her living on physicians but none had been able to heal her. Jesus was not slamming doctors (though they were pretty primitive back in those days!), but just noting her situation. She'd tried everything and nothing had worked. So without slamming any of those methods, we just note that none of them had “worked” for him.

And then after all that, you ask, “if Christ lives in and through him, why can’t he stop drinking?” And then your final comment, “but I don't understand how we as Christians who believe Gal. 2:20 with all their hearts can be bound by sin.”

Fair question! Especially since it is the Lord Who has made the promises! It seems to me, since we “have believed” His Word -- that whatever we ask we shall have, said in various ways throughout the gospels -- then as the Promise-receivers, we have something of a “right,” (maybe that’s part of coming “boldly” before the Throne of Grace), to question these things and desire to know “why” it seems like the opposite, that we do NOT have that for which we have asked, even though He has promised over and over that we would. Does God not keep His Promises?

It is easiest to take the low road, that it is something about us. After all, the normal thinking goes, if Christ truly were living this life, then we could do _______, or we would NOT do ____________ (fill in the blank). So we “let God off the hook” regarding unfulfilled promises (as it appears to us), by taking any failure on ourselves, that it’s me, not He. We admit to things like, “I must not have enough faith,” or, “I don’t want it enough,” or, “I must want it for selfish reasons,” and a whole host of other excuses for “God not coming through.”

First, let’s start here with this statement/question of yours: “I don't understand how we as Christians who believe Gal. 2:20 with all their hearts can be bound by sin.”

The immediate answer to that is that Christ cannot be bound by sin. And since He has come into the temple of our selves, and He and we have declared Him Lord of Lords and King of Kings in whatever way that has happened – since he grafted us into God’s Vine and we as branches on that True Vine – since in His death and burial He fulfilled the law of sacrifice as the “Lamb of God Who takes away the sin of the world” (Jn 1:29) – since in His death and deliverance from the accumulated sins of all mankind from the beginning to the end, we also died to sin/Satan and died to the law (Rom 6 & 7) – since when He rose by the Spirit of the Father, we rose with Him into newness of Life by the same Spirit (Rom 6:4) – since we know that the “law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set ME free from the law of sin and death” (Rom 8:2) – since we know that in Jesus Christ we are made one “person” with God (1 Cor 6:17) – since we know all that is true, then how can we say he is bound by sin? Christ has taken sin (Satan) out of him, and replaced sin with Himself, Who is righteousness, and he is the vessel of Christ Whose light shines out of darkness.

“For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.” (2 Cor 5:21).

Also,

By this will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

Every priest stands daily ministering and offering time after time the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins;

but He, having offered one sacrifice for sins for all time, SAT DOWN AT THE RIGHT HAND OF GOD,

waiting from that time onward UNTIL HIS ENEMIES BE MADE A FOOTSTOOL FOR HIS FEET.

For by one offering He has perfected for all time those who are sanctified.

And the Holy Spirit also testifies to us; for after saying,

"THIS IS THE COVENANT THAT I WILL MAKE WITH THEM

AFTER THOSE DAYS, SAYS THE LORD:

I WILL PUT MY LAWS UPON THEIR HEART,

AND ON THEIR MIND I WILL WRITE THEM,"

He then says,

"AND THEIR SINS AND THEIR LAWLESS DEEDS

I WILL REMEMBER NO MORE."

Now where there is forgiveness of these things, there is no longer any offering for sin.

(Heb 10:10-18 NASB).

So then we toss out the issue of “bound by sin,” because it is not the truth. He is NOT bound by sin, because the Lamb of God has taken it away. But then, what about the evidence of our eyes, ears and mind, when he binges and gets into trouble on all fronts? What IS the truth? Do we bow to the devil who is teasing us and him with his taunts: “See, you’re not really dead to sin. Look at you. You are not committed to Christ. I’ve still got control over you!”?

Do we take that? Or do we declare that snake a liar because he speaks lies? He is the ultimate “spin doctor.” The “facts” of his problems are in plain evidence. There is no disputation of that. As the defense attorneys say in TV courtrooms, “We’ll stipulate to that, your Honor. Yes, those events occurred, and yes, it was my client who was a perpetrator, and he really did binge for a month and he really did drink all that alcohol, and the problems his behaviors have created are serious and real.”

Where do we go from there? I think first we have to see through the veil to who he really is.

Who is he? Since we know he is in Christ, then he is the righteousness of God in bodily form. He is a temple of the Holy Spirit by Whom he has fellowship with the Father and the Son. He is a chosen vessel of mercy. He is “His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.” (Eph 2:10). He is the “elect” of God, as the Lord has declared. (Col 3:12; Is 42:1; Rom 8:33; 1 Thes 1:4; 1 Pet 1:1,2). That is the truth about him.

