Ron Cantor on Roberts Liardon

Maybe my background is such that  God has prevented a ministry .

My desperation  led me to Romans 6 and 7 material and ofcourse Norman Grubb Yes I Am . That's why I am pleased to announce there is a life off Genesis 3. The Devil has no jurisdiction off the Genesis 3 platform .

This is why the Bible announces : submit to God , resist the Devil and he will flee .

But , to realise how deep the Genesis 3 seduction lies in our very souls ....well mistakes can be big . The apostles denied the second Person of the Trinity to His very death . If any Jews think they can't possibly face this , consider the 12 and the 120 who wete petsonally trained on earth by a natural Jesus , yet all of them were the beginning of Jesus own ecclesia on earth .

What is wonderful to me is I now have articulation for why my anointing , my ministry , my calling , my message bars me from the old pyramid system . My message , crystallising through Jack Fortenberry Corinthian Elders , is that Pastor Kings are not a Melchizedek thing. We wait together before the Lord and have Psalm 123 Presence events as per 1 Corinthians 12 and the three diverses .

This takes the pressure off everything I am seeking to do . I will be surrounded by brethren and sisters who will also be ministering in Light .  Paul desctibes 14 different types of ministry in 3 lists , and it will work as the first DIVERSE works now , because our eye is single to see what the Lord is doing .

The challenge right now is enough thirdlevellers who are grounded and know Jesus in them as them (Galatians 2.20) outside meetings or even together outside meetings .

We are still having a hard time reading each other and how we all function as new creations having this inner believing .....read 1 Corinthians 12:14-26

Whether homosexual or heterosexual these are painful reads .

‼️In 1985, Roberts Liardon tried to groom me—or at least, that is what I believe. I haven’t thought much about him in a long time. I wouldn’t be writing this post detailing his sexual abuse if it weren’t for the fact that, over the past month, I’ve seen him appear three times on socia¡¡,l media. I saw him lecturing at a major charismatic Bible school. I saw that he is hosting a conference at Christian Retreat in Bradenton, Florida. And I saw Alan DiDio interviewing him on YouTube about anointing, mantles, and impartation—not holiness, character, and self-control.

I’m writing this because I’m concerned that Lairdon is a predator. In my upcoming book, WHEN SHEPHERDS PREY, I tell the story of how I met a young Roberts while in Bible school. Because I began noti2cing him becoming more ubiquitous on social media, I did my best to find out exactly what happened between him and the youth pastor under his authority more than 20 years ago.

A YOUNG STUDENT MEETS A “PROPHET”
In 1985, I was in Bible school at Christ for the Nations—not in Texas, but at a smaller satellite school in Stony Brook, Long Island. My mentor and primary professor was Dr. Michael Brown. He was only 30 at the time and spoke in glowing terms about his friend—a 19-year-old prophet who had been to heaven. I had already read his book, I SAW HEAVEN, which my youth pastor in Virginia had given me. I was certainly intrigued.

Dr. Brown brought him to the school as a guest teacher. One day, I walked into Station Pizza, the primary off-campus hangout for students. Dr. Brown ate most of his meals there, as I recall. I walked in, and there he was, sitting with Roberts. He called me over and introduced me.

Roberts was deeply intrigued by me—almost mesmerized. He began asking me about myself and my calling. He spoke prophetically over me, saying that I had a great anointing on my life. I believe he told me that I was special.

VALIDATION AND VULNERABILITY
Understand, I was 20 years old and dealing with a lot of rejection—not only from my upbringing but also at Bible school. I was overly zealous and, frankly, too much for many of the other students. To be clear, I had a lot to learn. I was not easy to deal with. So having someone that everyone was excited to hear—a “prophet of God”—tell me that I was special was deeply validating.

He later told Dr. Brown that he wanted to spend time alone with me that weekend. He was scheduled to preach Sunday morning and evening at our local congregation, and it was arranged that I would spend the afternoon with him. I was incredibly excited.

A MASSIVE RED FLAG
After the service, I went back to the pastor’s house, where Roberts and I spent several hours together. I don’t remember much about the conversation except the most important part: he asked me if I would consider leaving Bible school to travel with him as his assistant.

That should have been a massive red flag.

He didn’t know me. He didn’t know what was best for me. Still, I was deeply intrigued and in that short period of time, imagine, traveling the world and preaching with Roberts—but I loved being in Bible school. That evening, as I walked into the service behind Roberts, carrying his books like “his boy,” Dr. Brown noticed. He came right up to me and said, “Don’t get any ideas about leaving Bible school.”

I don’t know if Dr. Brown discerned that prophetically or if Roberts had said something to him—but I sensed he was looking out for my best interest. Back then, Dr. Brown was very prophetic, to the point that students were nervous to walk by him for fear that he knew the secrets of their hearts. And it was definitely the right decision.

EARLY QUESTIONS AND LATER SKEPTICISM
I did notice that Roberts was effeminate, and I wondered about his sexual identity. There was even a distant suspicion that his motives might be nefarious. But I reasoned that there was no way someone who had "gone to heaven" and had powerful encounters with God as a teenager could be living a homosexual lifestyle.

Let me add: I’ve since grown quite skeptical of people who claim to have gone to heaven—especially when they use those encounters to gain fame. When Paul wrote about going to heaven, he did so in the third person, almost embarrassed. He said that he “heard inexpressible things, things that no one is permitted to tell.”

Yet today we have people claiming to go back and forth from heaven, writing books about it, and getting rich from it. Entire ministries have been built on alleged heavenly visits, often amplified through media platforms.

Let me show you how easy it is. I could write a book tomorrow called, "I ALSO WENT TO HEAVEN." I could make up a story: describe how heaven has so many colors we've never seen, that the laws of physics don't apply, and that I flew with angels... I'm a pretty good storyteller. No one could prove I am lying. And if I put it online or got someone who's known for interviewing people who've been to heaven to interview me, the book would sell. I am 99% sure there are people who do not fear the Lord who are doing that right now. There is a massive segment of charismatic Christianity that cannot get enough of that type of material.

