His REST! (the obedience of faith) By Rich Novek

I was recently blown away when I read the following from Norman Grubb, who also happens to be one of my favorite authors:

"Then, being bold in defining exactly what are the things we are presently desiring in place of the mountain confronting us, and naming them, we speak the key word of the countdown - we press the button marked, "SAY." We do that from our inner spirit-center, simply by our authority as sons of God. Jesus has plainly told us to act as God by "the faith of God" - by His inner believing imparted to us, by our inner union of mind and understanding. This means that in acting as He, all of His mighty resources are at our disposal. It is not now a matter of us being at His disposal, but of Him being at our disposal. He is operating in this present world-system by us. We say with Caleb, "Let us go up at once and possess it, for we are well able to overcome it." (Numbers 13:30)

And in so doing, we laugh the laugh of faith." (Norman Grubb, Yes I Am, chapter 38)


What blew me away was this sentence; "It is not now a matter of us being at His disposal, but of HIM BEING AT OUR DISPOSAL. He is operating in this present world-system BY US."

Did I read that right, He is at our disposal?

Then I thought about how Norman parallels the Trinity, and makes a comparison to how we operate as humans. He parallels the "Thought" stage with the "Father", the "Word" stage with the "Son", and the "DEED" stage with the "Spirit!" THOUGHT, WORD, and DEED. (Work)......FATHER, SON, and SPIRIT. (Worker)

If the FATHER is the original THOUGHT, the Son is the original SPOKEN WORD, and the Spirit is the original WORKER, or THE ONE who brings substance (POWER) to the SPOKEN WORD, than what Norman stated earlier can be life changing if we can truly grasp it's meaning!

Please bear with me, because this gets really exciting!

When we started out on this journey, we were falsely taught that we needed to become LIKE JESUS..., in other words we were told to work hard, and work hard we did! We set out determined to be like Jesus as much as we all knew how! We never stopped to consider that our working in our own stength was really disobedience. There is after all only ONE obedience, it is called the obedience of faith! So God continued to deal with us in that ignorant place of disobedience until we were fully spent and we finally came to our senses. Does this sound familiar?

But the damage had already been done at that point, and working was all we knew! It was all about our trying to be good and godly Christian's! Just like Paul, we learned to be "ULTIMATE DO-ER'S!"

"What anyone else dares to boast about--I am speaking as a fool--I also dare to boast about." (II Cor 11:21)

Remember Paul's long list of accomplishments? Paul was an ULTIMATE DO-ER! But it was at some point in Paul's journey something traumatic happened, and he did a complete 180. He who was the Ultimate Do-er is also the same one who said, "What is more, I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have suffered the loss of all things. I consider them rubbish, that I may gain Christ" And in another place; "For I am the least of the apostles, and not fit to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God." (Philippians 3:8)

What could cause this "Ultimate Do-er" to undergo such a dramatic transformation?

We know about his Romans 7 struggle, and revelation, and of course his wonderful Romans 8 proclamation; "Therefore there is no condemnation to those who are IN CHRIST, for the law of the SPIRIT OF LIFE set me free from the law of sin and death!" (Romans 8:1-2)

Spirit of Life? Who set Paul free? The Spirit, right?

Now let's go back to what Norman said in YES I AM. He said in another passage in the same book; that the Spirit was the ONE who brought substance to the Word, or what he called The DEED or ACTION." The Father was THOUGHT, The Son was WORD, and the Spirit was DEED (or Action), remember? "The critical moment of any action, whether by the Three-in-One, or by man made in His likeness, is the speaking of the decisive word: attitude (or thought) (Father) moves into word (Son) and action (Spirit). That is why we say that a word puts a person in action." (Norman Grubb YES I AM, chapter 38)

I used to think I was the worker until God let all my working bring me to utter exhaustion! I then agreed with God that Christ was living "IN" me according to Galatians 2:20, but remember, I worked for all those years, and being the WORKER was what had become my identity.

Identity is everything!

Down through the years I have undergone several identity transformations, and so have you, no doubt. I started drinking and using drugs in my teens because I was in a "teen age" identity crisis. Partying than became my identity, until I went through rehab in 1981. It was then I met my first wife and got saved, Christianity was my new identity. I got married, had kids, and worked hard to be the best Christian I could be! At that time, being a married, hard working Christian father was my identity. I then lost everything... my possessions, my family, almost my life, and went through yet another identity transformation! All of those ups and downs of life opened my eyes to my ONLY TRUE IDENTITY! Which is seeing Christ...AS MY IDENTITY!

I don't have to worry about ever having another identity crisis, because...HE IS MY ONLY IDENTITY, HE IS MY ONLY LIFE!