Or do we agree with those who observe and judge others' lives, when beholding others on their crosses, or in dire circumstances which to their minds must be the result of sin (as Job’s three friends took so much time to tell Job), and say, “There is no help for him in God.” (Ps 3:2)? (That is not just saying God will not help him. It is denying who he is in Christ, as the continual “accuser of the brethren,” he never lets up. “If he's the son of God, let's see him come down from the cross!” (Matt 27:40).

The accusing and condemning voices seem to proliferate day by day. “You are a sinner. You have no self-control, you don’t care what God says, if you really were who you say you are you could overcome this problem.”

On and on the voices accuse.

But as we referred to above, Romans 8:33, “Who shall lay anything to the charge of God's elect?” And also Romans 14:4, “Who art thou that judgest another man's servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand.”

So that is where we MUST* plant our feet. There is only one battle, and only one victory. It is the battle of faith. And the battle of faith is an inner struggle, in which the outcome has nothing to do with the outer appearances even though instigated by them, and yet it may drastically affect or change those appearances. No matter what some may say, the “appearances” are not the point or ultimate goal.

The victory is inner, because true reality is inner, what we call “the invisible.” We who are in Christ are well-schooled in living after the “invisible,” for who of us has ever seen the Object of our deepest affection, the Ultimate Hope and Anchor of our souls? And yet we believe and stake our whole lives on something we have never seen, nor have we any clear empirical evidence by which we may prove our “belief,” and thus we “appear” as fools in the world. Still, not seeing, we believe!

And that is what you are left with, and in truth all you have ever had from the beginning until now. The “invisible.” But of course I do not mean an invisible “nothing,” but rather the Living God Who is over all, “above all, through all and in you all.” There is no place where He is not, “above all, through all and in you all.” (Eph 4:6).

Here is the work and end of the Accuser:

“And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.” (Rev 12:10,11).

Now when he says, “I heard a loud voice … in heaven,” it is we, we who have been transported into the inner sanctuary, the throne of All Power, the Throne that decrees the only decrees that are decreed; it is we who hear this voice in that place. The voice announces that NOW IS come salvation, strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ. It is here, now, in the inmost place of all, so says the “loud voice.” Let's understand what it means by “loud voice.” It is a voice that demands to be HEARD! “Listen up,” it is saying. This is true in you! But that is not all.

How did they overcome him, who had continuously accused them before God day and night? Was it by great feats and demonstrations of greater power? Were they able to point to themselves and claim any right of defense? Were they able to point to themselves and contend with the accuser line upon line, precept upon precept, debating him while trying to justify themselves by the law? No, they cannot, because he is a skilled solicitor, knowing every twist, turn and loophole in the law, and he uses the Holy Law of God as his weapon, and daily he brings railing accusations against them out of the law.

But the accusations are cast out with him into outer darkness, because that “handwriting of ordinances which was against us,” (Col 2:14), was nailed to His Cross, and the reply to any and all of his lying accusations are answered, nullified and cast out by the Blood of the Lamb, through which none of his lies can penetrate.

That is the heavenly reality, the inner truth in this current moment for all who are His. And let it sink in, that this “inner truth, is “The Truth.” It is not just some mind-game we play with ourselves and comfort ourselves with as a way to cope with distressing circumstances. It is THE TRUTH. All his accusations fall to the ground at the Blood of the Lamb and have no worth, but are just puffs of smoke.

And that “overcoming” is enacted in us by “the word of [our] testimony,” that is, our word of agreement, of faith, of receiving, that we have no answer to the accuser except the blood of the Lamb, by which we are forever cleansed and delivered. And that word of our testimony becomes our “overcoming,” as John also says, “For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?” (1 Jn 5: 4,5).

And then it says, “and they loved not their lives unto the death,” which means they have freely recognized their position as “lambs of God,” that God might demonstrate His process of death and resurrection by “accounting us as sheep for the slaughter.” (Rom 8:36). That means that for those lambs, they recognize that they do not own themselves, but are bought with a price, and no longer serve themselves, but place their lives willingly on the altar of sacrifice for the benefit of the saints and the Lord's purposes, wherever that may lead.

As it is also true for us: “Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body. For we which live are alway delivered unto death for Jesus' sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh. So then death worketh in us, but life in you.” (2 Cor 4:10-12).

And that is what I am telling you, that, instead of seeing all the problems and the failures as evidence of his bondage to sin, which is Satan's lie, let us see and stand on the truth, that He is Christ in his human form, and testify from that place, both you and he, that you and he and Christ are one, and that even though it appears as if sin still reigns, it is instead the mighty power of intercession, whereby our lives are expended for the benefit of others in any way the Lord pleases.