Yes, I’m skeptical—but at the time, I believed it.

A MANIPULATIVE “PROPHECY”
Fast forward a couple of years. I had moved to Maryland and met a beautiful Israeli believer—Elana Vaknin. We got engaged and planned to get married that summer. When I was visiting my parents in Richmond. I heard that Roberts would be speaking and was eager to see him.

I went with a few friends, and during his message, he said at least four times: “There is somebody here who is about to marry the wrong person.” He made it appear that he was trying to preach his message, but he could not get away from this warning—someone in that audience was about to make a major life decision that was a mistake.

I was terrified. Was he talking about me? How many people in a room of fewer than 200 were engaged?

My best friend Bryan told me to ignore it. In those days, I was extremely impressionable when someone gave a “prophetic word.” I didn’t yet understand how much those words could be filtered through human emotion—or even fabricated.

Looking back, I believe Roberts may have sensed that I was getting married and became jealous. This was before I had any concrete evidence regarding his sexuality. Maybe someone had told him—I never asked. This was before social media, after all.

LEARNING TO DISCERN
I appreciated Bryan’s ability to completely dismiss the warning. We need to learn to hear from God ourselves and not become overly dependent on prophetic words—especially when they contradict what we feel God is saying, and the counsel of trusted people. Everyone in our community believed that Elana and I were meant to be together. And now, 38 years later, it’s clear that it was the right decision.

THE SCANDAL
About 15 years later, in the early 2000s, news broke that Roberts had engaged in a homosexual relationship—as a senior pastor—with his youth pastor. I was not surprised. What little was written about it did not accurately portray the situation. It was framed as consensual.

There is no such thing as a consensual sexual relationship between a senior pastor and a youth pastor under his authority.

ABUSE, NOT CONSENT
I know for a fact that the youth pastor—out of sheer agony and frustration from manipulation and abuse—ended the relationship and made plans to leave. Roberts begged him not to. The youth pastor (whose name I will not mention, and I urge others to keep it that way) called Roberts’ own pastor the next night and reported what had happened.

It was abuse. It was manipulation.

Staff members had heard rumors about Roberts’ sexual behavior in the past, but those concerns were dismissed as gossip, meant to hurt his reputation. I have reached out to leaders who were around at the time, and no one has responded. Many of them cut off the victim as quickly as possible—all except one, whose name I will also not mention.

That was more than 20 years ago.

MINISTRY AND REALITY
I’ve been in pastoral ministry since the late ’80s. You cannot be in ministry long without encountering people who experience same-sex attraction. Early on, I did everything I could to help one individual, naively believing a little that inner healing or deliverance would eliminate temptation entirely.

This led me to engage with experts. A leader of a ministry helping people out of a homosexual lifestyle, as one who once lived as a homosexual, shared with me that, after years of being happily married, he still dealt with temptation regularly. That has been consistent with most people I’ve known in similar situations.

With Lairdon becoming more visible again, it is his responsibility to address this publicly. How is he different? What guardrails does he have? Has there been any additional offenses? Does he understand that what he did was abusive?

Most of you know my position: if you have a sexual relationship with someone under your authority, it is predatory—period. No matter how anointed you claim to be, you are disqualified from public ministry. Preaching is a sacred honor, not a right.

So yes, I am deeply concerned when I see him gaining access to students who are unaware of his past. I am concerned when he teaches about the “generals of the faith,” discussing their moral failures and recovery, while withholding his own history—a history that caused deep harm to another person.v

NINETY DAYS?
Lairdon stepped away from ministry for 90 days.

Ninety days!

He used his position of power and prophetic authority to draw someone into a sexual relationship—and was sidelined for 90 days. How long do you think it took the young man he abused to find healing? I can assure you it was far longer than 90 days.

In an interview with Alan DiDio, he says, “Well, everybody great has done something stupid. Sometimes we all know about it, and sometimes we don’t. But they have all done it.” I believe he is alluding to his own failures when he says this. Part of how he justifies his behavior is by pointing to the moral failures of others—suggesting that many of the “Generals” fell in similar ways. And yes, we could certainly add more names to that list in recent history.

COMPASSION WITHOUT PLATFORM
I do have compassion for Roberts. He grew up in a dysfunctional home, even though they were all people of faith. I believe he was also exposed to things he shouldn't have been, growing up without a father in the house. That part is his story to tell, but I only mentioned it to say that while I don’t believe he should be in ministry, I am concerned for the wholeness of his soul. Every person, through repentance, can be restored to Jesus.

Did he go to heaven? Did Jesus appear to him and tell him to study God’s generals? I don’t know. I don’t particularly care.
I care about him as a person. My prayer is that he finds full and lasting healing. But not as a minister.

And as someone who believes he began grooming me when I was a Bible student, I do not believe Roberts Lairdon should have access to young, impressionable students who are hungry for God and easily captivated by claims of heavenly encounters and spiritual authority.

A FINAL WORD ON THE CHARISMATIC MOVEMENT
Roberts has long emphasized the power and anointing that flowed through the “generals of the faith.” I see similar tendencies in parts of the charismatic world today—an overemphasis on apostolic authority, prophetic utterance over nations (that are mostly wrong with no accountability), and apostolic decrees.

To be clear, I am 100% charismatic. I believe the Book of Acts is a blueprint for the Church today. But the original apostles put more emphasis on personal sanctification, humility, in spiritual formation.

But too many excuse sexual sin as a minor obstacle rather than a disqualifying issue.

That is why people can overlook what Roberts did. This is why shepherds who prey are rarely disciplined effectively. Abuse is often overlooked. Crimes are often not reported to the authorities. Nothing can interfere with this great man of God’s calling. Certainly not God’s standards.

A SOBERING WARNING
Let me close with the words of Pastor Alexander Venter:

"Personal sanctification from the works of the flesh and old patterns of uncrucified appetites—that come out in living a double life sexually among leaders, where they are molesting young girls, having affairs behind the scenes, and stealing money—money, sex, and power. So, power abuse, driven by unmet ego needs and platform-driven ministry.

