The Sterile Mule of Religion

Mule:The sterile hybrid offspring of a male donkey and a female

horse, characterized by long ears and a short mane.

Religion : the sterile hybrid offspring of the "Tree of the

Knowledge of Good and Evil" and the stubborn belief

that we are "more than God in a branch form".

Jesus did not lay

down His glory to teach us religion, but came to show us how

incarnation works in us. Chris Welch
***************
NB
Breakdown of "more than God in a branch form"
In Him we live and move and have our being.
The mystery of the gospel and the mystery of sin is tied up with how, whether saved or unsaved , our life is in God. Outside of Him there is nothing. He is the Author of life.
Rather like a computer virus that has to be "contained" by a security programme in a computer,
the Bible calls sin "that which leads astray" or leads to "transgression....literally crossing over a line that should not be crossed." But the mystery of sin is that it is God's life, but turned in on itself, self for self, self for selfish ends.
This is just like a computer virus which
uses the same software code, but has a totally destructive agenda.
In this way the virus is operating "more than" the original operating system.
This is what we mean by cancer cells in the body. They are body cells, but they are operating "more than" the body's own programming. Huge lumps of destructive matter build up to stifle the body's normal function.
God's Life in Adam in the beginning was unfolding perfectly. Had he not accepted the viral idea that he could in some way be "more than " God operating in him and through him...that there was a delusive false "separate extra existence to be had", wherein he could be like unto God, operating somehow extra to God's life in Him, the life which Adam had, contained all that was necessary for him to reach full maturity. But Adam saw something that wasn't there....something "more than" God going on.
All we are to be is containers of God's life. Branches of God's vine. Not just branches of His trunk. Branches in His vine. And a vine is both trunk and branches.
Religion starts from the lie that the devil sowed, and without dismantling the lie, breaking it right down to assess the real problem, instead it superimposes its own solution on the phony infrastructure. This would be like "working with" the odd twisted malformations of a huge cancerous tumour, rather than seeking to break it down, or reverse the cell multiplication.
This is why after being born again, or getting to know God, perhaps being baptised in the Holy Spirit, when we thought this must surely be the whole solution God was saying:
On the contrary....I want you all to Seek first the Kingdom of God and My righteousness.....
then all these other things will be added unto you.
We all replied : I thought that verse was only relevant before we found your salvation?
He replied : But you have hardly begun!
We had to see life reduced to an Xray. We had to reassess everything. If we got into ministry early, this possibly only served to compound the problem. Though saying that, Jesus still threw his own disciples in at the deep end. Now we had not only our lives to reassess, but also our idea of ministry.
We had to "see" our lives as God going on......not our "clever viral additions", where we were seeing "more than " God. Our clever programmes. Our children's programmes. Our charity programmes. Our ways of running God's services for Him. Our ways of "singing ourselves" into God's Presence.......all built on our notion that there was some separation there first????
The same has been going on in the way we
run relationships
run families
run business
run relaxation....or don't
everything........
everything!
When we confine ourselves to just God going on....in us ,through us....
yes to the Pride of Life it looks insufficient
not gaudy enough,
not impressive enough
not busy enough.
But the "pride of life" measures itself by cancerous tumours.
By odd excrescences, that might look "interesting", "exciting"
but ARE VERY DEAD, or HAVE TO BE ALL DISMANTLED ANYWAY.
God's stuff has reproductive life within itself. So it may look slow compared to the clever ideas, the automated programmes, the gee whizz busy - ness of it all....
but has anyone ever totalled up the power of
2 x 2 x 2 x2 etc....?
I did on my profile page for Facebook communication. This is the phrase I put on there:

1 communicates to 2, who in turn communicate to 2, and so on 20 times.....congratulations you have just touched 1, 048 , 576 lives with your one life!

Other Christian programmes have already broken down because the pastor committed adultery and the congregation found out! Remember, not every congregation finds out !!! Or clever ideas for your family have already broken down, because in order to achieve them both of you went out to work, never saw each other, or were too exhausted,
so you fell to temptation when another came by with understanding.....
so now, you too are divorced.
Running two houses and families is exhausting
and filled with friction.....

and really, your life never needed to have this huge cancerous growth sticking right out of it.
You were building "more than God".

Arthur Blessitt - February 2011 Update

Watching the news and TV of the Middle East is very familiar and moving for Denise and I. There is a huge upheaval underway in many nations there. We've carried the cross in every one of these countries & have friends in all these lands. The danger of war, chaos, death and destruction are everywhere. Followers of Jesus are growing in the Middle East with many turning to Jesus yet at the same time great repercussions are coming to the Believers. A great dispersion of about three quarters of a million Christians have had to flee Iraq. There has been a church there since just after the day of Pentecost. The result of the war there has reduced the number of Christians in half! Yet, these suffering followers of Jesus are seldom spoken about. We understand as we've been with all the Middle East groups with the cross.
At this explosive time Jesus is calling us back. We will give more details in our March E-Letter. We will share Jesus and help oppressed Christians. It will be a very dangerous and expensive trip. Please pray for this crosswalk even now and pray about a substantial donation of support to help send us again into the Valley of the Shadow of Death for Jesus. I know that you care. Please pray for your brothers and sisters! We will extend help to many needy Believers. Many of the greatest followers of Jesus are suffering there and I weep. Oh, Jesus use us to extend Your loving Hand to them and bring more to know You as Savior. To see photos and read about our crosswalks in Egypt, Yemen, Jordan, Gaza, Lebanon, Israel, Syria, Iraq, Iran, the Gulf States, Saudi Arabia, Libya, Tunisia, Turkey, Algeria, Sudan, Somalia, Djibouti, Morocco, etc., please go to the following link and click on the nation you want to read about. This will help your praying and understanding. www.blessitt.com/list_nations. Please pray that more religious freedom and not oppression comes as a result of all this turmoil. Yet we must know that Jesus said 'All power is given unto Me in Heaven and on Earth'. The Hand of God still raises up and casts down, Blessing and Praise to the Lord of Hosts.

The U.S.A also needs Jesus!
We are going full steam ahead with walking the streets & roads, tv, training people and sharing Jesus everywhere. Killing, greed and hate are ripping the heart and soul of our great nation apart. We are moving out to help reach our land for Christ. We have more outreach news coming. Glory! The only hope is in Jesus. Anyone in Christ is a new creation...the old is passed away and ...and all things become New! Evangelism and leading people to Jesus changes people! They move from Darkness into Light from the Power of Satan unto the Power of God. Be a witness, love and share with others the life changing message of Jesus unto Salvation. Let us go without fear to carry out the 'Great Commission' to Go into all the world and Preach the Gospel to every person.

Latest News

January has been a very beautiful time with Jesus. Have had some wonderful times with family. Denise had a birthday. She is now.....? Ha. Sophia also had her 7th birthday in early February. I am surrounded by love from my seven children, ten grandchildren and my wife. How truly blessed I am and how blessed we all are. I hosted 'Praise' on TBN TV from Costa Mesa, CA, plus I taught a training seminar about sharing Jesus. I was a guest with Paul Crouch Sr. and Paul Jr. as they interviewed Barry McGuire ('60's Rock Star, 'Eve of Destruction' etc.) and me. We talked about Barry coming out of Whiskey a Go-Go nightclub in the summer of 1969 and there I was chained to the cross on Sunset Blvd. He was stoned on drugs but looked into my eyes. He said, "Hey man, what's happening?" and my reply was one word "Jesus!" He immediately turned and walked away never to be the same again. Barry said "I saw nothing but compassion, love and concern pouring through your eyes toward me. I saw the love of Christ in your eyes." He came to Jesus about a year later and became a great leader of the Jesus Movement and is still today singing for Jesus full time at the age of 76. Paul Crouch says it was one of the most classic and moving programs ever on TBN. It was so good to be with Barry again. We did some rallies in New Zealand back in the 80's. It was very emotional to be with him on TV and also talk about the Jesus Movement. You see the 'Power' of one moment...one word 'Jesus' and where it led forty two years later and the road keeps going, at least for a while more. It would amaze you to know the many lives that have been changed, saved, blessed in the way of the cross.
We've been working hard on getting the new website up and running, creating new content and editing existing content. We'll let you know as soon as it's done. Please pray about this. We've booked our airline tickets for the Middle East!