If in SEEING this wonderful discovery, we have learned HE IS THE ONLY TRUE WORKER...than what part do we play?

This is where it gets really exciting!

"There is a REST for the people of God." (Heb 4:9)

The problem is, we don't understand or even realize the real implications for refusing to enter into this wonderful place, this place of HIS REST that He Himself has prepared for His people to enter in by faith! In fact, if we saw the REAL VALUE OF HIS REST, we would be like the rich man who willingly sold all he had!

If His Spirit is the TRUE WORKER, and if we have not yet ceased from my own works, than there's no one who has entered HIS REST! But hold on, didn't Norman say the Spirit was the DEED, or the substance of things hoped for?

I recently declared myself a PERMANENT RESIDENT of His marvelous REST! What does that mean? It means, no matter how this kingdom of darkness (this land of appearances) presents itself, I no longer have to try and work out anything in my own strength. Where I used to just visit HIS REST and live in turmoil, I now SEE MYSELF "IN" HIS REST... BY FAITH!

I NOW SEE HIM (The Spirit) AS THE ONLY TRUE WORKER!

If this is true, and it is BY FAITH, than what God wants us to see here can be life changing!

Let's take a look at a couple of examples of scripture, beginning with the time Jesus was awakened from His sleep (RESTING IN THE FATHER) in the middle of a HURRICANE!

We know Jesus was fast asleep, but where was the Spirit? The Spirit (as the Worker) was at Rest, waiting on Jesus Spoken Word! He was waiting to add substance to His command for the benefit of those watching! The Spirit (as the Worker) was the (ONLY) Worker there! Jesus (who is THE LIVING WORD) spoke, and The Spirit was sent out to perform exactly what He was sent out to do! And we know what happened, instantly the raging storm ceased to exist, and the water was like glass!

"For it is (The Spirit) God who is working "IN" you, both to will and to do of His good pleasure." (Phil 2:13)

"All of us who are mature should take such a view of things. And if on some point you think differently, that too (The Spirit) God will (work to) make clear to you." ( Phil 3:15)

"But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will (also be the one who wills and works to) give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you. (Romans 8:11)

Here is one other example:

When Jesus was baptized and the Spirit landed on Him in the form of a dove, what happened to the Dove (The symbol of The Spirit)? He found His REST "IN" The Son! That is, until the Spoken Word summoned Him to take Action or go to Work! This is how all of Jesus miracles gained their substance (POWER) and were manifested for all the people to see! ONLY by the WORK OF THE WORKER, (the Spirit)! And why? Because the SON WAS AT REST "IN" HIS FATHER!

Now let's bring this closer to home.

If the Spirit was working when Christ was at Rest, what is He doing when we are at Rest?

I hope you are ready, because this is what really blew me away!

He is standing by waiting to add the needed substance to OUR SPOKEN WORD! Because... "AS HE IS, SO ARE WE IN THE WORLD! (I John 4:17)

And He is requiring us to ENTER IN BY FAITH so that...He can get to work in fullfilling the desire of our heart we so desire! "What things soever ye [not He] desire…, ye shall have." (Mark 11:24)

But if we are not TRULY RESTING FROM YOUR WORK, He will be RESTING FROM HIS... that is until we do! There MUST BE SOMEBODY WHO ENTERS INTO ...HIS REST!

"Since therefore it remains that SOME MUST ENTER IN, and those to whom it was first preached did not enter because of disobedience" (Hebrews 4:6)

So who is it going to be that enters into His Rest? Is it going to be us or the WORKER (Spirit), whose sole purpose is to SERVE the Body by working to bring substance to our Word of faith! And to every single "whosoever" that is "IN" HIS REST!

He (The Spirit) is our Servant, He is our Worker! He would much rather SEE US AT REST, so that...He can do the willing and working "IN" and through us, the work we desire to see being done!

In order to be FIRST in our lives, He has willingly become the Last (Servant and Worker) for His... RESTING BRIDE! The Groom's (Christ) Servant (The Spirit) is at the Bride's beckon call! Is that as amazing to you as it is to me? I am blown away, as this is worth a lifetime of "light and momentary afflictions", this weight of GLORY which God longs to reveal to His hurting body! (I Corinthians 4:17)

All so His precious one's, those who are striving to enter HIS REST by faith could all share in this wonderful revelation, this revelation of the Spirit that He longs for everyone to see! This life changing revelation of Him as The Willing, Waiting, and Serving WORKER!