"All of this underlying reality points to a lack of spirituality, a lack of Christian character. So spiritual formation, character development—the old theological word, sanctification—is all but absent in restoration theology (that you find in Bickle, Wagner, Joyner) because it’s all about: if you have the restoration of the Holy Spirit in your life, you’re fine. You’re now equipped as the Elijah generation to join Gideon’s army and wreak havoc in the kingdom of Satan and bring revival. Just pray and preach and prophesy, and revival will come.

"Whether you are still struggling with unresolved inner issues—both from past wounds as well as uncrucified flesh, even disordered sexual appetites—that’s not considered a major issue, because the Spirit is seen as empowering you to do the work of the kingdom regardless."

The Ex-gay psyche by Jim Marjoram

 CHRIS WRITES:
Anybody who has had the bathroom floor experience with God....(whether a single one or one of many...and the phrase is...as you received Christ as Lord...inner desperation.....so walk in Him...inner desperation)...cannot, regardless of sexual orientation...well I wanted to say orientation, but like gay, i think it's a n Illuminati phrase attached to a minority group, that they plan to first raise up, then later smash, as they did in Hitler's Germany....remember Berlin decadence, then concentration camps.....they took their first potshot by inventing AIDS and trying it out in SanFrancisco.....

nope this blog article stands out for much bigger and very perceptive reasons

To me it epitomises the whole of first and secondlevel Christianity.
You see, as in the natural, so in the Spirit.
Your inner agenda is what the 1st and 2nd Commandment are about....and to be quite honest....NOTHING BUT THE RELEASE of JESUS CHRIST HIMSELF in your inner being, is ever going to fulfil those two commandments of LOVE DRIVE.

Jim speaks here of subverting homosexual drives with overlays of religious activity.
Well it never worked subverting my sexual drives.
I was a published charismatic songwriter. And the songs that never got out to the wider world certainly were sung in all sorts of groups, Exeter University at times, and the churches I was involved with.
I led worship.
Then in Emsworth we as a bunch were taught how to take things to the nth degree leading in worship.
BUT ALL OF THIS WAS NO HELP.

Romans 7 TIME.

BIG TIME.

Gay, lover of women, lover of purple headed dolphins from Mars....none of it is any help unless Christ can break through the whole deluded self image of being a "Genesis 3" separate being, a self-empowered god.
When as Romans 7 shows us clearly...not off the page...but as St Paul experienced it and graphically relays it...it is the literal "revelation of sin in the flesh".
I can only articulate it like this....
It's a marionette suddenly waking up to the fact that all this time it has felt independent...but for the first time learns the devastating truth...IT ONLY WORKS BY STRINGS. Yup, that's right , "Human beings" only "work" by spirit operator.

I digress....Here's JIM......

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

I'm going to go out on a limb here, and make some assumptions about people I don't personally know. Not something I would normally do, but bear with me.

As most of you may know by now, I spent many years in ex-gay reparative therapy. In fact most of my life involved some sort of attempt at becoming "straight".

My most concerted effort was with Living Waters, a part of Desert Streams ministries run by Andrew Comisky.

Without spending ages going into the details of how it all worked, there was a disturbing psychological aspect that I began to see in everyone who claimed to be healed/set free/changed etc. I call it religious obsession. I'm sure a psychologist would have more interesting terms for it!

What seems to happen is a purposeful setting up pf a system of dualism in their minds in an attempt to subvert the "temptations of the flesh" (ie homosexuality). This involves embracing the view that we are worthless scum (generalisation, but basically true) and focusing more and more on Jesus and the aspects of his blood and crucifixion. The pull to keep deferring to the religious activities of confession, humility (or perhaps self abasement), self examination etc, become obsessive as the core issue of being gay refuses to go away.

The result of this is an avoidance of the real issue by smothering it with religious activity - activity of the mind as well as ritual. Constant efforts at self-brainwashing through reading the bible, supportive literature, accountability to other equally obsessed people until that's all they can think about.

The end result is people who have deep sexual incongruity, low self-esteem that is forever being propped up by religious performance, judgementalism, and an inability to communicate with anyone outside of their paradigm.

Andy Comisky is a very clear example of this, especially since he has converted to Roman Catholicism. Reading his more recent blogs, its easy to see how he has become totally lost in this obsession in an attempt to override and divert his mind from the core issues. This is really common amongst all these guys, and when you take a step back from it you realise how creepy and disturbing it really is. The longer they go on, the more detached from reality they become.

Time and time again we see guys involved in ex-gay ministry "fall". But they don't have affairs or encounters with women, as one would expect if they had been cured and were tempted like straight guys. They go back to their core sexual identity... hmmm.

There is an incredible unreality to it all, a lack of integrity and congruity. There's a retreat into a fantasy world. Its a denial of all we are in God, a slap in Jesus' face and an exercise in creating a God of our own design.

It would just be sad if it wasn't for the deceptive power these people hold over weak and vulnerable guys, desperate to understand who they are.

So yeah, I've made something of a judgement on Andy and others like him. But I've been there and know how it works. I've seen it and experienced it. What a waste of life.

A Distinct Sound 1 :Homosexuality and Women in the church

Facebook Note 5th September 2013AC Welch
But now, brethren, if I come to you speaking in tongues, what will I profit you unless I speak to you either by way of revelation or of knowledge or of prophecy or of teaching? Yet even lifeless things, either flute or harp, in producing a sound, if they do not produce a distinction in the tones, how will it be known what is played on the flute or on the harp? For if the [c]bugle produces an indistinct sound, who will prepare himself for battle? So also you, unless you utter by the tongue speech that is clear, how will it be known what is spoken? For you will be speaking into the air. 10 There are, perhaps, a great many kinds of [d]languages in the world, and no kind is without meaning. 11 If then I do not know the meaning of the language, I will be to the one who speaks a [e]barbarian, and the one who speaks will be a [f]barbarian [g]to me. 12 So also you, since you are zealous of [h]spiritual gifts, seek to abound for the edification of the church.