This Month's Special Feature

One of the best things I've ever done was to have the art work set up and these plastic covered cards made. All over the world people want them. In stores and restaurants in America I give one out, other people see the card and want one too! It opens the way to share Jesus and bless others. They put the card in their wallet or purse. It has universal appeal.
For the month of February only we will send you ten of these Palm Cards when you make a donation to support this ministry or place an order from our online store. This will bless you, your family and friends. To donate or order please go to www.blessitt.com Remember we have "the Cross' film, book and audio cd also at the online store.

Greetings from Denise & Sophia

Both Sophia and I have had birthdays in the last two
weeks. I remember God's word that says "Your eyes saw
my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they
all were written, the days fashioned for me, when as yet
there were none of them". Psalm 139:16. What comfort
and peace there is in knowing that God knows the future
and it is in His hands - I just pray that we may always be
sensitive to His Holy Spirit and want nothing more than
to be obedient to His call and I desire for all of us what I
pray for Sophia each night, and that is, that her greatest
desire in life is to do the will of God.
Now that Sophia's birthday is over she's excited about
Valentine's Day! She just told me that she is so happy that
God gave her us as her family! And that she 'Loves Jesus
soooooooo Much!' May we all love Jesus soooooo much -
just like a child! "I tell you the truth, unless you change
and become like little children, you will never enter the
kingdom of heaven". Matthew 18:3.
Love Denise & Sophia.

A Scripture for You!

"Therefore comfort (encourage) one another and build up one another, just as you are doing". Finally, brothers, rejoice, be made complete, comfort one another, be like minded, and the God of love and peace will be with you". I Thessalonians 4:11 and 2 Corinthians 13:11.

Blessings, pilgrim followers of Jesus - Arthur, Denise & Sophia Blessitt. Luke 18:1.

Keeping it Real ! How we lost spontaneity and how God has restored it

how spontaneity and suffering go together
Posted on February 4, 2011 by Brian Leslie Coatney
These 5 posts of Brian's on the subject of the spontaneous life are posted together here.

Look at the Garden of Eden, where Adam and Eve lived covered with glory day after day. God would walk in the garden in the cool of the day. There we find Adam, there we find Eve, and there we find the Lord. His clay pots are covered with the glory of the Lord, in Paradise, naming things, deciding things. Adam might get up in the morning and say, “What do we want to do today, Eve?” She says, “Let’s squeeze some fruits, make some nectar, and then name some more animals today. Let’s check on those flowers. Hey, I’ll race you!” “Yeah, whatever” he says.
They knew the presence of the Lord with them continually. Think of what it’s like when you get a moment or an hour or a day or a week of anointing—total ecstasy—and think what it would be like to never know anything else. Adam and Eve had never known anything but ecstasy. Imagine someone going to them in a time machine from the future, saying, “You don’t know the hell people are going to go through because of your choice (but it was our choice too Paul tells us in Romans 5).
You don’t know the ecstasy you live in.” They’d say, “Ecstasy? What ecstasy?” They didn’t know. Total anointing and covering and glory all the time were all they knew. What would we do to have that on an experiential level? We do have it, but with suffering too, for now.

Yes, even with suffering, now that the lie has been exposed and the Cross given to expunge it, it’s fun to know that I can drive on the spiritual Autobahn of life knowing His keeping. If He wants me to slow down, He’ll slow me down. If He wants me to go right, He will lead right. He keeps me from going into a ditch. I am a sheep, you know, and sheep aren’t smart. I don’t claim to be smart. I taught special education for a year on an emergency certificate. It’s not really my field, but I’m glad I did it, and I love the kids; but you know, we’re all special ed. to God. Even Einstein is special ed. to God. God could say to Albert, “Albert, you know a lot, but do you know what I know? I can name all the stars; can you?”

Back to suffering though, the devil hates our freedom and seeks to entice us to discontent like he did with Job. Job didn’t have a Romans 8 to interpret life by when the devil covertly introduced thoughts like this: “Do you really think that God has your best interests at heart? There’s something you don’t know about the Lord. He holds out on you. He builds you up (as the song goes) just to let you down.”

The enemy always thinks one way. Job almost fell
for it when he started to think, “Ah, I see, milk and honey and friendship with You, God, when all along You knew You were going to pull everything out from under me and shoot Your poison arrows into me, “You watcher of men” (7:20). You’re just watching for the right moment.” That’s what Job thought: “You’re just setting me up.”

Before I saw this ploy, I lived depressed and angry. Suffering defeated me. When I saw the goodness of God, even in suffering, I sprang to resurrection life. Problems do not go away, but faith leads us to see through them to know that God is meaning them for good, for us, and for others. We stop murmuring “Why me?” and get on with excitement about how God is using suffering to bring fruit.

I tell this to Bible studies, especially at the jail—well, not especially at the jail, for people there are no different than they are any place else, but their problems more obviously expose them. One inmate saw Mimi and me and said, “Are you doing church tonight?” I answered, “No, it’s not our night.” He replied, “We like it when y’all come.”

This reminded me of a story I heard thirty years ago in the Navy in a training curriculum about listening skills. A group of patients once told their psychiatrist, “Doctor we like you,” to which the doctor asked, “Why?” The patients said, “Because you’re just like us.” That explains why the people in the jail like me really; they realize I could wear orange. I did get arrested one time.

When people see glory in an ordinary person who has suffered like they have, they receive hope. The world isn’t made up of regular people and a few spiritual giants who have an innate edge over others in coping with life. As Mimi has said countless times, “Were all in the same boat.”

To see that is to arrive home.

how our first parents lost our spontaneity
Posted on February 5, 2011 by Brian Leslie Coatney
What a great party in Eden. Every party has its danger from a spoiler, and this one did too. In comes the serpent. The devil never really changes, does he? He’s going to convince Adam and Eve that they don’t really have things so good. He’s going to convince them that they don’t have the total truth. “You’re not knowers,” he will say. “Knowers? What’s a knower? Opposites? What are those? Well, there is something we can’t do, and we’ve wondered about that.”

“Oh, what might that be?”

“Well, who are you anyway?”

“I’m just a serpent—just one of the creatures here. Command me as you will; I’m just here to serve.”

“OK, we have wondered why there’s this tree we’re not supposed to eat of.”

“Well, you don’t know? You don’t know?”

“No, frankly we don’t.”

At this point, the devil doesn’t say, “You need to go back and ask.” The devil doesn’t want you to ask. He operates from, “Let me tell you,” stirring up a little discontent.

“Well you see, the Lord knows. You think He’s really got your best interests at heart; you think things are pretty good. But there’s something you don’t know about the Lord. He holds out on you.” The enemy always thinks one way.

So Adam and Eve think, ”Gee, it would be great to be like God. Wow, what’s all this about being a pot and He being we and everything expressing God: We wonder what it would be like to just be ourselves?”

Well, the devil liked that: “Yeah, that’s it; just be yourselves. Take control; be all you can be (in the worst sense).”

They went for it; we know the story. Some things, however, cannot change: a pot is always a pot—it’s made for one thing, to contain, and God made them to contain Him. Scientists say that nature abhors a vacuum. Therefore, once they turned away from the Lord as their glory, their covering, and their indweller, well, who was going to come into the pot? That pot could not sit empty could it? God did not make it to sit empty, and, therefore, it possesses no power to live in a self-operating or self-sustaining way.