Think about it, The Spirit has willingly become our Servant, and sits by patiently waiting for us to cease from our works, just so he can Work his Work in Us, which is to bring His substance (POWER) to OUR Spoken Word! And in just the same way as He has been doing since the beginning, when the Spirit of Christ, gave the earth it's form and it's substance by the Spoken WORD OF THE SON, THE ONE ETERNAL THOUGHT... of our Loving Heavenly Father! He (The Spirit) is the ONE who is at work, bringing that same form and substance to OUR SPOKEN WORD... AS WE ENTER INTO...HIS REST!

Cheryl Lowry Rich..I enjoyed reading your "Wow" moment of truth. It is invigorating to read a fresh revelation. It reminded me of when Christ was leaving he said, I will not leave you comfortless..meaning he was sending the Spirit to abide in us....as our worker (so to speak). It is true when we work he rest until we realize we are trying to do something He (Spirit) is suppose to do. Awesome..thanks for posting!

Chris Welch There is after all only ONE obedience, it is called the obedience of faith! You know what this week's been about don't you....it's catching all the areas in our own lives and those who surround us - particularly those born of God but "bewit...ched"....and addressing those strongholds of unbelief. Satisfied with what Jesus? Satisfied about whose mission they were on. Satisfied about Union of being. Satisfied about the obedience of the glance in Psalm 123. Then what happened Jesus. Chris Welch Rich did you get the thing about the "works" that are described in the parable. I think it's similar to your recent discoveries in James.
The first time we read about the servants first in the field, then at table, everyone thinks according to a "works" kind of faithfulness. Among the Free Believer's "cleaning the toilets" has become a standing joke. What began as something genuine to do with people humbling themselves cleaning loos, has now become a Tree of knowledge of good and evil staple for testing out if someone should go into ministry.As many of us have proved in the early 80s, you can spend years cleaning loos as some kind of Trials of Ulysses test....but it is "service" with agenda....a symbiotic warped relationship between Pyramid pastor and "willingly submitted " flock. But Jesus demands obedience of faith....to His Word. Both His general Word and the specific secret things spoken by the Holy Spirit personally to each one.


We don't clean loos for an agenda....we clean loos because they are there, and because we're in love with ALL OUR EQUAL brethren.....some of whom are more pastoral in character, some who serve, some who radiate cheerfulness,some who "see", some who teach. I suppose when you see some of the divas on X Factor, you think, they need to clean some loos!

But our "service" is one where the FAITH OF THE SON OF GOD is growing within us. The idea in Ephesians is that the first chapters we listen and "get" by revelation WHO we are. This is our foundation. Then we take that foundation into every part of our lives. We "believe" in family situations, work situations,civil authority situations until we are skilled at seeing no man after the flesh. Until the world can nolonger "hook" us up in some unspoken relationship. This is no small thing. As you and Linda are now experiencing.

My friend James Hughes had everything falling around his neck at the time a millionaire American TV producer offered him 3 or 4 million dollars for the rights to his Christian film. The Holy Spirit HE SAY NO! Ouch.....
That's why , when God releases this film, it's going to be something else!

Cinderella is NOT a fairy tale.
I repeat the story of Cinderella is a documentary. It is a documentary of how Spirit life works. It comes straight from the parable I related.
There are always some ugly sisters, with all the power. There is always a Cinderella who is serving WITHOUT agenda, who out of nowhere is plucked up, and made to sit with princes. Jesus has eternally done that with each of us. But the story keeps manifesting in real time also.

I bet each one of you know patterns of this in your life. And because you have the same Spirit that moves this way I can freely relate one example. As I said on my blog.....in 15 years of Christianity, including when God used me to set off a revival in my school by preaching, (so from 1972 - 85) only once did organisational Christianity ask me to preach.God bypassed this completely. My personal life at the time was a wreck. But He snatched me out of Bible House for 6 weeks to visit my parents in Kenya, who were helping the President set up a quality AFRICAN school with science studies.Next thing I know the President and the headmaster were asking me to preach into the school.

These sort of tales are STAPLE if we stick with this life of "OBEDIENCE OF FAITH"....."OBEDIENCE TO WHAT WE CANNOT SEE YET."

Rich Novek At the Adult level of maturity you can no longer SEE the LIVING WORD according to dead letter theology!

" All of us who are mature?" (Phil 3:15)

Just as an infant cannot SEE what an adult sees, when we move into maturity "IN" HIm, we are ...required to SEE ALL THINGS with ADULT eyes!

Spiritual Adults always SEE with a "SINGLE EYE!" (Mathew 6:22-23)

So the old ways and means have to be put out to pasture because... NOW IN SEEING GOD ONLY any scripture or reference having to do with works (Faith without works is dead) no longer fits the mold of us as doing those works...apart from Him!