Now of course, people are going to object with, “The Lord would not 'please' to manifest anyone as an alcoholic. The Lord would never do that.” But He put His own Son to death, and it says “it pleased the Lord to bruise Him,” (Isa 53:10), and He was made a curse and was “numbered among the trangressors.”

“Yes,” they may counter, “but the Lord went without sin, and certainly you cannot say that your 'intercession' is without sin!”

Show me the sin! Who here, with his will and heart, has turned against God and refuses to do His will?

Have they been acknowledged, the sins of the past? Of course they have!

Have they been provided for perfectly forever, so that there IS NO MORE NECCESITY for any further sacrifice for sin? If sin were still the issue, then what of this: “Having offered one sacrifice for sins for all time, He SAT down …waiting until His enemies were made His footstool … For by one offering He has perfected for all time those who are sanctified”? (Ref above). “One sacrifice for sins for all time?” YES!!

What about “willingness” as it regards “sin?” Has he said, “I want to sin.”? Of course not, he is in that place where he delights in the law of God after the inward man, though for a time he seems overcome and cannot escape. But all that is, is God's timing, nothing more, nothing less. “My times are in thy hand,” said the Psalmist! (Ps 31:15).

This is the part where Christ is seated in the place of authority over the entire universe, knowing, “All power in heaven and earth is given unto me,” (Matt 28:18), as established fact and truth which cannot be undone or resisted, and in that restful authority, He sits, “waiting” as the enemies, one by one, fall before Him and declare Him Lord of all – “That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” (Phil 2:10).

It's all done, and we can testify that it is. The enemy is defeated. The Lord has delivered!

Now, what of the problem with alcohol? Am I saying to go on and just accept the fact that he is an alcoholic, and always will be? Exactly the opposite! It is not permanent, but is instead the means to God's end, which is of course means “Good” to him, as we need not restate Rom 8:28.

God's “end” for him is something he may confess for himself: “I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the LORD. The LORD hath chastened me sore: but he hath not given me over unto death.” (Ps 118:17-18). And we know this “chastening” is not something punitive, but rather how Jacob became Israel, and Joseph the dreamer became Joseph, Regent of Egypt, and deliverer of Israel.

And all of these, from start to finish, are the works of the only One Who says that “all things are worked after the counsel of His own will.” (Eph 1:11).

So let's see this new man, who is only the “new man,” despite the challenges and appearances of the flesh, trusting God to keep him as only God can do, and that whether the alcohol ever goes or does not go, nevertheless God will glorify Himself in, through, and as him, and he has that glory in himself even now!

Be not afraid, only believe!

(*If anyone who does not understand the difference between my usage of “the divine MUST,” and the “you should” of the law, it is simply the difference between our self-effort to “try” to do something to add to ourselves, and the inner unction of the Spirit which comes out as, “we MUST do this,” because we cannot help it. It is the “love drive” of the Spirit moving us.)

Life in the Melchizedek Order X : Steve Lightle

Extract from Exodus II by Steve Lightle
The first chapters of Steve's book describe his steps of faith obedience to hearing Jesus speak.Firstly in and around his Dippy Duck Car Wash business. Then he is led to go to Holland in order to phone a couple of people. It turns out, they will both be on hand for him to meet with. Then comes this remarkable chapter of Steve's supernatural encounters.

CHAPTER 6
GOD SPEAKS THROUGH VISIONS!
Henk Paulson left his apartment and his camper bus for me to use. Then he left on special business behind the Iron Curtain.
Before I had left Seattle I had called Phil Israelson. I told Phil that I was going to Holland, and he had said that he was going there too. It turned out that he was staying only fifteen kilometres from Henk's house. I went over and got Phil, and brought him back with me. We had a really significant time in prayer. Some things happened there spiritually that were another step of preparation in God's plan to answer the cry of my heart. Paul said in Galatians 2:20, 'I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live.' I really wanted to know, not only by faith in the Word of God, but by experience, what it meant to be crucified with Christ.
Phil and I drove over to Germany, and I dropped him off in Hanover to visit a friend. Then I continued on to Braunschweig, which is only another forty-five kilometres away. There I went to the Kaffeestube, the Teen Challenge type of house that helps drug addicts and alcoholics — where Judy and I had lived when we moved to Braunschweig in 1973. They have a little room for guests, like a prophet's chamber, up on the fourth floor of their building.
I arranged for the room. I told the people at Kaffeestube what I was going to be doing in the room.`Don't bother me,' I warned them. 'Don't even call me. I don't know how long I am going to be here but just leave me alone.' They knew me and knew that I meant what I said. So, they left me alone.
I went into the room and said, 'Lord, either I am going to die in this room, or You are going to change my life. I'm not coming out of here until one or the other happens.' I was very serious with God. I would fast, and pray, and read the Bible until God did something to change my heart. I knew that God was leading me this way. I knew there were things in me I couldn't deal with. There was no way in my own strength that I could deal with pride, jealousy, bitterness, hate, envy, and strife, and other things that should not be there. And the number one thing was really pride. I just couldn't get rid of it. So I asked the Lord to do something.
While I was sitting in a chair the power of God came into the room and I had to get out of the chair and lie on the floor. The power was so great I couldn't get up. And I stayed there six and a half days.