So two things happen: Satan comes in to the pot, and then Satan hides the fact that he came into the pot. The devil fuels only one way of thinking: “You can do what you want to do. You are you, and you are you only. You must get your way regardless of whomever you have run over or barge through. Everything is all about you”—a total ME-consciousness!

That’s the loneliest, most anxious, fear-filled, lust-driven condition possible. After they fell, they experienced this. So what could Adam and Eve do to cover over their choice and get out of the terrible loneliness, fear, and dissatisfaction that filled them and began to drive them?

They turned to activity, meaning performance—anything that would mask or block out what now went on in their center, a terrible condition similar to what we find in the beginning of Genesis: a state without form—a void with chaos and darkness.

So what was God to do? Did He know the Fall would occur? Well of course. Had He already made a plan for when it happened? Yes, He had. Was He surprised—taken off guard? No, He wasn’t.

Did the Fall change His plan about having fun and living in pots as us? No, it didn’t. It meant, however, that the cost of bringing it about soared—through the roof—because the plan would need the Cross. But that was okay because that’s who He is anyway. He didn’t have to change and become the Cross. He already was; but He would now have to manifest the Cross in order to bring about the plan—the fun plan—for Him and for us.

A problem loomed, though, because these Satan-filled pots resisted the idea of anything being wrong with them. “Something wrong with me? No, no, it’s not me! I’m fine!” Never mind the turmoil boiling in a rage underneath such resistant protest.

How would God get across to these Satan-filled pots some inkling of their true condition? This I will examine in the next part, titled “how God restored our lost spontaneity.”

how God restored our lost spontaneity
Posted on February 6, 2011 by Brian Leslie Coatney

A problem loomed after the Fall because humans now resisted the idea of anything being wrong with them. “Something wrong with me? No, no, it’s not me! I’m fine!” How would God get across to Satan-filled pots some inkling of their true condition?

He had that planned already in a three-letter word: L-A-W. But law can never be preeminent, and so God gave the promise first, since He knew that law could never work. So before the law, He gave the promise, beginning with the promise to Adam and Eve of the messiah. He also gave promise to Abraham and the patriarchs; they knew about the promise. Because of the Fall, however, humans do not cling to God’s promises until finished with the idea of self improvement by law-keeping.

God, therefore, gives the Law. Mired up in deception at first, we think that He gives the Law so we will keep it. He gives the Law, and we think that we’ll keep all or some of it –at least enough to get a passing grade, or maybe He’ll grade on the curve. So here’s our conversation with God.

“Well, I know I didn’t get the laws all right.”

“Well, you didn’t even get 90 percent right.”

“Whuh, whuh,” we say.

“You didn’t even get 80 percent right.”

“Whuh, whuh.”

“You didn’t even get 70 percent: as a matter of fact, you didn’t even get any of it right! You just think you did!”

“Well that’s kinda harsh,” we think.

What conditions us, however, is the Law. Now, God never EVER thought we could keep that Law. He never thought we had a chance to keep that Law. He’s laughing His head off and has been continually over what non-Christians and Christians alike think about the Law.

He’s laughing, thinking, “They think they can keep it! They don’t. Pshaw. Let’s pour it on, commandment after commandment, even though they never seem to wear down. And to get them to admit that they broke it, ohmygosh, is to start a war!” But that’s really the way He went about to do it: He gave the Law.

This is how God convinces us of our need so that He can save us, so that He can have fun with the ones that believe. We battle the law, and God means us to because the law awakens us from our self-satisfied view of ourselves. Romans 5:20 shockingly says that The Law came in that the transgression might ¼ what? It came in that the transgression might increase—abound.

I say, “God will never tell you that you can keep the Law. He’ll give you the Law; He will command you to do it; but He will never tell you that you can do it.” If somebody’s telling you that you can do it, that person is deceived. Only two voices matter that speak about what we do with the law. God would never say, “You can keep it.” The devil will say, “You can.” So when Christians get on themselves or get on other people about trying to be like Christ, I’m sorry, who is it really talking?

When we can identify these speakers, we’re close. We can see why part of God’s plan, part of the fun plan, which He already knew from the beginning, included pulling sin out by the roots, and He already knew how He would get the devil out of the pot and put Himself in. So how would He do that? How would He get a pot that doesn’t sin, that will be a divine pot – that will be the second member of the Trinity in pot form?

He had to crucify the pot by making Christ become, on the Cross, the pot with the devil in it—which is you and I—Adam— the first Adam. This is why Paul says in 2 Cor. 5:21, “He made Him to be sin, who knew no sin.” He had to have a pot that would be who we were—fallen. He had to have someone who would be that pot—be the fallen pot. That’s who Christ was on the cross; He was the fallen pot: He was Adam and everyone born of Adam; that’s who He was on the Cross.

Christ poured out His precious blood for the forgiveness of sins. Crucifying the devil in the pot is what got the devil out of the pot, because God and the devil both want to live in a human body. Something fascinates any spirit about living in human flesh: God wants to do it; the devil wants to do it. Heaven wants to do it; hell wants to do it. It’s cool to be human. It’s all right! If God and the devil both want to occupy your body and live through you and be you, and yet you still know that you’re you, that speaks of an incredible plan.

It is an incredible plan. We get to be free sons again because of Christ’s total work on the Cross. Spontaneity is back in its right form. Yippee!

the theological core of our lost spontaneityPosted on February 7, 2011 by Brian Leslie Coatney

Let’s look at the past and what happened when our first parents lost our spontaneity. Romans 5:12-19 says that when Adam sinned, we sinned. The text doesn’t say that when Adam sinned we were affected by it. Rather, when Adam sinned, we sinned. How can it be that what he did, we did? That doesn’t seem fair, does it? We would like to say, “Well, he did that; I wasn’t there; I wouldn’t have done that!” Sure. But what he did, we did.

Think about this, though: the whole plan of salvation hangs on the Last Adam doing something that, when He did it, it was also we doing it: “I am crucified with Christ.” We didn’t hang on a cross 2,000 years ago, but Paul says, “I am crucified with Christ.” Therefore, when He died I did die. So what He did I did.

The reasoning in Romans 5 means that what Adam did we did—but then, much more, what Christ did we did. When Adam fell, we fell; when Christ was crucified, we were crucified. So in the Bible’s thinking, you don’t have to be born later and do a separate individual act to have done it. The person that you’re in is your utmost forefather—when he acted, you acted. And the new head of your family line—when He acted, you acted.

But we don’t know at first that the problem isn’t only sins—s-i-n-s—; the problem is also sin. In the book of Romans, Paul starts out—up to the middle of Chapter 5—dealing with sins and then turns his attention to sin, for sins are the products and sin is the producer. Both must get exposed.

Therefore, the thought behind Romans 5:20 is this: “In case you don’t know, in case you haven’t grasped God’s plan, He means—He means—for sin to abound.” Does He like sin? No. But He’s for sinning in this sense:”I am for people to sin as much as it takes to expose it: grasshoppers, rabbits, mountains of it, continents of it, oceans. Let there be sin and more sin.”

We can’t imagine God saying that. But if by no other means will we see the problem, then let the sin begin! Let it flood, because it’s already there anyway. Yes, it’s already there. What happens is that the ugly, humiliating exposure of sin starts to occur, but let it abound. God’s thought is, “Let them try. Let them try more. Let them try more.”

Thankfully, in case you’re hitting the panic button, where sin abounded, grace abounded all the more. Now, some would think—“ALL RIGHT! Yeah, sin! I kinda still like that sin. It’s still fun! All right! I’ve got a fresh gust in my sail for the sin-livin’ because of the grace aboundin’ in the sin-livin’! So get with the sin.”