Looking at the title you think, aha, Chris is going make a distinct point from the Law that homosexuality is wrong and Women should know their place.

Looking at the scripture is even more puzzling, because you'd think, ah, this is about the use of tongues in the church.

Well it's more about what the first three words say : A distinct sound.

Let's backtrack. This writer was brought up in a very leftbrain way by two physics teachers and we all attended a leftbrain Methodist church.  The methodism of the 60s was running very close if not in parallel with Anglican Bishops. There probably wasn't a resurrection, and who knows, possibly not a God. So after 12 years of this I reached puberty and did a completely rational thing with all this input. I became an atheist.
Methodism had, to say the least, a very indistinct sound.

The devil fought tooth and nail through me NOT to attend places where born again people gathered, but by virtue of my schoolfriend's persistance, I did finally agree to attend a Billy Graham film shown at a monthly evangelistic youth meeting. This was the first DISTINCT  Spirit sound I'd heard in my life. And funnily enough I responded immediately, because I'd found atheism so utterly depressing.

The next distinct SPIRIT SOUND was not human. 6 weeks later a whole load of young people were being prayed for to receive the baptism in the Spirit. I'd started to be filled....but then I received this strong inner indication that I should shout Hallelujah as loud as I could. It was a quiet suburban estate house near London. Although not quite Stepford Wives , it really felt like it. I knew that if I obeyed that inner prompt my whole life future would "wipe" and I would by that act be writing a new one. I can still feel the fear pressing on me, the strong pressure to conform, to uphold my upbringing by sane parents that had taught Kofi Annan. (Stepford Wives and Kofi Annan is ofcourse retrospect...but it conveys inwardly what was going on.)

The FIRE of the HOLY SPIRIT literally blew my little 13 year old life apart, in that room, on that day. Like an early Toronto Experience, people supported me as I staggered back down the stairs of my friends' house. Everybody commented on glory being on my face. The following term I took this fire into school with me and we had a small revival.

Here are some distinct Spirit sounds after this.
  • The night Pastor Wurmbrand came to preach at the Baptist Church but said the Lord forbade him to talk on Communist cells anymore. He talked non stop on Romans 8.
  • the tape recording of Ern Baxter at the Shepherd's Conference in Kansas 1975 Thy Kingdom Come brought back to Germany by my German friend Martin. LH column of my blog on audio mp3
  • the many times I heard Ern Baxter after that ....the Lakes : on Saul and David, Capel : on Covenant Love between David and Jonathan. The Dales Bible week on leaving Egypt, going through the wilderness, going into the Land
  • R. Edward Miller....Google him  the man behind the 1950s Argentine revival
  • Two messages in person given by Mother Basilea Schlink: Seek the Face of the God of Jacob as at Peniel,Go the Way of the Lamb it is a way of Great Power
  • Many key messages by Sam Fife,Eldred Linden,John Clarke  (Third Feast messages)
  • The Book Yes I Am by Norman Grubb serialised last month on my blog
  • The music of Keith Green
I couldn't articulate why Keith was different from the "cleverness of Larry Norman", but I knew Keith carried the same fire.
Now I use the expression Third Level, but I might just as easily say Holiest Place, or Third Feast /Feast of Tabernacles.
It is the Shekinah Glory Fire that sits above the Mercy Seat
It is the Message of Christ, the Living Christ in you
It is the fire that burned in the disciples as Jesus shared on the road into Emmaus
It is THE Christianity that has cut out the MIDDLE MAN of Genesis 3, the delusion of an independent self, a go between, a middle way between you and a distant God
It is God come home to roost...or as the scriptures say...come to His habitation....or the earth properly as His footstool, where He can abide and put His feet up.

I'm giving all my prophetic secrets away, which means unlike John Paul Jackson, Graham Cooke and Rick Joyner I now cannot sell my DVD secrets for money, because you've had them free. But one of my secrets is I am listening for this distinct trumpet call sound from behind the veil in everything that Christendom produces. As you know, up until this time period you could go to years and years of Christian meetings and never hear it.

So, just as you are giving up all hope of me reaching my points, that is the foundation of this post. Onto which I now bring the subjects of homosexuality and women.

Let's do women first.
These have both been issues in our Anglican Church.

I say, forget concerning yourselves with women almost.
it is [n]improper for a woman to speak in church.

Let's rewrite that...it is improper for anybody but the MAN Jesus Christ to speak through any God dwelt container be it male or female. Only Jesus Christ. Only Shekinah Fire. Only the third level message. Only galations 2:20. Only the MALE DIVINE SPERM OR SEED OF GOD is going to impregnate God's only Holy Bride such that when her time is due this Genesis 12 WOMAN shall bring forth after her own Divine Kind....SONS OF GOD.

No waffling man or woman, still searching vainly in his or her leftbrain is going to bring forth that FIRM CLEAR BUGLE SOUND that calls forth Spirit in the earth.

Do you understand that is my beef with women who speak. They better have the MAN JESUS CHRIST speaking out of them, because any male can make an indistinct  farting bugle sound that doesn't bring forth man nor beast, why compound the problem still further with elements of the spirit of Jezebel? It's hard enough to get the male flesh Ahabs moving off their couches to begin with, why compound the issue with flowery waffling women? UNLESS...UNLESS....those women are bursting through the veil FROM the HOLIEST PLACE very very PREGNANT with MALE SEED WORD. Jean Darnall and Ruth Heflin both went through hell as pioneers after Amy Semple Macpherson, and other notables who have led revival. But "a gift makes way for itself".

Homosexuality. 2 brief points.
Anybody who has heard the torture of the heart of someone that genuinely loves God but was born with a love for the same sex, and their subsequent brushes with heartless LAW preaching, with no real impartation of the Person of Jesus Christ....hears the sound of a "bruised reed you shall not break". Ouch and Mega Ouch.