Things began to happen to me spiritually of such a deep nature that I wondered what was going on. For the first time_in my life I had such an intimate and _personal time with Jesus, that I could say with Paul, 'I ... heard inexpressible words, which a man is not permitted to speak.' (11 Corinthians 12:4)

'Lord, either I am going to die in this room,

or You are going to change my life.

I'm not coming out of here until one

or the other happens.'

I was very serious with God.

I would fast, and pray, and read the Bible

until God did something to change my heart.
I really wondered if I was still in my own right mind. But God in His mercy sent a man to see me. This man opened the door where I was and the power of God hit him. He fell on his face and said, 'I can't breathe in here.' And he crawled out and closed the door. He couldn't stay with me in God's power for more than a few minutes.

About a day and a half later another man came to visit me. He opened the door and the power of the Lord hit him and he fell down. He crawled into the room and he stayed with me about twenty minutes. And that was all he could take. He couldn't stand any more. It was impossible to even stand up in this room. The glory and the power and the weight that come with the manifested glory of God that was in that room just pushed people down. No one could stand up. And, finally, he crawled out and closed the door.God sent those two people to me to show me that what was happening was actually something very real and s and that I wasn't losing my mind.
During these days the Lord was taking me mainly through the book of Isaiah. This was where I was reading almost constantly for the six and a half days. The Lord would make everything so real to me. It was a continuing process of revelation.
After the second person had left something began to happen that was so supernatural that it may be hard for some to believe. But all of a sudden, just like that night that I had experienced an angel's presence in that house back in Holland, I knew there was an angelic being standing in the room with me. In fact I knew that there were two standing in the room with me, and I knew I was going to see them.
I turned to look where the first one was, and it was the most awe-inspiring thing I had ever seen in my life! He was very, very large. The room had a high ceiling —probably a good twenty feet — and the belt buckle of this creature was about twenty-five feet high. He was a creature of God and he stood higher than the roof of the house.
I don't even know how to put this into words, but he was not limited by the physical dimensions of the house or this world. And I looked over to the other spot where I knew there was another one, and sure enough, there he was! Two of them — of these angelic creatures — were standing there.I can't even adequately describe them to you. All I can say is that after I read Revelation 4:6-9 and the tenth chapter of Ezekiel, and Genesis 3:24 and saw how the writers tried to describe what they were seeing, I understood how it's just about impossible.
They never spoke to me. They never said a word. I didn't talk to them. But I knew that God had put them there for my protection.
They each had three pairs of wings. They stood absolutely motionless and yet they knew everything and could see everything that was going on all around — in every direction, up, down, around, everywhere - just like it says in the Bible.
Then the Lord sent one more person to me, my dear friend, Phil Israelson. He came on over from Hanover, where I had dropped him off. When he opened the door, the power of God hit him. He fell on the floor and as he did he said, 'Steve, what's going on here And all of a sudden he looked over towards this one place in the room and by the look on his face, I knew he had seen one of the angelic creatures.
`Oh, Lord, thank you' I said gratefully under my breath. 'You've sent somebody to see them too so that I'll know I'm not having a hallucination or something.'
`Phil,' I said, 'do you see anything else And he looked exactly at the place where the other one was and I said, 'Phil, I want you to describe to me what you see. I've got to know whether you are seeing — that we are seeing, the same thing.' And he began to describe them, and I said, 'That's it!' And he described to me exactly what I had seen, to the smallest details.
We continued to read in the book of Isaiah the whole time that Phil was there with me. He would read aloud and I would say, 'Phil, do you know what that means?' And the Lord would give me the revelation, the illumination of that word. Oh, what a time we had! Phil stayed with me for two and a half days and then he had to leave.
After he left I was there still on the floor with my eyes closed and my head down. Suddenly, Jesus was right there with me. He spoke to me. Was it an audible voice? Did I hear it inside myself? I really can't say for sure. All I know is that it was so plain and so clear.
`I want you to trust Me,' He said.
`Lord, I trust You,' I said.
`I want you to trust Me,' He said again.
`Lord, I trust you,' I said.
`You have to trust Me!' He said a third time, emphatically.
`Lord, I trust You,' I cried out. From the depths of my being I was telling Jesus that I trusted Him.
I opened my eyes, and Jesus was standing right in front of me. He was just standing there, and the only thing I can say is that it was as though He had an axe in His hand. And then I saw something that was the most horrible, ugly thing I've ever seen in my life. And I screamed because it was so terrible. I'd never seen anything like it. And I screamed out, 'Lord, what is that?
And Jesus said, 'That's your heart.'
`God, I can't stand it!' I said.
I can't stand it either,' Jesus said. And He took an axe and He laid it to my heart and He said, 'This is your pride!' He laid that axe right to the root of that pride that was in me. And my old self literally died in that room. I knew experientially the meaning of Matthew 3:10: 'And the axe is already laid at the root of the trees; every tree therefore that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.'
Now, I already knew Jesus as my Messiah. I already knew that His blood had cleansed me of my sin. I knew Him as my baptizer in the Holy Spirit. I knew Him as my healer. I knew Him as Lord. I knew Jesus in all these things. But I didn't know Him in His crucifixion in a way that I had to know, so that I could really be raised from the dead in the power of His resurrection and live with Him.
When this happened I screamed, and if anyone had been anywhere near there I know they would have thought I was being murdered. But they were down in the basement, five floors down, eating their afternoon meal. Then Jesus began to go through the other things that were in my heart: jealousy, envy, strife, hatred, and bitterness — just roots! They weren't things manifesting themselves in my life but the roots of those things were there, and needed to be taken away. And each time He did it I experienced spiritual pain with physical effects —I can't adequately explain it — except that I believe that I physically died in that room and was resurrected. Jesus resurrected me! When it was over I can say that I have never ever felt so clean and pure as at that time.