The Lord hears this mentality and thinks, “You don’t really hate it yet. You don’t really hate it yet—more law,” like a doctor writes a prescription: “Hmmm, still loves sin? More law. More law. We’ll see who’s standing at the end. We’ll see who holds out the longest. You love sin? More law. More law. Where’s that prescription pad? More sheets. More sheets!”

Finally, after so much sinning, some say, “I’m weary of this, bone tired; who will deliver me?” At this point, the focus turns to the producer, for if I can’t stop producing sins, maybe there’s a producer behind them that needs shutting down. Indeed. And once we get to the producer level, the solution is easy.

The new birth is far more than accepting the forgiveness of sins, divine as that is: the new birth means that I accepted God’s gift of His freedom so that I could make a new and informed choice to be of the Last Adam instead of the first Adam.

Now I can see how it is that I am crucified with Christ and I no longer live.

the theological core of restored spontaneity
Posted on February 8, 2011 by Brian Leslie Coatney

I believed John 3:16 as a boy, and I knew about sins a little bit—s-i-n-s—plural—a little bit, but really not very much. I didn’t really worry about whether I sinned or not because, “I’ve got a Savior—so what if I do sin?” But as time goes by, this cavalier attitude about sin starts to weigh one down because sin gets pretty depressing. Self-for-self living is hell. Being angry and taking things out on other people, or abusing people and substances, or always being upset and in turmoil, or trying to get your way—even trying to get your Bible-way—is hell. It just frankly is depressing.

Depression has its good aspects. God uses it. A depressed person might find an invitation from the Holy Spirit attractive and consider deeper solutions offered in the scriptures. One might even say, “Yes, I need to think about this sin thing. I want more than a Savior to forgive my sins; I need deliverance from the inner toll of continuing in sins—the depression and deep frustration.”

But the problem mounts in typical fashion when the more one pursues this, the worse the self appears. One might even think, “I’m not anything like what this book says.” We didn’t know at first that the problem isn’t only sins—s-i-n-s—; the problem is also sin. In the book of Romans, Paul starts out—up to the middle of Chapter 5—dealing with sins and then turns his attention to sin, for sins are the products and sin is the producer. And wonderful as grace and forgiveness are, who wants to keep living a defeated life?

But listen to Paul: “Do you not know that you are dead to sin?” What? What? I remember reading Romans 6 when I was at the University of North Carolina—a pretty good school. I learned my calculus and my Shakespeare and my history and my Pericles. One day I read Romans 6 about being dead to sin, and I thought, “That can’t be right. That’s not right, because I can still sin; and if I can still sin, I’m not dead to sin.” I closed the book. Like I said, I was about twenty-two before life really got desperate for me.

What does Paul mean, “dead to sin?” We need to know what that means. He says, “Or do you not know?” Think back; if the problem originated with the devil getting into the pot, then the solution includes getting the devil out of the pot, right? Devil in—devil out. If he’s in there, God must get him out. Now we didn’t know that. We thought about law, commandments, particular sins—acts, deeds—all well and good. But as you know, when you cut down a plant, until you get the whole thing out, including the roots, everything grows back.

Therefore, to recapture the human body and us as persons, Christ, apart from doing any sin, becomes sin. Romans 6 tells this story. We won’t go verse by verse. Sylvia Pearce nicknamed this point “the body death of Christ.” So I call it “the body death of Christ.” It sounds good to me. But when she first started talking about “the body death of Christ,” I thought, “What is this ‘body death of Christ?’

What is the significance of the body? Body? What about the body?” Then I saw that this is what the Bible says, what Norman says, and what Sylvia’s teaching emphasizes—”the body death of Christ.” Dan Stone used to say that the wine in the communion is for our sins, but people don’t know what the bread is for. Here’s the answer!

The mystery behind the bread starts with the devil in the pot on the cross and ends with Christ in us. But if you go up to somebody in your church and say, “We just had communion today; you just had the bread: do you know that was the devil in the pot on the cross? —2 Cor. 5:21—’He was made to be sin,’” the listener might freak out. Talking about things like that can cause some horrified looks in your direction.

Frankly, I feel depressed sometimes around other Christians, but I once lived the same way they do—trying. But once you get out of that, you want to say, “Brother, brother, let me tell you that life doesn’t have to be that hard.” God’s plan is really pretty simple. Self-improvement is the big lie. The self doesn’t need to improve; it needs to die and get resurrected as a new creature in which Christ Himself does the living as us.

So when the body of Christ died, the devil lost a body to live in. Christ’s body went into the ground. Now we’re dead to sin,

but what else are we dead to if the body stays in the ground? We’re dead to everything: a dead body won’t sin, but a dead body doesn’t live either.

Death cuts us off from the sin spirit alright, but for us to live as Christ’s body in His resurrection, we must know that we rose with Him in His resurrection. Forty days later came the ascension. I’m secretly taking flying lessons myself. If that power can raise me from the grave, that power can teach me to fly too. And we’re already seated in the heavenlies, we learn in Ephesians 1. So if we’re up that high, life on earth is plenty of suffering, with its mortality; but more than that, life is spontaneous praise at how God keeps us from sin and manifests His heavenly life in our mortal bodies.

Prophetic Word for 2011 - Mark Stibbe

Who is Mark Stibbe? Well he's proof that a ministry can flourish, blossom, grow up through and ultimately out of an Anglican Ministry. Sharing a room at college with his best buddy UK evangelist J.John, he went on to front the amazing Chorleywood Church that employed the likes of Barry Kissell, way back during our Amersham school revival in 72. An orphan himself, in recent years he has been leading the Church out of an orphan mentality into the very Fatherhood of God. From Orphans to Heirs is a bestseller. 2 years ago he left Chorleywood to establish Father's House Trust. This (and this is me talking) has a dual aspect to its Intercession. On the ground, it involves establishing real world orphanages all over the world, but in the Spirit this is all paving a bridgehead into the epidemic of Fatherlessness in the world system....and probably the church too. Like Lydia Prince who was involved in a similar work in Jerusalem, the intercession works at two interlinked levels, opening future doors. This indeed is the hallmark of all 3rd level callings.

THE TRUTH WILL OUT- Prophetic Word for 2011

Fri 21st January, 1.01pm Mark Stibbe

One year ago many people in the UK were watching the reality TV show, Celebrity Big Brother. This isn’t a programme I particularly like nor is it one that I ever recommend but at that time something interesting was going on. The film star Stephen Baldwin (a committed Christian) was carrying his Bible around the house and conducting Bible studies for those who wanted to come along. He caused a lot of controversy but he also stimulated a degree of spiritual hunger in at least one of the Big Brother contestants. When actress Stephanie Beacham was interviewed on her own in the diary room she was asked whether she would miss Baldwin if he was evicted. Suddenly she broke down in tears. When asked why she was crying she replied that it wasn’t because she would miss Baldwin. It was because she would really miss the Bible. Between sobs and the surprised admission ‘I’m not acting’, she concluded by asking for the privilege of looking after the Bible when Baldwin left the house.

On the first Sunday of January 2011 I went to preach at Kingsgate Community Church in Peterborough (the church which Chris Moyles has praised so highly on Radio One). The leader of the church, Dave Smith, was running a three-part series on the Bible – ‘The Book that Changed the Planet’ – and invited me to give the first of these talks. As I was preaching, I became aware of a very strong anointing as I spoke about treasuring the truth of God’s Word. I became unusually animated and extremely passionate about the issue of Truth – so much so in fact that it surprised me. I quoted the Big Brother TV programme and made the comment that people outside the church are weeping over the Bible. I urged my listeners and indeed myself to go to a whole new level of honouring the Word of God and proclaiming the timeless truth of the Bible.