"Do not call to mind the former things or ponder things of the past! I will do something NEW, NOW IT WILL SPRING FORTH!" (Isaiah 43:19)

For He alone is the TRUE WORKER! The Spirit (Action) who adds the much needed subtance (POWER) to the LIVING WORD, the WORD which proceeds out of our mouths...ALL FOR OTHERS! (Hebrews 11:1, John 1:14, Deut 8:3)

This is the level where Christ lived His life! The level of UNCONDITIONAL LOVE which Norman calls "self for others!"

And because HE SEES HIS FATHER "IN" ALL THINGS AS HIS LIFE...He has NEVER taken even one thought for HIS OWN SELF PRESERVATION!See more

Chris Welch : Nope,still don't think you're picking it up.You're hearing what I'm not saying and I think you've got a block on what Jesus was meaning here,which is strange as you've got a handle on James.
What better way to unpick what Jesus was saying than observe how He trained the disciples.
They had a background of Judaism, so He didn't have to start from pagan scratch. So He sent them more or less straight "into the field".He got them to proclaim the Kingdom is among you and they received a limited impartation to go with it to impart healings and miracles. The obedience of faith. Not cleaning loos or putting out chairs.
Then He set to work on how they "saw" things. As self for self items arose He presented the Truth to them.It got tougher and tougher to serve Him and be around Him,like being in a pan of water as it heats up.They had to remain steady in their seeing and not to harden their hearts or get offended....as the demands went up and up.By the time of their Master being crucified before them......(Similar in type but much more gruesome than Elisha having to stick by Elijah right to the point of him being taken up,with all the sons of the prophets saying "Go home,this is not for you")
It all got too much....
But Jesus like a Master at table had taken his servants to "the end of themselves"
At which point He makes breakfast for them on the beach,and begins to prepare them for a life where they speak the Word, and He as you say backs them up,or serves them.
This parable of Jesus and the servants in the field needs completely rewriting in people's minds to take it right out of "the obedience of works" into the obedience of faith. Or hanging in there with our new "seeing". Until the Master is ready!See more

6And (G)the Lord said, "If you had faith like (H)a mustard seed, you would say to this (I)mulberry tree, 'Be uprooted and be planted in the sea'; and it would obey you.

7"Which of you, having a slave plowing or tending sheep, will say to him when he has come in from the field, 'Come immediately and sit down to eat'?

8"But will he not say to him, '(J)Prepare something for me to eat, and properly clothe yourself and serve me while I eat and drink; and afterward you may eat and drink'?

9"He does not thank the slave because he did the things which were commanded, does he?

10"So you too, when you do all the things which are commanded you, say, 'We are unworthy slaves; we have done only that which we ought to have done.'"

The Two Goats Message: Effects - so far.....



Today I had a further revelation about my life. There are stamps upon every single life. Core reflections of their being, their purpose, their innate character. These are mirrored in external events that keep repeating. After a while we don't fight, we just understand when we see these repeated traits. I say this to make it absolutely clear that what is true for me, will be different but equally unique in your life. My friend Elaine Waterfield keeps seeing rainbows....more than average....and birds of paradise.

I have mentioned before that my style is to take a long time, then shoot ahead.
I didn't walk, but sat, then crawled for 1 1/2 years. Then, in an airport lounge stood up suddenly and ran. I never walked.
In 12 years of methodism plus one year outside Christianity, I was never a Christian. I was never born again. (In my intellectual brain I may have reasoned I was, but this was not true)When I got born again at 13, like so many of our generation I was baptised in the Spirit more or less immediately.
When I was baptised in the Spirit, everyone surrounding me in the upper room rattled off in tongues immediately. probably, because of left-brain constipation...or intellectual analysis of everything I did not for one month....but THAT day eventually I was given the key of faith.They said you have asked, now believe that you HAVE received and start thanking God.Almost immediately the release of the Spirit came. But straight after I was given a faith step of obedience that "seemed " totally out of control. In the rather quiet middle class suburban estate of Great Kingshill ,Bucks God spoke so clearly...because He knew it was so key for my life.He said "Shout hallelujah at the TOP of your voice...the loudest possible" A second wave of God's fire came crashing on me. Like a Toronto anointing 22 years early, I was almost paralysedly drunk.They had to support me down the stairs. With this fire, I set off a small revival in our school by preaching in class and school assembly. Out of 120 boys in our year, one summer's lunchtime I counted 80 of these boys out on the grass...not playing football...but in a school with strong 1970s atheistic leanings.....studying the Bible together. It was crazy.
There is a spiritual pattern here that continues in meetings today.But it happens naturally also.