Point two is the opposite.
I have never yet heard a homosexual or lesbian to my knowledge have a DISTINCT SPIRIT SOUND when preaching. The sound of Jesus Christ from beyond the veil. Tinged with Shekinah glory. Maybe I just havent met the right person yet.
Any idiot heterosexual or homosexual can lead an Anglican meeting liturgy....it's worship by numbers, worship by process in a canned meat factory. It is a fact that many high up bishops openly have second lives as druids, and less openly as witches. A converted witch told us decades ago. The Compromise is so great in State churches anywhere that anyone having a Distinct sound will be immediately put out and seen off. A DISTINCT SOUND comes from the grace work of Jesus in a soul. It is not humanly produced. A man's message comes out of his own story of God saving him or her by grace alone. People want a ministry because they desire a certain credibility, but the TRUTH AS A DISTINCT SOUND gets you removed or squeezed out as quick as Jesus was from the Temple and synagogues. Salvation isn't apart from us like some theological philosophy, it's us having caught the fire from the heavenly altar.

I’m A Christian And I’m Sorry: An Open Letter by Joel Spencer

INTRODUCTION

1 Corinthians 12:12-14 “For even as the body is one and yet has many members, and all the members of the body, though they are many, are one body, so also is Christ. For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free, and we were all made to drink of one Spirit. For the body is not one member, but many.”

Who is this mysterious “Body”? What is She speaking as an entity in this hour? As I look around and see what the Christian majority say and do, I often feel like the Body of Christ has a severe identity crisis. She says one thing and does another. She condemns and calls out yet continually fails to love as She’s been loved-unconditionally. She critiques and judges but when the tables are turned She declares “How dare you!?!?” I believe that the entire world is watching and wondering what Christianity is today. What brand of Christianity is the real one? What denomination has it all right? Why do Christians have so much division, within themselves and with others outside of the Church? What moves Us, motivates Us and drives Us to speak and act as We do? Do We really think that We have all the answers and need to demand all others follow or else they’re damned? Is Our primary motivation releasing God’s Kingdom upon this earth or is it tradition and personal preference? Arrogance, pride and elitism seem to drive Us as a people and I believe that it grieves the heart of God.

I often get frustrated and ultimately saddened as I talk with people about the American brand of Christianity. It’s extraordinarily popular (not at all a narrow way that few are finding) and is primarily rooted in advancing a “Christianized” kingdom of men. It demands following a set of guidelines that almost always contradicts the teachings of Jesus. It calls you to elevate yourself (and your nation) to be a strong-willed overcomer that leads all others and never backs down from a confrontation. Most Believers hate to discuss this and over the years I’ve learned that offense is an absolute surety. I’ve received more verbal condemnation and experienced more juvenile name-calling from other Believers over questioning their personal beliefs than I’ve ever received from non-Believers when discussing Christianity. Some friends and family have clearly chosen to distance themselves from my wife and me for what we believe. It’s this lack of willingness to admit any possible error or to even discuss how biblical Christianity may differ from popular Christianity that I believe is leading the Body of Christ down a deeper and deeper pit of false representation of Jesus Christ. I will never be the absolute source for all that is Christianity. I’m flawed and only by God’s grace will I ever be empowered to share His truth accurately.

Where We all go from here is the challenge. It’s a challenge because it’s an individual decision to embrace the all-others-before-myself life that Christ modeled for us. It cannot be adopted as a church requirement or membership guideline. It’s not something that just happens either. One must deliberately choose to die to their own selfish desires and willingly abandon all that this temporal world has to offer our carnal pleasures for control, power and status. It’s appalling that the patterns of this world have simply been adopted by Christianity. Bigger, better, stronger is the Christian motto of the times. Be your best you! Win! Lead! Be the superior one in all you do! When I study the teachings of Christ, I just can’t buy into it. The world, this nation, our cities, our neighbors see Us as egotistical and judgmental and We’re somehow entirely OK with that. When do We embrace humility and become servants of all?

So I wonder, where are the ones willing to lay down their lives for others? Where are the ones who eagerly take the lower position in order for another to be lifted? Where are the Believers that would even consider setting aside their personal preferences for a moment in order to study and see if it is in alignment whatsoever with the Word of God? Where are the ones who are willing to openly assess whether or not their personal belief system and the actions that come out of it line up with what Jesus commands and instructs the Believer? More and more I’m arriving at this destination: I cannot and will never be able to do anything about majority Christianity’s actions. Although compelled to address them since they say with their mouths that we share one Body, I’m beginning to call it what it is and tend to my own pursuit of dying to self and pursuing Christ-likeness. So with that in mind, I compiled a list of what I would like to say to others outside of the Church, moreso with my life than with my mouth. But I will start here and venture out to redefine who people have been led to believe the Body of Christ to be.

If the Body of Christ continues down this same path, unwilling to honestly and openly assess who We are and how the world sees Us, generations to come will grow more and more disinterested in the God that we profess to know and the Jesus that we claim to represent. Friends, we must fall to our knees and implore God to strip away all pretenses that hold us back from properly embodying His agenda in our generation. We cannot continue in our arrogance and pride as this age approaches its culmination.

The following posts in this series will address, categorically, how I’ve personally witnessed the Body of Christ respond to several issues and specifically, people groups for nearly forty years now (myself included, for many years). That’s followed by what my personal, deliberate response to these issues will be going forward. I implore you to take the time to read the Scriptures listed. If you skip over them, you miss the entire motive behind every topic addressed. If we Who profess to live as Christ do not adhere to His teachings above all other laws, teachings and traditions, we’ll be destined to continue failing to effectively show Christ to others as we have in the past.

PART 1

To the Homosexual, yes, I am a Christian but I’m sorry that we’ve judged you and treated you as though you’re entirely objectionable and vile. I’m sorry that we’ve rallied against you and stooped so low as to enter into childish arguments with you that just make us look conceited and foolish. I won’t fear you or condemn you just because I’m incapable of properly understanding you. I have been shown unconditional love by Jesus Christ and I now intend to show you the same. I do believe that homosexuality is a sin, just as are many things that are in my own life as well. With that in mind, l will choose to establish love for you in my innermost being before even considering to address your sin issues for I have enough of my own.