If you ask me what I think is on the Father’s heart for 2011 I think a lot has to do with the issue of truth. I’m sure that most of us are aware that this year is the 400th anniversary of the publication of the King James Version of the Bible. Radio 4 has been running some superb programmes on this great masterpiece and there has been a lot of discussion about its merits in the national Press. It seems that this is a moment in our nation’s history when people are really searching for some lasting landmarks in the unstable, shifting landscape of our times. Maybe people are becoming sick of the shallow relativism of our secular and humanistic culture. Maybe people are beginning to seek for some fixed points in a changing and turbulent universe.

In the Book of Nehemiah chapter 8, there’s a wonderful moment when the city walls have been rebuilt in Jerusalem and the people gather before their leaders. Ezra brings the scrolls of the Old Testament Book of the Law and the Levites begin to read and explain its beautiful truths. As this happens, the sound of weeping breaks out throughout the crowd as the people realise how much they love and have missed these words. As verse 9 says, ‘all the people had been weeping as they listened to the words of the Law’.

We are living in a very critical time in the UK – a time of great unrest and profound anxiety. This seems likely to increase in 2011 as Britain is gripped by storms, floods, water shortages, strikes, power cuts, unemployment and even unusual natural phenomena such as earthquakes. As everything is shaken around us, there will be a real longing for anchors that connect people with a deeper and more solid reality. The deepest and most lasting reality of all is the Father’s love and the Bible is our Father’s book; it is the only book that reveals his relentless love.

Recently I wrote The 100 Verse Bible, a small book that tells the story of the Bible from Genesis to Revelation. It was commissioned to be published this year in honour of the 400th anniversary of the publication of the King James Bible. In it I choose 100 verses that confirm the statement made by St Augustine: ‘if the entire Bible could be summed up in a single sentence, then it would cry out like the resounding waves of the sea, “The Father loves you”’.

I have never seen any of my books sell like this one. Thousands are flying off the shelves. We are hearing remarkable stories of non Christians reading it on underground trains and in pubs and classrooms and being deeply affected by its message. It seems that the truth of the Word is uncontainable. The church can’t keep it within its walls any longer. The Father wants his truth on the streets. He wants to pour out the Spirit and out his Truth back on the map. As Jesus promised his disciples in John 14:15-17: "If you love me, you will obey what I command. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counsellor to be with you forever- the Spirit of truth”.

I therefore have a strong sense that the Spirit of Truth is coming. Many churches have emphasized experience but neglected Truth. I believe this is a year when the Holy Spirit is going to bring experience and Truth together. It is a year in which many churches are going to communicate the Father’s truth in a clearer voice.

And that brings me to another thing that I sense the Father is saying about 2011. I believe this season is a season for breaking out of the church – for kicking out the walls. But - let me be very clear - I’m not talking about rebelling or about leaving church! I’m simply saying this is not a time for staying in the house and sitting passively at religious meetings. There is a breaker anointing upon many believers for this year and there will be a stunning fulfilment of Micah 2.13, ‘One who breaks open the way will go up before them; they will break through the gate and go out. Their king will pass through before them, the LORD at their head."

As this breakout occurs, there are two things I feel will characterize it. First of all, there will be a ‘revolution of kindness’; people will carry the Truth to those outside the church but they will do so with grace. Jesus was full of ‘grace and truth’ (John 1.14). Too often we have tried to communicate Truth without Grace. This is not the way of Jesus. Jesus spoke truth in a grace-saturated way. Those who are filled with the Spirit of Truth in this season will have a heightened capacity for speaking the wisdom of the Word in a way that is merciful, tender, loving and kind. They will see time and time again that it is the kindness of God that leads to repentance (Romans 2.4).

The second thing I believe we will see is a release of the artists. The people that will be given an extra grace for proclaiming the truth way will be the storytellers, screenplay writers, actors, composers, singers, painters and poets – among many others. They will be the ones who are inspired and mobilised to take the Father’s Truth to the lost and they will do this in dynamic, unconventional, entrepreneurial and adventurous ways that break the traditional, religious moulds.

Just before Christmas, there was a YouTube clip doing the rounds on Facebook. In fact, it went viral. It showed a choir of people in a shopping mall in the UK. They had situated themselves all over the food hall and at a carefully orchestrated moment they all began to sing the Hallelujah Chorus to the crowds of Christmas shoppers. These spectators at first looked startled, then delighted, and finally moved by these exceptional voices. It was wonderful to see the words of the Bible brought to so many non-church goers in such an ‘out of the box way’. This was truth being communicated by artists. It was truth communicated with grace – indeed, unlike their lunches, the concert was free.

And so I return to where I began. This is a turbulent season, no doubt, but this is also a time when the Spirit of Truth is on the move. More and more will come to say;

"Your statutes are wonderful; therefore I obey them. The unfolding of your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple. I open my mouth and pant, longing for your commands. Turn to me and have mercy on me, as you always do to those who love your name. Direct my footsteps according to your word; let no sin rule over me. Redeem me from the oppression of men, that I may obey your precepts. Make your face shine upon your servant and teach me your decrees. Streams of tears flow from my eyes, for your law is not obeyed..."

Psalm 119.129-136

A year ago, there was weeping over the Word on Celebrity Big Brother. In the same month, I took my family to see a movie at our local cinema – a movie starring Denzel Washington called The Book of Eli, which worldwide grossed over $150 million. The film (directed by the Hughes brothers) portrays an apocalyptic landscape thirty years after the devastation of nuclear war. Denzel Washington is on a mission. He has the last remaining copy of the King James Version of the Bible which he is guarding. He has also memorised every word from Genesis to Revelation in case the book gets lost or stolen. For Eli, this book is worth cherishing and preserving. It is in fact a book worth dying for.

So, what we have here is a mainstream blockbuster about the Bible?! Something is truly going on.

Truth is being restored to the church and a longing for the Truth is stirring in the world. As Jesus said in John 8.32,

‘You will know the truth and the truth will set you free’.

An Interview with the author Grace Bridges

The Christian scroll,(see LHS link) reviews books. Here is the current post : An Interview with Grace Bridges

Grace Bridges is an author of two sci-fi fiction books: Faith Awakened and Legendary Space Pilgrims. She resides in New Zealand - where she keeps herself busy with running an independent publishing group and designing websites. She's currently working on a new book by the title of CyberDublin.

*Note* Read rules before entering giveaway, please! =)

Welcome, Grace
You’re from New Zealand! This is where Lord of the Rings was filmed, right? What is it like to live on such a picturesque island?

I love it! In fact New Zealand is made up of hundreds of islands, many very small, and most people live on the two biggest ones. Looking out from my desk I can see five of them: two are volcanoes, another is quite well inhabited and serves as a city suburb with a fast ferry connection, and the rest are isolated forest and farmland. I find the water very inspiring so I am blessed to have it so close.

When and how did you know that writing was for you? Did it arrive in a flash or was it slow in coming?

I suppose it always was, in a way. As a homeschool kid aged nine, I was given a prompt and asked to write a short story. I got rather carried away and proceeded to create a whole series of unlikely adventures off that one prompt “Zebra” which I somehow contrived to twist into a science fiction tale. Yup - science fiction even then.

You run an independent publishing company by the name of Splashdown Books. Can you tell us how that got started?

Dabbling in self-publishing years ago provided the means to learn all about the technical side of publishing. And there is a lot to learn! Once I knew how it worked, I decided to put that knowledge to work for others also, connecting avid readers with stories they’d never get to see otherwise.

Your newest book, Legendary Space Pilgrims, has an allegorical and sci-fi flavor. It reminds me of Pilgrim’s Progress by John Bunyan. Did this book have a play in the inspiration for it? Is that why it’s an allegory?