When my voice broke it took ages, but when it did I dropped 2 octaves overnight and my mum didn't know who was in the house.
In "church " settings I was never asked to preach. Apart from one occasion in France, the first time I was asked to preach was 13 years later by the President of Kenya during a stay with my science teacher parents on one of his schools.
I never married until I was 40. The lady I married had three daughters. The two eldest had children pretty soon afterwards. So I became a Dad to my own son and a kind of grandad to the others....all at once.

Are you getting the picture? Unlike your gorgeous looking Darin Hufford's and Joseph Prince's I have never been invited to lead a group in an organised church setting. The first thing people on here assume is that Daniel Yordy, Rich Novek and I are pastors. Nobody will touch us with a bargepole. But true to form in my case...I am not becoming a pastor....God is instead confirming an apostolic calling through this Two Goats Word. It is an apostolic Key for the church everywhere. It is not a theory or an idea. It is written with God's pen on my insides and similar things are on my net friend's insides. Outside the circus of 1st and 2nd level organised church, I have been a pastor for years....of ones and twos, and at Exeter University (1977-8)a leader of an entire group of us. My present and only wife was one of those. I chuck that in , just to say God has given me some experience. I see ministry like Paul. It is our ability to reproduce Jesus in other people. By ability I mean the Spirit has fully birthed this Jesus capacity in us to reproduce after "His own kind". I look at most pastors and see the limited capacities that Christine and I both had when we were 13.....that is when we brought people to the Cross and afterwards they were baptised in the Spirit. After that, like most pastors we hadn't the foggiest, but just believed God would help us grow people. With next to no firm blueprint in ourselves, it was ofcourse daft to think we knew what we were doing. This is where most of the church world finds itself as it jumps on the latest "organisational growth fads".

The thing I saw today was this. When I was born in Ghana, I took in food, but I had a blocked stomach (pyloric stenosis). After 2 weeks I weighed less than when born. My mum was desperate. She made some sort of bargain about my life with God. I was flown back to Great Ormonds Street and they saved my life.

Now , all over the world, the church has preached a "one goat" message of forgiveness. We eat the "food" of salvation, but it is never digested properly. There is a blockage. People are even baptised in the Spirit with mighty giftings....but because the 2nd goat, the scapegoat foundation was never laid in the Spirit, we have a lot of ministry "goats" racing around reproducing goat like rebelliousness, pyramids,greed,avarice, dirtiness in the Name of Christ. But ofcourse it is NOT in the NAME of Christ and it confuses the whole world. The Word needs properly to be eaten. "Unless you eat my flesh and drink My Blood you have not life in yourselves." In revelation it talks of the Word being sweet to the taste, but in our stomachs it becomes bitter....as it processes to BECOME US.

Dying to "SELF?"

Chris Welch just wrote an article titled “TWO GOATS: Period.”

In his article Chris expounds on the fact that we have literally left out 50% of the gospel message! The one goat for the sacrifice of sins, but what about the other goat?

“When WAS the last sermon you heard on the 2 GOATS? So what I'm saying is…one was to take sins away, and one was to take SIN away.

“WE HAVE ALL BOUGHT ENTRANCE TO A CHRISTIANITY THAT ONLY HAS ONE GOAT.”

And the crazy thing, we were all let in!!!!!!!” (Chris Welch)

I love Chris! He has a way of showing us the REALITY of what is, by taking us back to the original temple, sacrifices, etc. He then adds to his biblical knowledge, the different things he has himself learned and experienced, in gatherings and movements over the course of His Life!

Evalee Bird just tagged me on her latest note: “Faith in the work of God.” In her note she explains the fact it is not in our believing, but it is HIS FATH ALONE which saves and keeps us!

The Spirit is always revealing, which is why we call it revelation! The book, by the way is Revelation, not Revelations! Revelations is plural and implies more than one! GOD IS ONE! And there has ONLY been ONE REVELATION! The revelation of the sacrificial Lamb for all mankind! The supreme efficacy of the blood which has cleansed us from every sin! Because of His Blood we have a bold entry way into His presence, and without any condemnation!

But the blood, as wonderful as it is, still leaves us…ONE GOAT SHORT!

"My people have committed two sins: They have forsaken me, the spring of living water, and have dug their own cisterns, broken cisterns that cannot hold water.” (Jeremiah 2:13)

“For the word of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the POWER OF GOD.” (I Corinthians 1:18)

If you have never read anything by Watchman Nee you need to read his wonderful exposition on Romans 6-8, The Normal Christian Life! And he is right, not only because he shows us the importance of how the blood has cleansed us from our sins, but just as important, he is careful not to leave out the other half of the GOOD NEWS! Our deliverance from SIN! The man of lawlessness who formerly occupied the place where Now ONLY the Spirit lives in His fullness “IN” US!