1 Peter 3:8-9 “All of you be harmonious, sympathetic, brotherly, kindhearted, and humble in spirit; not returning evil for evil or insult for insult, but giving a blessing instead; for you were called for the very purpose that you might inherit a blessing.”

Philippians 2:3 “Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves.”

To the men and women who live in the streets of this nation, yes, I am a Christian but I’m sorry that We’ve neglected you. We’ve belittled you because when we see you, we cannot relate to your circumstances. We’ve said under our breath that you somehow must deserve your current condition and that has been haughty and prideful of Us. I’m sorry we’ve created sterile environments within our buildings that aren’t welcoming or inviting to you. Perhaps most of all I’m sorry that our heated and air conditioned buildings sit primarily empty 140 hours a week yet you cannot stay within them. I choose to see you. I choose to take time out of my daily routine to stop and get to know you, not because I pity you but because you’re beautifully created in God’s image and you have value. I choose to help you anyway that I can, financially or otherwise. My Jesus sees you and is close to you, no matter what your circumstance.

Luke 6:34 “If you lend to those from whom you expect to receive, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners in order to receive back the same amount.”

1 John 3:17 “But whoever has the world’s goods, and sees his brother in need and closes his heart against him, how does the love of God abide in him?”

Mark 9:41 “For whoever gives you a cup of water to drink because of your name as followers of Christ, truly I say to you, he will not lose his reward.”

Luke 14:7-11 “And He began speaking a parable to the invited guests when He noticed how they had been picking out the places of honor at the table, saying to them, ‘When you are invited by someone to a wedding feast, do not take the place of honor, for someone more distinguished than you may have been invited by him, and he who invited you both will come and say to you, ‘Give your place to this man,’ and then in disgrace you proceed to occupy the last place. But when you are invited, go and recline at the last place, so that when the one who has invited you comes, he may say to you, ‘Friend, move up higher’; then you will have honor in the sight of all who are at the table with you. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.”

To the Murderer, yes, I am a Christian but I’m sorry that we’ve raised handfuls of stones in anger and retaliation to take your life because you took someone else’s. I’ll be the first to admit, it’s hard in an age and culture so corrupt and vile to know how to respond correctly to what you’ve done but just discarding you like trash, only worthy of death cannot be the only solution. If I get the chance to talk with you, I’d like to discuss how every action of man is led by a deep-seeded will that’s guided by forces unseen. I believe that my wrestling is not against you, but against those in high places who persuaded you to act out of an evil heart. I too have been under the curse of these and have been set free by Jesus Christ. I believe that, because the Word of God tells me such, that there must be a way to overcome evil with good. I honestly don’t have a good response to recompense properly what you’ve done but I will first choose to love you as Christ has loved me, one ranked among the greatest of all sinners. (Christians rally against abortion to no end, clearly stating that it’s murder. Despite this, I’ve yet to hear of anyone attempting to justify chasing down the young women who have them, demanding they too be given the death penalty for doing so. We’ve embraced double standards for far too long.) I will love you for I too have housed murder in my evil heart of stone before Jesus exchanged it.

Romans 12:18-21 “If possible, so far as it depends on you, be at peace with all men. Never take your own revenge, beloved, but leave room for the wrath of God, for it is written, ‘Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,’ says the Lord. ‘But if your enemy is hungry, feed him, and if he is thirsty, give him a drink; for in so doing you will heap burning coals on his head.’ Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.”

PART 2

To the elected leaders of this nation, yes, I am a Christian and I’m sorry that we’ve failed to pray for you with an honest and pure heart. I’m sorry that we constantly tear you down with our words and primarily only discuss you as juveniles with scornful Facebook messages and hate-filled rhetoric. I will pray for you whether I agree with your decisions or not. I will believe that Jesus Christ Himself will visit you and lead you to a knowledge of Who He is, should you open yourself to Him. I won’t blindly and ignorantly assume that one’s involvement in a political party somehow determines one’s personal spiritual condition. I commit to pray for you whether I personally agree with your agenda or not.

1 Timothy 2:1-4 “I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all men, for kings and all who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity. This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.”

To the poor and hungry that live throughout neighborhoods all over this land, yes, I am a Christian and I’m sorry that Our priorities are primarily self-centered. We’ve chosen to erect luxurious buildings and fill them with flat screens, elaborate sound systems, light shows and entirely unnecessary comforts. We spend our personal money on electronics and nice cars. We buy our elementary-age children iPads, wear designer clothes and live in high-end housing while you’re passed over and thrown occasional bags of cheap, canned food (if you meet certain criteria). I’m sorry We’ve not taken care of you like Jesus instructed us to. In doing so, we’ve not just neglected you, We’ve neglected the very One that We claim to represent. I will share my food with you. I will strive to live a less “me” oriented lifestyle. I will choose to continually let go of the comforts of this world so that I might better help care for you. Jesus is your friend and knows your every need.

Deuteronomy 15:7-8 “If there is a poor man with you, one of your brothers, in any of your towns in your land which the LORD your God is giving you, you shall not harden your heart, nor close your hand from your poor brother; but you shall freely open your hand to him, and shall generously lend him sufficient for his need in whatever he lacks.”

Luke 4:18 “The Spirit of the Lord is on Me, because he has anointed Me to preach good news to the poor.”

Luke 14:12-14 “When you give a luncheon or a dinner, do not invite your friends or your brothers or your relatives or rich neighbors, otherwise they may also invite you in return and that will be your repayment. But when you give a reception, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, and you will be blessed, since they do not have the means to repay you; for you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous.”

Luke 12:33 “Sell your possessions and give to the poor; make yourselves money belts which do not wear out, an unfailing treasure in heaven, where no thief comes near nor moth destroys.”