Actually that aspect came up later in the writing of it. The original inspiration was a vivid dream which covered Part 1 of the book up to their escape from the first planet. After that was when the idea arose to make it a pilgrimage through seven planets that echo the seven days of creation.

What was the hardest thing about writing Legendary Space Pilgrims?

There were times when the process of writing had become so arduous and torturous that each word was like blood from a stone. Yet, in an attempt to prove the “bum-glue” theory, I forced onwards. It wasn’t pretty, at least in my mind. I don’t think the story was particularly stuck at those points, but I was dealing with the discipline required to write something of this length in one year—something I’d never done before. My first book was a good deal shorter AND it took seven years to write.

You are currently working on Independence Monday – which continues the story from the first one. Could you reveal a snippet of it with our readers?

Can we skip this question? :P I actually haven’t started it, due to other projects—starting a third series, and continuing my first, which are both unrelated to this story.

Have any tips to share that are always helpful for you in writing?

Keep it fun! If you get stuck, change something and go a different direction, focus on a different character for a while. I did finish Pilgrims under pressure—from myself, mind you—and I don’t think I’d do it that way again. It doesn’t make much difference to the end result, but you have to love writing to do it—the point of the journey is to be enjoyable.

Randomly Fun Questions:

Many fictional characters in books leave an impression on us. Which of these stand out to you and why?

My favourite would have to be Stephen Lawhead’s Taliesin in the book of the same name, a fairytale prince of the ancient Welsh who could sing a miracle into existence. Then there’s Frank Creed’s Calamity Kid in Flashpoint - a height-challenged hard-nosed cyberspiritual warrior, just plain too cool.

Are you an early bird or a night owl? Oh, night owl, all the way. I feel much better staying up half the night to finish a project than trying to get up and do it early.

Let’s talk trekkie to trekkie. Favorite Star Trek (The Original Series, The Next Generation, Deep Space Nine, Voyager, or Enterprise), character, and episode?

As a series I have to say Voyager, because I appreciate the character arcs that were so strongly developed over the whole series. My favourite characters are Guinan and Captain Janeway. Episode? That’s tough. I really like the Voyager two-parter “Scorpion”, pretty much any of the time travel ones, and movies number 5 and 8 along with the 2009 rehash which was awesome. Oh, it’s all good...

Stretched but not Snapping and Can we walk without a Ceiling?

Stretched but not snapping

You shall make them princes in all the earth. NASV
Psalm 45:16Instead of thy fathers are thy sons, Thou dost appoint them for princes in all the earth. Youngs Literal Translation

Rob Rufus- Glory and Grace Conference- transcribed by Dan Bowen

I love the varieties of God and the diversities of God. It is amazing how the religious spirit would love us to just be prophetic people or just teaching people or just apostolic people or just evangelistic people or just one-style or one-way of worshiping people. It is amazing how quickly we fall into personal preferences and we do not like it when our particular preference is manifested. I really believe that all of us are in the situation where none of us are completely comfortable with every style and expression and manifestation of ministry in the kingdom.

It is a very healthy thing to admit you are not comfortable because all of us are being stretched in these days - not to snap - but to understand the multi-faceted rainbow of God's wisdom that is to be expressed to the powers and authorities through the church.

I believe those powers and authorities are not evil ones but they are the angelic hosts glorifying God in what the church is doing on the earth. I really believe God wants us to break out and to different expressions. There is an older generation like me (I hate to admit that!) but we are older and we have particular histories and we like that and make no apology for our history.

I come out of four major moves of God on our planet in my lifetime. Four major moves - and I have learned so much from those four major moves - the good things and the bad things. I hold it all dear and treasure them because there is eternal revelation in those moves of God.

Then there is a younger generation coming through that I am literally wide-eyed with wonder and learning from them almost daily - but weekly and they have whole new insights and have come from a completely different angle than I have come from and I am learning.

It is not accommodating and tolerating them - but we literally have to find grace to celebrate these different expressions otherwise the church becomes stereotyped and we become little clones or puppets of our religious culture and sub-culture and the conditioning of our history. Every day we need to find fresh faith for new discoveries.

I believe exactly what God is calling us to a uniqueness and each of us to really be ourselves and utterly original. Original, unique realities are inside each of us! Many of us don't realise how much uniqueness is in us!

We often take the definition of who we are from other people's perspectives. We let other people define us! ...................................whole transcript here

Can we walk without a ceiling?
by Chris Welch,Facebook note on Thursday, 03 February 2011 at 15:04. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z1rcFGsvKQ8

This video contains a lot of the tenets I walk by. It explains my attitude to the local church and the world church. It ends by giving a brief overview of what the Lord Jesus Christ shared with me in one of those rare visitations we seem to have in our lifetime. For me this took place in public on a small aircraft flying back from France for Dales Bible Week. The two weeks previous to this I was living in another dimension . The point of mentioning all this, is not for you to say either ooooh Chris, trying to be special again....or the converse....I could never experience those things. No, I am saying an unequivocal You SHALL experience those things and more! If you hang around God's purposes.

Waiting on God Opens Life in another dimension.

Little realised by most folk, the 30 years Jesus experienced with little other than his birth and some twelve year old experiences reported.....

were Jesus time of waiting on God. Being established in His God identity. They weren't wasted years. They would have been active years. But they were secret years. Francois Du Toit has described Qavah...(south Africans spell it differently)waiting on God, as strands of a rope being intertwined. It's us being hid in God.

Qavah- a description

The moment you start hanging your hat on the unseen God realm, in our totally sense based, and driven life in the world system, you are going to cause ructions. Those ructions and the personal effects on your life will be devastating. But here's the good news. The messes you get yourself into cause such an internal cry, that you literally start to yank more of heaven from the internal Now to be manifested in your being. God delivers. He delivers internally first, then externally. Time and time again, you will suddenly get this internal assurance first....long before your senses catch up....that everything is OK. God is in the frame. He comes as a Peace which completely overtakes/passes/is over and above your understanding. Then little by little the natural world puts itself together round you, like a meek doggy, falling perhaps grudgingly into line.

The problem with you now being OK again, is that this sets up a fresh set of conundrums for those sense based individuals round them. Norman Grubb calls this living as a burning bush, that never gets burnt up. Rich and Linda Novek should be long burnt up by now....but here they are still writing on Facebook.

So the people around are cornered. They either submit to God and believe that something more is happening, or they deliberately pretend what just happened couldn't have, and enter into denial. Once in denial, your cheery face which keeps reappearing makes them even more angry....because now they are in the frame too....they have declared you in the wrong, and by your continued cheery existence you are proving them "wronger still".

Now each mess you live through, until those around you either change, or are taken away....

Remember the verses "one shall be taken , the other left?" This is not a one time end time event....this is the continuous cycle of the Christian life!!!!!....so each mess you live through....only to set up another series of messes,

because you still refuse to tow the secular world's line....

each mess represents another bit of entwining, tucking yourself in God.

A person who has lived decades like this, nolonger has a clue about which bit is Him and which bit is the Lord. It becomes increasingly difficult to in any way describe your biography to anyone, save by the gift of utterance in the Holy Spirit. If you try, your words fall like treacle all down your face and right to the floor!!!

Qavah is a Life to be lived...not a prayer closet

Qavah begins by hearing by faith

You hear in your spirit what the Living Christ is telling you to do. As you take faith steps to obey, you are launched onto this life of Qavah. It makes no sense to most around you....even Christians. Only later, as you are gifted in the Spirit to share, and it becomes real food to others, does it start making sense to anyone.....including yourself.

If you think about it....gym membership makes no sense either. Running on running machines and getting nowhere. Lifting weights for no purpose. Going to all that effort for no visible fruit at the end of a session is all about training your body for some other end than immediate purpose. But a few months down the line, you're looking trimmer, with firmer muscles.