Now,NUMBER ONE I already knew Jesus as my Messiah. I already knew that His blood had cleansed me of my sin.NUMBER TWO I knew Him as my baptizer in the Holy Spirit. I knew Him as my healer. I knew Him as Lord. I knew Jesus in all these things. But I didn't know Him NUMBER THREE in His crucifixion in a way that I had to know, so that I could really be raised from the dead in the power of His resurrection and live with Him. (numbers added ACW)

And then Jesus said, 'Don't let a seed of any of these things enter back into your heart lest they turn into a root and become a tree and bear forth branches and bring forth evil fruit.' The warning was scriptural. (Hebrews 12:15: 'See to it that no one comes short of the grace of God; that no root of bitterness springing up causes trouble, and by it many be defiled.') It was something that I will never forget.

During this time Jesus also led me in a vision into a hospital room in which a girl with a white nightgown was lying. Jesus walked over to her and with a certain gesture laid His hands on her. Then He told me, 'When you see this scene again, then do exactly the same as you have seen Me do!'And then I was able to get up. I sat in a large overstuffed chair, just quietly worshiping the Lord from the depth of my heart — a depth that I had never known before of worship and praise. And that's when I had the vision. It was as though it was projected on a large screen. I saw a lot of people and I recognized that they were Jewish faces. And there were so many! Then from a particular viewpoint I could see that there was a multitude of Jewish people — hundreds and hundreds of thousands of them.
My angle of vision changed again. This time I saw it from a height that enabled me to see the nation they were in. It was the Soviet Union, and these were Jewish people that were being gathered from different parts of that nation. On many small streets they were gathering from various regions of Russia. They were coming together and began to walk upon a great highway that God had built that was bound westward. Somehow I knew that this was a highway that only certain people could walk on. Only those that God permitted could get on it. And as they walked they began to come forth out of the USSR.
At the same time in my vision there were ministries that God raised up, that were as great as or even greater than that of Moses in Egypt. And they began to proclaim to the Soviet authorities, 'Thus saith the Lord God of Israel, let My people go!' And the Soviets refused. Then God, through these ministries, brought great judgment upon the Soviet Union. The catastrophies were so severe that the whole nation was brought to its knees. Then it was as though the Soviet Union coughed up the Jewish people and they began to walk on this specially-built highway.
As I watched, I saw that the highway continued on through Poland, through Warsaw. It continued on through East Germany, through the city of Berlin. From Berlin it crossed over the border into West Germany at Helmstadt into the city of Braunschweig. This highway that had been built by God continued on to the city of Hanover and then into Holland, and it came up into the northern parts of Holland where the Jewish people got on ships and went to Israel.
All along the way I saw people laying hands upon the Jews who were sick and they were healed. The people offered the food they had, which was not enough to feed all the Jewish refugees. But when the people offered it to the Lord it was expanded to feed the multitude –just like when Jesus fed the five thousand. It was awesome!
I was completely overwhelmed with the things I had seen. What should I do with it? If I was supposed to share this with others I needed confirmation from the Lord, to know for sure that it was not my own imagination.
`Jesus,' I said, 'this is wonderful, but what do You want me to do with it?
`Share it next Monday night at the prayer meeting,' He said.
`Jesus,' I prayed, 'I need to have confirmation out of the Word of God and through a miracle. Otherwise I cannot share this vision. I must know that this is from You before I can talk about it.'
The Lord showed me the verses in the prophetic books of the Bible where He says that He will lead His people out of the country of the north. The biblical witness of the coming of the Jews out of Russia is unmistakably clear and rooted in the prophecies of the Old Testament. It really lifted the burden from me to know that this, which I had seen, has already been the message of the Old Testament.
And as I was still sitting there pondering these things I was interrupted by a knock on the door. Jutta, the wife of one of the leaders at the house, asked me to go with her to a hospital to pray for a girl in the psychiatric ward. The mother of the girl had called and explained that her daughter had tried to commit suicide, so it had been necessary to commit her. She was heavily sedated on drugs.
Her mother felt the doctors weren't really helping her, for she just wasn't getting any better. The mother had remembered that once in a while her daughter had come to the meetings at the Kaffeestube and was always so peaceful after being at these meetings. So she called and asked if some of us could go and see her.