To the atheists of the world, yes, I am a Christian and I’m sorry that We as a people are largely biblically illiterate and can therefore only respond to most of your questions with “it’s all about faith”. We’re threatened by your knowledge and ability to debate your side and therefore resort to name-calling and religious pride to hollowly “defend” ourselves when We feel threatened. I choose to admit that I don’t have all of the answers and I never will. Furthermore, I’ve studied for myself the origins of this nation and I don’t believe that they articulate whatsoever a biblical foundation upon the teachings of Christ. Therefore I don’t believe it should be demanded of you that you believe or else you’re not “patriotic” enough for this falsely-monikered “Christian” nation. Man-made religion is not the answer to everything and your non-belief is your freedom just as believing is mine. Many of you are more moral and actively pursuing good than Us and that’s surely an embarrassing matter that We must address. I won’t fear you or write you off as evil just because you don’t believe like I do. I will be determined to study the Scriptures more so that I can be better equipped to respond to challenges and questions that you might have. I believe that discussions with those possessing differing opinions is actually extremely healthy and beneficial for a thriving spiritual life.

Ephesians 4:1-2 “I implore you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, showing tolerance for one another in love.”

PART 3

To the martyrs and saints who have gone before Us, yes, I am a Christian and I’m sorry that We’ve seemingly forgotten the legacy that you intended to leave behind. We’ve forsaken even the slightest possibility of persecution and traded it in for conformity and comfort. We know not what you endured outside of topical reading and fond recollections in sermons. We teach Our children about you and what you did for the cause of Christ but then encourage them to never ruffle feathers or ever go against the grain. We dishonor you by living lives of silence and secret. I choose to remember what you did Stephen. I choose to meditate on your death and how you were full of the Spirit until you breathed your last breath. As you I choose to keep my gaze on Christ and off of the coming persecutions of this world, even those that will and already have come, from the mouths of those Who claim to follow my Jesus.

Matthew 5:11 “Blessed are you when people insult you and persecute you, and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of Me. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward in heaven is great; for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.”

Hebrews 11:35-38 “Others were tortured, not accepting their release, so that they might obtain a better resurrection; and others experienced mockings and scourgings, yes, also chains and imprisonment. They were stoned, they were sawn in two, they were tempted, they were put to death with the sword; they went about in sheepskins, in goatskins, being destitute, afflicted, ill-treated (men of whom the world was not worthy), wandering in deserts and mountains and caves and holes in the ground.”

Romans 12:14 “Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse.”

To the other nations that We’ve proudly invaded and eradicated in the name of global peace and our own safety, yes, I am a Christian and I’m sorry that We feel the need to play the role of God throughout the entire globe for our own personal expansion. Wars waged in God’s name produce financial gain and flex global muscle and might for this nation whilst pilfering the lives of our (and your) sons and daughters. We call it patriotism and giving the “enemy” what they have coming to them as well as coming to your aid, even if you don’t desire it. Bible verses that state phrases like “be strong and courageous” have been misconstrued to justify carrying out military agendas in natural strengths. In fact though, such verses are speaking of spiritual might and valor not earthly gain. We’ve sworn our allegiance to a flag instead of to the teachings of Jesus, Our one true King. This nation is not God’s favorite and I don’t expect you to look to Us to be your role model. I understand that biblically, global peace is not in the future of any of the kingdoms of men. Wars and rumors of wars will continue to affect us all until this age comes to an end. That being said, I will choose to lay down any vengeful, wrath-induced desires to eradicate you from existence that may want to rise up within my flesh, induced by patriotic “rights” that I’ve been led to believe I must execute at any cost. You too are created from dust as I, held together by God’s hand. Only His lovingkindness and mercy can save either of us.

1 Thessalonians 5:13-22 “Live in peace with one another. We urge you, brethren, admonish the unruly, encourage the fainthearted, help the weak, be patient with everyone. See that no one repays another with evil for evil, but always seek after that which is good for one another and for all people. Rejoice always; pray without ceasing; in everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. Do not quench the Spirit; do not despise prophetic utterances. But examine everything carefully; hold fast to that which is good; abstain from every form of evil.”

To the illegal aliens of this nation, yes, I am a Christian and I’m sorry that We have treated you as though you’re not welcome here. We double-speak as we revel in the arrival of past generations to this land of freedom yet we despise you and (especially) your children in our schools. I’m sorry We forget that you are created in God’s image as We are yet We treat you as a lowly detriment to our society. I choose to be more concerned with whether or not you personally know Jesus Christ than I am for paying for your health care. I will take steps to get to know you when given the opportunity, despite our differences and cultural discrepancies. Jesus recognizes no races and creeds.

Romans 12:16 “Be of the same mind toward one another; do not be haughty in mind, but associate with the lowly. Do not be wise in your own estimation.”

Matthew 25:40 “Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me.”

Speaking into the air

It is just wonderful to know that His sheep hear His voice and recognize it, and recognize that of a counterfeit.
Praise You Jesus.  Facebook yesterday
This is a man called David Ellul walking away, sandals in hand firmly convinced I am a counterfeit.  I hope the regular readers of this blog know otherwise. The conversation is put up here to demonstrate how you can have a complete conversation these days between two sets of Spirit -filled Christians and the the one layer has no perception of what the other layer is on about. I appreciate I wasn't fast enough in sliding my quickdraw confession out of my holster in declaring not only is Jesus Lord but also He is God, so this fuelled the last repost no doubt.

I don't know what a guy like Dan Bowen feels about a conversation like this. But I have huge misgivings about guys in ministry to homosexuals who themselves are not clear on who they now are and what Christ has done for them. To me it is exactly the representation of  Jesus phrase...you go 200 miles to make a single convert then you make him twice the son of hell that you are.    The tenor of this whole conversation is an almost exact reproduction of  1973 when Graham Pulkingham was pulling the last remaining hairs on his head out, trying to explain to our backwoods English Baptist folk  that the whole of ministry changes once we know "we have died and our lives are hidden with Christ in God"