They have forsaken ME! They have not forsaken the bible, or bible studies, or programs, or the spiritual gifts, they have just left me out of ALL OF IT! And in place of me they have made for themselves cisterns, and these cisterns are broken and hold nothing but vanity, they have no REAL value! They are empty!

For the WORD OF THE CROSS is foolishness?

“In the beginning was the WORD, and the WORD was with God, and the WORD WAS GOD! He was with God in the beginning. Through Him all things were made; without Him nothing was made that has been made. “IN” Him was Life, and that Life was the light of all mankind. His light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” (John 1:1-5)

What was God? Does it say the WORD WAS GOD? Read on…….

“The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world. He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the WORLD DID NOT RECOGNIZE HIM. He came to that which WAS HIS OWN, BUT…HIS OWN DID NOT RECIEVE HIM! Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God— children born NOT BORN OF NATURAL descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but BORN OF GOD! (John 1:9-13)

The Word BECAME FLESH…and made his dwelling among us. We have seen HIS glory, the glory of the ONE AND ONLY SON, WHO CAME FROM THE FATHER…FULL OF GRACE AND TRUTH.” (John 1:14)

Contrary to what most believe, the WORD IS NOT THE BIBLE! The Bible is God’s chosen tool to bring us the REVELATION OF THE WORD……..THE ONLY WORD…The LIVING Word who became Flesh and dwelt among us! The Word in who’s glory we beheld! His name is Jesus Christ!

The people of God today are so busy trying to have a relationship with the “letter that kills”, that they have forsaken the TRUE WORD! THE ONLY LIVING WORD!

The church today has become the “foolishness” mentioned in the above passage in I Corinthians! Why? Because they have idolized the book while discounting the Person of the book! Without the preaching of the Cross there is no LIFE! There is NO POWER! The preaching of the Cross opens up the opportunity to move beyond this kingdom of darkness, this land of appearances! The preaching of the Cross IS THE ONLY POWER OF GOD! But instead, they have made cisterns, cisterns which hold no water! Why is that? Why don’t they hold water? Could it be because they have forsaken the FOUNTAIN OF LIVING WATER, WHO IS THE PERSON OF JESUS CHRIST! And have exchanged Him…for it!

The preaching of the Bible, the spiritual gifts, or how to better mange your money doesn’t cost anything, but just start preaching the Cross, and more than that, preach ONLY the Cross!

Because when and if you do you there is one guarantee! That is… God will turn upside down and inside out everything you previously called your life or have put your trust in! Begin preaching “To Live is Christ and to die is gain”, or “For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified.”

If you want ALL HE IS He will demand ALL YOU ARE!

It is an impossibility to preach the cross without the cross bringing everything you trust in to the same cross you are preaching! It’s much easier and acceptable to preach about God than it is to allow Him to make us fit for the Master’s use! Because when and if you decide to get serious about your Christianity, you will find God will require ONLY ONE THING! Every-thing! Until all that’s left is HIM! It’s a lot simpler to adhere to the world and the way it operates, and through ignorance, make yourself an enemy of the cross, than it is to embrace the cross!

I can’t die to myself anymore than Jesus could crucify Himself! I AM DEAD! This is the second goat! For YOU HAVE DIED and your life is hidden with Christ “IN” God!

DYING TO SELF?

The only thing we really hear from the church concerning the cross is when people start talking about dying to themselves! This in itself is absolutely impossible! I can’t die to myself anymore than Jesus could crucify Himself! I AM DEAD! This is the second goat! For YOU HAVE DIED and your life is hidden with Christ “IN” God!

How then does one know when he has truly DIED TO SELF?

“It's easy to think of dying to self in terms of what we do or don't do. Since childhood, we've been taught to focus on our actions. We gained our parent's approval if we behaved a certain way. As adults, we have success in life if we perform in a certain manner.

When it comes to spiritual performance, however, no matter how hard we try, no matter how long we go at it, we are never quite satisfied with our efforts. There's always one more thing that needs to be taken care of. It becomes an endless struggle to do and to become.

Thankfully, as believers, dying to self is not something we have to attain to. We died to self on the cross with Jesus Christ. ''You have died and your life is hid with Christ in God.'' It's something that has already happened. We express God's glorious self-for-others nature 24/7.” (Alex P. Cohen)

“Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For YOU HAVE DIED, and your life is now hidden with Christ “IN” God. When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.” (Colossians 3:1-4)

When He died, we died, and when He was buried, so were we! And when He was raised “IN” POWER, we were as well!