My time alone with Jesus had come to an end, I felt, so I was willing to go.
At first the doctors resisted letting us in, but finally gave us permission to go in for just ten minutes.
Jutta entered first and I followed. I could not believe my eyes. This was the same scene I had seen in the vision, the exact hospital room with one bed and a girl in a white nightgown! Had not Jesus told me, 'When you see that scene again, do exactly as you have seen Me do!' Suddenly, the verse out of John 5:19 came into my mind, `Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, unless it is something He sees the Father doing; for whatever the Father does, these things the Son also does in like manner.'
There was not the slightest doubt in my mind. I walked over to the girl, who was lying lifelessly on her bed under heavy sedation. As I had seen in the vision, I laid my hands on her and prayed. I was only a servant of the Lord, but I knew that I was speaking His words, and Jesus touched her. Immediately, she sat upright on her bed and was out of the fog the medication had caused. I looked at her and said, 'I will see you again in thirty days.'
I did not know why I had said this, but one month later a young lady came to the front with her parents during a meeting in Braunschweig. All three gave their lives to Jesus. At first I had not noticed who they were until the girl said, 'Don't you know me? Thirty days ago you prayed for me. Only a few hours later the doctors released me, completely healed.'
After I prayed for the girl, Jesus told me, 'My son, this is your miracle!' Now I had the witness of the Holy Scripture that the vision was rooted in the Bible, and I had this personal miracle as a sign of my Lord that I was on the right road.
The following Monday night I shared the vision at a prayer meeting of about 180 people in Braunschweig. At first I could not tell if they had received it. They were looking at me as if to say, 'Could all this really be possible?' And I didn't know how to deal with the situation or to interpret their lack of reaction so I just closed my eyes. I wanted to feel like an ostrich. I wanted to stick my head in the sand so everything would disappear. There was no way to get out of the room. I was standing there with my eyes closed when that still inner voice of the Lord said to Me, 'I want you to go down on your knees and get on your face before Me.'
And I thought, 'Here I am with 180 Germans looking at me — and I'm to get down on my face before God?' But I had learned how important it is to obey God, no matter what the circumstances. 'All right, God,' I said, 'I'll obey You!' And I got down on my knees.
Then I heard the noise of many people moving and chairs rustling. I didn't know if they were coming to get me, or if they were running out the door. I opened my eyes a little bit to see what was going on. And then I realized that every single person in the room had received the same message from the Lord. No audible word was spoken but every single person was down on their knees and on their faces before the Lord. Everyone, without exception.
There was an awesome silence. We stayed there for over twenty minutes. It was a sealing work of the Holy Spirit. He sealed the vision within our hearts. Everyone was aware of the deep, deep work of the Spirit of God within our lives.
We all got up. We didn't speak to each other. We just filed out and everyone went home. We all knew God had been there. God's power had been manifested and the deep work of the Holy Spirit was accomplished without any words being said. God does not need visible displays or words in order for His glory to accomplish His work within our lives.
Interestingly, the Lord put it on my heart not to talk on a large scale about the vision of the exodus of the Russian Jews. That evening in Braunschweig was the only time I shared the vision publicly for a period of six years. Events had to come into maturity in the redemptive plan of God, and in my life, before the message could be shared in public.
I knew that God wanted to lead His people out of Russia, and I sensed the tremendous responsibility the Lord had given me with this knowledge. Therefore, in 1974, a new ministry began in that part of the world. During the next few years I visited all East European countries with the exception of Albania and Bulgaria. I have been in Russia four times. On one trip I travelled for 17,500 miles back and forth throughout the Soviet Union and as far as Siberia.
This was just in preparation, to get to understand the people and to find out the different routes to travel. The first two and a half years I worked primarily among persecuted Christians behind the Iron Curtain, holding pastors' conferences, leading youth camps, teaching, and ministering. But at the same time I tried to find out the situation of the Jews in the Eastern block countries and make contacts.