The wilderness years for the Israeliites were meaningless for anyone apart from them. Not one thing remains from this 40 year period. Archaologists cannot find anything. Some conclude it never happened. But this period was all about training a people in the Word of faith. It was a Qavah period for a whole people!

I actually believe these last 40 years have been a Qavah period for the Church. And while all the existing leaders hunker down for the long term, I really believe a lot of what exists now is purely gym membership. So leave the leaders and their gyms to get on with it.....they love to be top dog....well they can be top dog in their empty gyms,

Let the people of God awake to this new LAND-TAKING walk that God has got us on. Beginning first of all with "our seeing" in the things of every day life.

If you watch the above video, and in particular the aircraft vision , you will see there were 3 phases. The first phase was about checking through the systems.

The Holy Spirit has been doing a Name of God course. Revealing the Names of God in turn. Revealing Spirit principles in turn. Revealing the faith walk through the Word of Faith movement.

Now all of these individual revelations, YOU can make a little bread loaf out of....one of the 12 placed neatly and evanly round the Table of Shewbread in the Holy Place. You can make a GOD out of each of these. If you do the rest of the Body notices that you are walking with a strange lopsided gait!!!

These "systems checks"...which all the tribes were called to do in the last 40 years....were not for isolated enjoyment. They were manageable obedience tasks so that now as we approach the 3rd Level....the Holiest Place level....

everything can be shared out with all....for everyone's blessing and the empowering of the whole Body. This then makes 1 Corinthians 12 and reciving the foot if we are a hand, or an eye if we are an ear.....A WHOLE TON more important than it has ever been before. You see now......

WE ARE ABOUT TO FLY

Can we walk without a ceiling?

Back to the walking analogy.

Can we walk with no other ceiling save the Overshadowing Holy Spirit? Or will we like the Israelites continually crave a king!

Any last remaining worldly thinking in us DEMANDS a KING.....DEMANDS a PYRAMID.And then a new movement forms, which must of necessity die, for it was built around one portion of Manna....and manna only keeps for a day.

The QAVAH walk has no human ceiling. Has no pyramid. It is not comfortable.

But it is a walk of incredible power.

My little foretaste in France began with a faith journey when God said...yes you can go to France to study French during the holidays but I forbid you from going the official route of students....you must write to a lively church. So I did. And the reply was negative. That was November. It wasn't until halfway through the holidays the following August that out of the blue someone phoned who used to be in that church , but was now on the North Coast....He said "When can you come? Tomorrow? And so began probably the most incredible two weeks in my life , in which normal laws of human existence hardly seemed to apply at all. When I arrived, the very first breakfast, God used me to heal the mother of lifelong epilepsy while fitting in front of me.....and things just went on from there.

What Really happened down in the Chilean Mine

Jose the Chilian miner I met and prayed for amen.

note on Facebook by Elaine Waterfield on Wednesday, 02 February 2011 at 23:35.

This last Tuesday I went with some good friends to Cheltenham to hear Jose Henriques give testimony of Gods grace and mercy and miraculous power at his rescue and 32 other Chilean miners trapped in a shaft for 69 days, 720 metres underground.

Jose explained that the 32 other miners were in complete despair as to how they would get out of the mine and felt that all was lost. The men talked amongst themselves and were very aware that even though they weren’t men of faith that the only way out would be by the hand of God. Knowing that Jose was a man of God they appointed him to pray to God. Jose said he would but they all had to pray to a living God not a dead one. During this time God spoke to Jose and told him that they would all survive and to call them altogether. This encouraged Jose as in the other accidents he was involved in other miners had died and were badly injured and so this is what he did he called all the miners together.

As time went by the men would form a circle and each one would take turns to pray with in the circle, with many men getting on their hands and knees and as they got into the presence of God having simple Bible studies and fellowship God healed one man who was injured with a spinal injury and people began to be healed emotionally.

Some miners began to panic as time went past and began to write wills and contemplated death but Jose soon stopped this as it was a negative attitude that could see them all give up and die. Why they were all of one accord and of the same democratic mindset sharing a faith and praying for many hours at a time for Gods mercy and also praising God.

They had very little food and each man had a half teaspoon of tuna fish which they out in their water to make it into soup which was more filling, but during this time they had so little food and air it was quite desperate conditions.

In the meantime the president and his cabinet gathered together to pray, school children began to pray and churches
gathered together and prayed it brought the whole country together in one accord praying to God for their rescue, whilst it gripped not only this nation but in fact the whole world were praying as it were around the world.

The first attempt to drill a tunnel to where they were trapped failed as it was no where near where the miners were. This was obviously going to cause anxiety and despair amongst the miners but they continued to praise and worship God and pray.

However a few weeks later when things were at a crucial and difficult state of emergency, the drill was placed as near to where they thought the miners were and as it entered deep into the ground it hit a rock and veered off slightly and success it was the hand of God that found them. Everyone was ecstatic as the world and Chile heard the first words of the 33 miners “ we are all alive and well,” Jose was able to speak to his wife the first time in 67 days, His words were “ this is the longest shift I have ever been on,”

Andre and engineer who was the brains behind the rescue said “ in the drilling process things happened that held no logic with engineering ,” despite no being a man of faith he attributed all of this to energy generated through prayer and good will.

Jose knew that before he and the other miners came back to the surface they had to hold a prayer meeting and thanks God as they the hand of God was upon them. Before this accident happened only 5 men had faith and now 22 had given their lives to Christ underground. All 33 came to the surface one by one wearing T –shirts proclaiming “thank you Lord “in both Spanish and English in a capsule praising God for what he had done. No man could have saved them 4 million people round the world witnessed a miracle and Gods handy work,

Jeremiah 33 v 3 says “if you call upon my name I will hear you and show you some amazing things,” This also was a call to the church to come together in unity and pray and be in one accord.

The president was so in awe that he called for a time of praise and prayer .The President commented that “the unity, the faith, the compromise, the honesty, the solidarity of the Chileans in those 69 days makes us very proud”.

After the talk I went up and prayed for Jose and Chaplain to the president of Chile who were going to see President of America Barack Obama with their presentation. What and honouras friends asked me to go and what a privalidge to pray for them it was awesome

Two Facebook Notes on Shepherds - Chris Welch

Ezekiel 34....Shepherds Today
by Chris Welch on Monday, 24 January 2011 at 15:22

1 And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying , 2 Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel, prophesy , and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD unto the shepherds ; Woe be to the shepherds of Israel that do feed themselves! should not the shepherds feed the flocks?

This is a bit Steve McVey. Nothing wrong in that though.

I think we are clear that the outer context of this passage has changed. It has changed since I was a Christian in a Baptist Church too. But the demon spirit lives on, and operates in current situations.

Let's specify the obvious sort of things Watchman Nee, followed by Norman Grubb would have said.

The Christian Life is about my death and resurrection in Christ, 2000 years ago. The New Covenant is not a set of even more stringent laws for those who found the Old Covenant Laws boring. The New Covenant is about our total inability to keep those laws, and in our despair to realise that God has thought of all this ahead of time, and

plunged us into His death, then bound us up with Himself in a resurrection exactly like unto His. If we call upon the Name of the Lord we will be saved. But this "savedness" is nothing like you hear preached in most churches. It's HUUUUUGE. It has connected you with the centre of everything big time...GOD HIMSELF and the central plans for this Earth. It is now nolonger you that live, but Christ who lives within you.

The ministry gifts are placed into the Body of Christ to implant this message into you. You may say, well, I've just read it. But God's words are Spirit and Life, and when transmitted either directly to you from Himself, or via Holy Spirit gifted servants, they will change your life completely from the inside out. Jesus said in John 4, from now on it is about worship in Spirit and Truth. if it's not true and real for you yet, you need just to hang around the Body of Christ a bit.