The preaching of the Cross is foolishness to those who are perishing! Paul is not talking to people who don’t already know God, he is in fact talking to the church! He is saying, “if you think for one minute you can accept the benefits of the shed blood without realizing it was that that same blood that purchased you, then you are a fool! And the fool has said in his heart, there is NO GOD!

The fool hath said in his heart, there is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good. (Psalm 53:1)

In our seeing ourselves “IN” Christ, we are able to SEE this UNSEEN KINGDOM! Until we SEE our death, burial, and resurrection “IN” Him, we have no choice but to settle for the status quo of what is considered Normal Christianity! And Normal Christianity today is a far cry from what Watchman Nee wrote about in his book! Normal Christianity today is a focus on externals, and a consciousness of “Jesus for me!” This view of Christianity is what Norman Grubb calls “infant Christianity!”

Paul talks about it in Hebrews;

“In fact, though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you the ELEMENTARY truths of God's word all over again. You need milk, not solid food!” (Hebrews 5:12)

Paul is saying, “Hey guys, by now you should be completing your Masters degree, but you are still stuck in elementary school! It’s time to grow up, move beyond the milk of seeing ONLY religious externals, and eat of His body and drink of His Blood!”

So Jesus said to them, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, YOU HAVE NO LIFE “IN” YOU. (John 6:53)

There might be an appearance of life, but it cannot be TRUE LIFE without the ONLY ONE who is Life, living and moving and having His being “IN” US! (Acts 17:28)

Jesus Christ died for us, but we died “IN” Him! Now we are the vessels or conduits of His life! It is impossible to continue to serve the “elementary version” of Christ, while serving and SEEING GOD ONLY!

I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the FAITH OF THE SON OF GOD, who loved me, and gave himself for me. (Galatians 2:20)

I said earlier you cannot serve two different versions of Christ! Well, in the exact same way you cannot serve and worship two versions of faith!

The ONLY faith God SEES IS THE FAITH “OF” HIS SON! We have no faith, we will never have any faith, and we were never meant to have our own faith!

In embracing the Cross, we allow God to bring to death everything we are trusting in! He takes all that that we thought we had faith in and shows us we have no faith! It is in this process of Him bringing us to the end of our resources we realize the ONLY ONE WHO CAN LIVE THE CHRISTIAN LIFE IS CHRIST HIMSELF! We also learn that we were created to house or contain God and that is all!

Paul learned this secret;

“I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want.” (Philippians 4:12)

Paul learned through all of his doing…and Paul was the ultimate do-er, the ONLY TRUE do-er was the Holy Spirit! He learned through the foolishness of the cross that when he was weak, the Spirit “IN” Him was his ONLY strength! He learned of the mystery, hidden for ages and past generations, which IS CHRIST “IN” YOU!

“I have become its servant by the commission God gave me to present to you the WORD OF GOD IN ITS FULLNESS— the mystery that has been kept hidden for ages and generations, but…IS NOW DISCLOSED to the Lord’s people. To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is CHRIST “IN” YOU, the hope of glory. (Colossians 1:25-27)

Paul refused to believe in a Cross-less Christianity! He said it was a FULL GOSPEL! Through this FULL GOSPEL message Paul learned of a God he had never known, even though he was an expert in the law!

It is no different today! There are still way too many Saul’s out there walking around, who believe they are preaching LIFE AND TRUTH! But like Paul, they need to knocked to the ground…in order to see their own spiritual blindness! I know I had to be!

Thank God for men and women like Chris, Evalee, and others like them who have seen Christ and Him ONLY as their ONLY LIFE!

Thank God for the complete message! The message which provides the sufficiency of the blood, while revealing to us the supremacy of the Cross!