For the next six years I was the European Director of the Full Gospel Business Men's Fellowship. I knew almost every major city in both eastern and western Europe like the back of my hand. I wondered why God was having me travel so extensively. But the vision always remained in my heart. I hardly talked about it. I just did not have the green light from the Lord to share it except on a limited basis.
In October of 1980 1 flew to Finland for a series of meetings. It was six years after I had the vision in Braunschweig. Within eleven days I spoke twenty-nine times. At the end I felt squeezed like a lemon. On the last day of this trip, I sat completely exhausted in the office of Rauno Kokkola, a friend of mine in the central
part of Finland. If it had been possible, I would have flown home immediately. I just did not want to speak any more. What was I supposed to say after all these days? I groaned, 'Jesus, I am at the end of myself. Give me words for tonight.'
Next to me on the wall was a big map of Finland. Suddenly I saw a fire break out exactly on the border of Russia and Finland. A real fire with flames and smoke. I was wide awake. I looked around me. Where could I get water to quench the fire? But the map did not burn up. Fascinated, I watched the action. 'Jesus, what is happening?' I asked.
Again that quiet well-known voice spoke into my heart, 'Do you remember the vision in 1974?How could I have forgotten all that!
Then I saw the same vision in front of my eyes again. But this time my attention was drawn to more details. I realized, in particular, that the Jews of the northwestern part of Russia did not move towards the great highway via Poland to Western Europe. 'Lord, why don't they get on that highway?'
His answer was, 'These Jews will come to freedom through Finland. In My grace I will give them the chance to be a blessing to my beloved people.'
`Jesus, what shall I do with this new vision?' I asked, deeply moved.
`Haven't you asked Me for a word for tonight's meeting? Here it is. Go and tell this message to the Finnish people!'
Well, I worked up the courage. On this last evening in Finland I gave the message concerning the exodus of the Jews out of Russia, and spoke to them about the responsibility Finland would have.
After the meeting there was a cold silence over the crowd. I was under the impression that they had rejected this message. I wished I could have slipped out of a back door and jumped into the next departing plane. But the reason for the silence was that the message had so impacted them that they just did not know how to react.
Can you imagine the situation I was in? There I stood and wondered what the people were thinking. Had they received the message? Then, five people walked out of the crowd and came to my interpreter. First, an elderly lady. She let me know through the interpreter, 'More than forty years ago the Lord spoke to me and said that He will lead the Jews out of Russia via Finland. But He ordered me not to tell anyone about it, until a foreigner comes to our country and publicly speaks about it. Then, Jesus said to me, 'Go immediately to him and confirm it for he will need that!"' And how I needed that!My interpreter became more excited when the man who stood behind that lady began to tell him that just six months ago he had the impression he should buy five warehouses in his city. The Lord had told him that he would host a large number of people. 'Presently some of these houses are being used to exhibit cars,' he explained, 'and another is being used for tennis courts. But all of them have bathrooms and kitchens. All I have to do is put beds inside. Tonight I know that Jesus really talked to me and that these houses are supposed to be for His people on their journey through.'
My heart leapt with gladness. 'Thank you, Jesus!' I rejoiced.
The next person described how he was living close to the border of Russia, and that some months before the Lord had told him to buy buses and to start a company, for he would have to transport people who need to get through the country. Now he knew that it had not been his imagination, but that God had really talked to him.
The man behind him reported, 'God has called me into the ministry of Joseph. Every year I am to store up ten percent of my harvest, for some day there will be people travelling through my country that are in need of food. I have been obedient to the Lord and have already brought in my fourth harvest.'
The last person coming up was again an elderly lady who loved the Jews with all her heart. She said,-'You know, the Lord ordered me to learn the Russian language. Why should I learn Russian while I would much rather learn Hebrew in order to converse with God's people?'
`Only a few Jews in Russia know Hebrew, but all of them speak Russian,' was my answer.
`Ohhhh . . .'she rejoiced, 'then I have a ministry when the Jews come out of Russia! Now I know why I have to learn Russian. Would you join with me in prayer that God would speak to the hearts of other people to also learn the Russian language' We stopped and parayed right then.
These five independent testimonies given after this meeting on my last day in Finland were wonderful confirmations concerning the things the Lord had revealed to me. Once again I had the assurance that I was on the right track. I would need that for the future. END OF CHAPTER.