Friday at 09:09 via Facebook MobileChris Welch The thing is it is relatively easy to teach a Romans 3-5 grace message and influence teens and twenties...the challenge comes later in people's 30s,40s and 50s when the core parts of our personality are challenged by the experience of Roman...s 6 to 8. I personally have never met a man in this age group who has left homosexuality to become a fully functioning Christ as me person. So this is a complete blank in my experience. Do people still identify themselves as homosexual but like the bishop of Lewes abstain....or not ,(as he transgressed into abuse..and became a media issue)? Does anyone out there know? Friday at 10:31Chris Welch Thanks for the link.I had looked at the ladies examples. A wellknown ministry called Mark Stibbe is setting up a "safe place" for UK ministers covering all sorts of issues which people could not risk sharing. In general the whole of the cha...rismatic move has no idea of the depths Jesus takes us to to bring us to the end of ourselves in order that His life be fully kickstarted in us.Whether its Graham Pulkingham sobbing for 3 months on a cold crypt floor,or my new friend having her family offer to pay £18000 to put her into the Priory as a Christian. Some churches run celebrate recovery programmes....but there is very little knowledge of the human condition that led someone as dedicated and "go for it,gungho " as the Apostle Peter to totally,I mean totally deny that he had had any contact at all with the man Jesus.See more
Friday at 13:47David Ellul Aldo the link you gave will only bring you to this same page. Am I the only one experiencing this?
Friday at 14:37David Ellul Yes even adults can be set free, not only from homosexuality but from every other demonic oppression. There are two pivotal requirements though.
(1) One must have a real desire to be set free from whatever it is he needs to be set free from....( It must be a heart issue)

(2) One must have a real, active, living relationship with Jesus the Messiah.

Those who say that they tried and have not been set free is because they love the sin more than they love Jesus.

When Jesus sets you free, you are free indeed.

In God's eyes we are all children, His Death and Resurrection overcame Death and Sin.

No grey area here.

If the Devil has the power to turn a Christian into a transsexual, surely the One who created the Devil has the power to set anyone free from any sin.

We all have been set free from one thing or another, we all deserved hell, but Jesus is willing and able to set us all free from bondage.

Thank you Jesus!See more

Jesus loves all sinners, He hates their sin. We, as His followers must aim to be like Him.
But then Facebook is not about God's truth is it?
Friday at 18:24David Ellul We have a powerful weapon, PRAYER!
Let us all agree with a prayerful heart, and lift those who desire to be set free to the One who has all Authority, Power and Might, the Lord Jesus Christ. That He will break the yoke and set the captives f...ree and enable them to live a Blessed, God centered life. We come against the spirit of homosexuality, to crush it and expose it to what it really is.
BE SET FREE!

Friday at 18:38Chris Welch Please understand that in making the subject very serious and questioning you deeply I am seeking to make Jesus bigger still. The key for me in other areas that I could not find any will in me to change was the revelation of this verse : Go...d is at work in you to will and to work for His own good pleasure. When i "saw" that on my insides, I realised it didn't even depend on my will....which has long decided that rebellion is a good idea....it is Him in me. That's why, with some when we do these deliverance prayers... it's like trying to paint on wet or muddy surfaces....doomed from the start. His goal is not to make a non-homosexual Christian. Or a non-lying Christian. Or a non-stealing Christian. He cuts out the middle man altogether and Killed us at the Cross. I have died and my life is hidden with Christ in God. I am not a new version. I am a new species.

Friday at 19:13David Ellul Dear Chris, That what you or I do does not have the power to make Jesus any bigger or smaller. I hope that I understand you correctly, when you say that there are areas in your life that are not aligned with God's will. Have you come to a ...decision to stop doing what displeases God? I think it is a matter of choice. If God is at work in a person, the person is in the process of change, if that person does not change would mean that God's work in that person is in vain. That is not the kind of God that I serve. Deliverance prayer becomes like trying to paint on wet or muddy surface WHEN THE ONE BEING DELIVERED FINDS COMFORT IN THE SIN HE IS IN BONDAGE TO, OR THE ONES PRAYING NEED DELIVERANCE THEMSELVES.
One cannot be a Christian and a homosexual, a thief, lair, murderer or an adulterer at the same time.
These are not my words, Jesus said that none of those practicing sin will even see the Kingdom of God.

The Blood of Christ does not HIDE sin, It REMOVES sin.

Friday at 19:56Chris Welch The blood of Christ hides and covers sins. The Body of Christ takes away Sin. This second Aspect almost has no teaching at all in the church and it is our true victory. In most churches are homosexuals trying ever so hard to live up to the gospel but the one preached is only the blood gospel so week after week people fall back without knowing Jesus came to give them a brand new identity through His Body death. This is why He said....
Friday at 21:49Chris Welch Unless you eat and drink of my Body and blood....and because this second stage is so hard to hear , nearly everybody walked off but for the disciples. Indeed your own reply shows you have thought you understood what I wrote...but I didn't w...rite what you thought I wrote...and your reply was quite patronising. I am trying my best to point you beyond "deliverance prayers" to a totally different level of teaching that the disciples only entered into after they had proved what utter rubbish they were at the time of Jesus crucifixion. It is only this level of teaching that will establish lasting change in our churches.See more

Friday at 23:37David Ellul It was the Holy Spirit that brought the disciples to the higher level of understanding. They did''t go to a different school to attain that. the Gospel has a perfect example of how the disciples were brought to a higher level of understanding when they have received the Holy Spirit, they could not understand a thing before then, Jesus always had to exp...lain... to them what was going on, what happened at pentecoste? BOOM their were filled with the Holy Spirit the helper to come and they understood everything it was taught to them in 3 years and they went out and preached the Gospel full of the Holy Spirit.

They didn't need to go to 7 years of theology at university neither do online courses, our teacher is the Holy Spirit and helper, many Christians spend their time learn theology and seeking approval of men with certificates to place on their walls and then when you take a close look at their Christian walk you find that they have not found much time to let the Holy Spirit work in them for the renewing of their minds, and you find them walking just the same as when they were in the world.

So what is the will of God? to spend all that time studying theology?

or make time to spend with the Holy Spirit to change you in the renewing of your mind?

As you know ,the church spent nearly 400 years missing the baptism in the Sprit from Luther to around 1900.It read the Bible, but completely missed it until God's Light really shone on this subject. So it is with every corporate move. Only in Hisa Light do we see light. And one litmus test is how free are the people in our churches? This requires honesty and thinking "outside church meetings". In meetings everyone appears fine.