I feel challenged about this whole pastor/shepherd area.

There are naturally caring people around. They are nurturers. It is natural for them to gather people around them, make sure they are OK. This is not the Holy Spirit gifting of pastor. It may use some of these aspects. But any ministry in the Spirit does the above work: getting people to see WHO they are in Christ....that it is Christ in them as them, and how the faith life operates.

When I see sheep wandering.....I don't care if they are supposedly in a particular church, under this mythical delusion of a pastor pyramid....I just "see" the wandering and like Jesus looking over Jerusalem, grieve.

verse 6 My sheep wandered through all the mountains, and upon every high hill: yea, my flock was scattered upon all the face of the earth, and none did search or seek after them.

So Ezekiel 34 in our current context is sheep wandering around lost, uncared for, whether "outwardly" they are in a great stadium church, or here in a good church like Havant.

People who have had Christ implanted in them properly do not wander. They have definition. Purpose. Strength. God's vision. They are properly knit into the Spirit-built Body of Christ......and not necessarily, as the Apostolic Network Pyramids used to preach....knit into some outward structure that everyone can stand back and marvel at , saying "Wow, this Terry Virgo fella builds great networks....or this Gerald Coates geeza sure makes trendy housechurches with disco lights an' all!." Outwardly, a lot of times it could be a mess. Like Jesus' operation during the Cross weekend. Or the first church at Jerusalem, when the Jews blasted it to smithereens. Now in the Spirit, this was always bang on cue. This is the genuine church being formed in different outward manifestations.

Makes no sense to someone who thinks in bricks and mortar and Pastor pyramids.

A shepherd gets Christ into folk, then moves on to fresh folk....or whatever else Christ is doing through him or her.

Verse 2 above is disturbing and the demon spirit lives on.

This is an "office " of shepherd. Paid. Actually paid well. You can't take the analogy too far, because I don't think any shepherds are actually doing a Hannibal Lecter, and eating the people.

The abuses of the Anglican church were so clear, that the1800s Brethren denomination reacted totally and forbade paid ministry. Everyone held down a job. It was making law, what St Paul did voluntarily to give him complete freedom to work unfunded in new areas.

Are we there again?

Paid ministry , like the unscriptural positioning of ONE pastor over a Body of people is self-perpetuating, in the same way that we all employ people in Brussels to frame new laws, then complain at the amount of laws.

Like that's what we paid them to do, dummies!!!! So they don't shirk their work and frame laws!!!!

Pastors have to think what they do next to justify being paid. They also cannot allow for any other ministries alongside, because some Pyramid apostle has installed them at the head of a local pyramid, and to do anything else would be disrespectful!!!!

You have not so learned Christ!

True pastors

There are pastors all over the place in the Body of Christ.

Most of them shut out from operating. Thankfully the Spirit of the Lord is now speaking Ezekiel 34 all over the Earth, getting us to wait upon Him for the wineskins of the church. A church, every church, raised up in the Spirit has loads of pastors, who pastor naturally. UK history is littered with abuse of power according to this scripture.

For example let's name a place. The King's Church High Wycombe shut down Mr Cain, who in turn was more or less forced to set up the independant church Shalom. Shame on you King's Church.

The King's Church High Wycombe shut down a beautiful house group of quite a size under Mr Ron Knight. Many were so bruised they never attended church again. If any of you know me, then you know Ron. Ron never built around himself, he built us into Jesus. If any of you consider me to know anything in Jesus, know that I was privileged to be squeezed into Ron's life during my teenage. And it was he, 40 years ago that was teaching us about Christ in me. Everyone else was teaching about "things that you do" to grow. He was teaching WHO we believe , in order to grow. So once agin King's Church, shame on you. And as I have never been connected with you, I say quite impartially, I hope this goes into all the world about you. Now deal with God about it.

True pastors have the Spirit blueprint of the building - in their heart

Psalm 85:

5 How blessed is the man whose (H)strength is in You,

In whose heart are the (I)highways to Zion!

6Passing through the valley of [a]Baca they make it a spring;

The (J)early rain also covers it with blessings.

Compare verse 6 above with Ezekiel 34: 26 And I will make them and the places round about my hill a blessing; and I will cause the shower to come down in his season; there shall be showers of blessing. 27 And the tree of the field shall yield her fruit, and the earth shall yield her increase, and they shall be safe in their land, and shall know that I am the LORD, when I have broken the bands of their yoke, and delivered them out of the hand of those that served themselves of them.

Ezekiel 34 :4 says ......neither have ye sought that which was lost ; but with force and with cruelty have ye ruled them.

The situation i recently found myself in where leaders tried to step in to correct a rift was handled so badly it caused me to really listen to the Spirit to see what was going on.

While it was going on the leaders did not contact us, keep us in the picture. The friend who still gets depression quite badly could have topped herself....we just did not know. You can read my findings here:

http://080808onnowto.blogspot.com/2010/11/ocd-church-believing-yourself-into.html

So in this situation it wasn't that NOTHING was being done

it was that a person's life was being addressed by committee

without direct heart contact in it all.

This then opened my eys to the whole operation.

Shepherds are shepherds from the heart. But not just compassion for people. That's just a common human trait, strongest in the caring folk among us. Shepherds have an internal map of the Kingdom in their heart.

They don't preach the New Testament as if its just a fresh lawbook....something grittier to get your teeth into. The WORD they impart, which is the New Covenant Word of Christ living His life as us is so powerful

that over time we see a Romans 8 kind of result....a bit of "all creation waiting until the sons come into their own" and we see a small part of creation turn around.

The Fake law gospel doesn't turn any keys in the lock. There is no outside mirror effect. When the Word happens, when true shepherds flow, the end result is showers of blessing....trees of fruitfulness. All these centuries Israel has not blossomed. When the Jews returned, there was a turnabout naturally. I know this is only a start.

When the community at Darmstadt showed me around, I gazed at some redeemed features. This is only a start.

We can't fake that bit.

Also we can't fake when sheep are meandering all over the place in depression and sickness....this cannot be covered over, or explained away.....this is the result of Ezekiel 34 poor shepherding. The demon spirit of torment lives on.

It's time to be defined church. Accept no lower standards.

Abraham had to go thru the Hagar incident to be fully clear on the child of promise.Other Christians have wanted to pray for my" hurt", but I think it's just the pain of learning the True from the false. It offends other believers....but I think this mountain bounding hind life of Christ is offensive.....it's so bloomin free it shouldn't be allowed in a world system of devil control!!!! Shepherding-Three Spirit definitions

.by Chris Welch on Saturday, 29 January 2011 at 12:32.In a comment to Paul Anderson Walsh who is looking into shepherding as we see it now:

The three principles laid into me on shepherding are:

1. it's some sort of supernatural outworking of this scripture in Isaiah32:1-2.Behold, a (A)king (Jesus and not some sort of network pyramid apostle or pope) will reign righteously

...And princes will rule justly.2 Each will be like a (B)refuge from the wind And a shelter from the storm,......

And it ain't someone dividing a church into lists of 12 names and calling them housegroups!!!!

2. It's Joseph, the surrogate Dad of Jesus, who takes all the flack but it never is HIS Son

3.Jesus Words some are born eunuchs, some become eunuchs, some make themselves eunuchs for the sake of the Kingdom of God. Again a eunuch takes care of the Bride....but there's no question of "false reproduction en route." A denomination is where there is "false reproduction en route" Something other than just Christ is reproducing at the same time like a virus, that clings to the work of God to make it impotent.

Brian Mirte Longridge wow, love this, thank you Chris, especially the part "refuge from the wind and a shelter from the storm" in the midst of such chaos and brokenness, a place where people should want to flock to where they do not feel used, abused, manipulated and can learn to trust again and truly live.......