The Melchizedek Order, some more notes by Chris Welch. If you are joining this current series at this post and you don't have time to wade through the former in the series, you may like to get a summary of how the Melchizedek Order operates in and through the Church here :

I'd like to highlight these things :
Point 1. Although there are many verses which say "He who calls upon the Name of the Lord will be saved", you will notice the details in Steve's testimony. Our part is to connect our heart to the Lord.
Jesus described this pictorially as : Matthew 6:6-8 NIV

"But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen(in secret). Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him. "
When you connect in your heart with God, you will know within yourself that you have been heard. It is not a question of reading out leftbrain recitations to the Lord, thinking that by the number of words and prayers read out God will answer you. You may in fact, in your desperation only manage a dull groan. You may find yourself flat on the floor writhing with a deep unutterable pain very similar to childbirth. Your spirit and God's Spirit connect with God the Father, even if your speech centres haven't a clue how to articulate what is going on. At such times , speaking in tongues to God is a great, practical gift, because it bypasses our mind altogether, and our spirit utters mysteries to God. The Truth is, as fallen humans, and now humans wanting to learn how to pray, WE DO NOT KNOW how to pray as we ought.

Romans 8

26So too the [Holy] Spirit comes to our aid and bears us up in our weakness; for we do not know what prayer to offer nor how to offer it worthily as we ought, but the Spirit Himself goes to meet our supplication and pleads in our behalf with unspeakable yearnings and groanings too deep for utterance.

27And He Who searches the hearts of men knows what is in the mind of the [Holy] Spirit [what His intent is], because the Spirit intercedes and pleads [before God] in behalf of the saints according to and in harmony with God's will. AMP

Point 2. Although you respond to God's call by seeking to connect, you then must trust God that He does in fact know how to order our lives. It is God who sets things up. It is God decides how and in what way we meet Him. He communicates this to us. We hear and respond by faith, even. and probably most likely when, His directive looks humanly foolish. The birthplace of Jesus did not look good humanly either.
Point 3. Just acknowledge certain patterns in this story, and store them in your spirit....for you cannot organise them. These things are set up by God. People who are conditioned to the external forms of church find the Melchizedek order disconcerting. You cannot see it. You have to make space for it. It looks humanly fuzzy and nebulous. As though it doesn't exist. But it is more real than any human Bible Institution. It is Spirit and Life. And more connected to what Jesus is doing now in the Earth, than the "most popular, switched on" ministry of the day.

Patterns like:

  • "prophet's chambers".....places on this earth where God is sought

  • connections with evangelism....which is on God's heart....."Teen Challenge"

  • Life or death, either You meet me....or I die. I'm not going anywhere unless You meet me.

  • The very real tangible Presence of the Lord. With manifestations of the supernatural.

  • Galations 2:20. Connecting with the 3 Levels/ the 3 stages of maturity. Steve describes them above 1.Salvation 2. Spirit filled Christianity and the gifts. 3. Identification with Romans 6-8 and the entry into 3rd level living.

  • An overarching vision of the Church coupled with personal faith steps of obedience within the vision

  • Connecting with others who are moving in the Melchizedek order.

  • Human church programmes have no Divine Sword cutting through them. In the Bible it says the cherubim guard the way to the Tree of Life.

  • Jesus pointed to the harvest in a field and said look how the grain is white unto harvest. Seeing the disciples eagerness to get stuck in......He effectively brings down the sword at this point on human endeavour by adding:

  • "Pray then to the Lord of the harvest that He sends out workers into the harvest." Any attempt at humans being organised to fill the need has this great Third Party sequence cutting right through it. The Father raises up such that will be Divinely commissioned to move into the harvest according to the Melchizedek order.

4. Laying the axe to the root. Not only is this the title of Fred Pruitt's book, concerning how the work of the Cross has dealt thoroughly with what went wrong in Genesis 3, but Melchizedek Order operations cause so much disruption because they lay the axe to the root of Satan's workings. They truly deal with the Strong man over human territories....that ordinarily paralyse the work of the Kingdom. Most churches, like those addressed in Revelation, have inferior candlesticks. They run very limited operations because the hindering key issues over churches are never addressed. Paul describes to the Corinthians that they should be the ones exercising rule over their locality, but instead they are bound up in minister worship, taking each other to court, and gross immorality.

Conclusion

My purpose in highlighting Steve's story is not so much to get bogged down in the outworking of the vision. Many Russian Jews have now been able to leave Russia since this book was printed. Whether this is the full outworking or only a first part. This has also been true of many prophecies given in old testament times. The people of God could have had no idea what sort of timescales are involved.....here we are still climbing into many of the prophecies as fresh today, as when they were first given.

No the purpose is to further show how real this Order of Melchizedek is. The fact that so many testify to similar principles and events with no collaberation between those giving testimony.