"Of him are ye in Christ Jesus." The Lord God Himself has put us “IN” Christ, and in His dealing with Christ God has dealt with the whole race. Our destiny is bound up with His. What He has gone through we have gone through, for to be ”IN” Christ is to have been identified with Him in both His death and resurrection. He was crucified: then what about us? Must we ask God to crucify us? Never! When Christ was crucified we were crucified; and His crucifixion is past, therefore ours cannot be future. I challenge you to find one text in the New Testament telling us that our crucifixion is in the future. All the references to it are in the Greek aorist, which is the `once-for-all' tense, the `eternally past' tense. (See: Romans 6:6; Galations 2:20; 5:24; 6:14). And just as no man could ever commit suicide by crucifixion, for it were a physical impossibility to do so, so also, in spiritual terms, God does not require us to crucify ourselves. We were crucified when He was crucified, for God put us there “IN” Him. That we have died “IN” Christ is not merely a doctrinal position, it is an ETERNAL FACT! I don't know if any of you caught what just happened this week.
If you can imagine the book of Nehemiah when as they were rebuilding Jerusalem the challenge of legitimacy went against them. The building work stopped.
For 20-40 years it has been known by individuals who have crashed and burned themselves that the Christ as us message was the next Spirit foundation to be laid in the wider church. But the cry of legitimacy has been raised against Gods builders and nothing has really happened that has advanced the people of God apart from numerically the world over since the step changes of the 60s and 70s.
The 2 goats key is the legitimacy we now have to say to a Church that is now so bad that thousands are leaving each week in something like the Free Believers Network
Style," this is what is wrong with your gospel! One of your goats is still running free and running our churches! I come in the Name of Jesus and lay the missing foundation that Watchman Nee knew something of through Jessie Penn Lewis,but was further clarified through Norman Grubb who himself "caught it" from Penn Lewis.
So rather like the Israelites 11 days in the Wilderness becoming a rather terminal 40 years, had Penn Lewis and Evan Roberts ever been allowed back into the Welsh Revival with the updated properly accurate 2 goats gospel we'd have been 100 years further on and Darin Hufford would have been less upset. Brethren this is huge!

appreciate what you said re scapegoat and will look at blog re the details you mentioned - but what i really mean is this:your exact wording at the retreat, just 1 sentence, was what exploded inside me with tears shooting as HEEEEEEEEEEEE in a split second showed me the document with His final STAMP of CANCELLATION TO DO WITH GREAT PAST DARKNESS in my past life.I saw HIS INSIGNIA IN THE SEALING WAX YOU SEE, MAKING AN END OF IT WITH TOTAL FINALITY. That's what I saw.All that had been RAGING against me for decades simply EVAPORATED [you know, no substance in darkness?]. And it happened as you opened your mouth . . .

You see I was powerless when 'these things' happened. The pattern in the end was 3 months depression, three months reprival.then the reprival times got shorter and I speeded up my rebuke to myself that i now MUST get my bravery act together and end it NOW. thought of myriad ways - oh the nightmare of it to have your mind speculate and meditate on suicide - WHERE IS THE ABUNDANT LIFE i asked but long since i had seen of course that it wasnt Him not giving life. It was me in the grip of . . something so evil and determined to KILL ME.You do know what i'm talking about can i suppose?






So you must understand my GREAT AND ABSOLUTE FREEDOM now that i soar in His wonderful arms with His wonderful mind and in His absolute provision. I feel .. ITS TOO OVERWHELMING TO EVEN TRY TO FIND THE WORDS. i just loooooove every second of life, i sleep very few hours and His glorious love is in me and over me and through me. I did dream of this, that this could be life in the most ordinary looking way to others when they looked . . . i learned off by heart and did say to Him over the decades , this . . . Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ. He makes our lives a constant pageant, a brilliant spectacle . . and through us diffuses the fragrance of His Knowledge IN EVERY PLACE. i must sound I sound so dramatic - such a drama queen would you say? xxx

Rosie this is sooooo encouraging. I only saw the 2 goat thing around the time of the oast house.I knew the truth behind it....but for years I've been looking for proof that we can preach Christ as us in our form FROM the word go with new Christians. And this is it.I am now certain this is what Paul meant by a laying a foundation of grace in truth.....and why he could then go round his churches sniffing for the scent of Christ crucified.I was, and still am really concerned that if we jump straight into the message of the Mirror which is a laver message, it cannot be quite true, until the first foundation is properly laid in the Spirit. For we deal not with concepts, but with Spirit actualities. From now on what you will impart, is the same, because it is true in you.....but the Enemy will try to make you backtrack and preach a "softer gospel". Like the man in the Temple precinct we say to all...."I dunno the ins and outs, but one thing i know, I was born blind, but now I see." " I was locked in depression, but now I'm not." Or whatever whatever. And it is THIS GOSPEL that puts the cat among the pigeons. Because it throws into stark relief all the others who ARE STILL SECRETLY BOUND and are not telling!

more sure of this that this amazing One who adores us so , has done for
moi, than anything else in my life. it is THEEEEEEEEEEEEE rescue of my

since 1974 and earlier.Even before I knew Him, I knew Him in another
way, without knowing it was him. I was, as it were kind of being and
talking and acting His language without knowing it. and I think He
links arms sometimes with an 'unbeliever' in ways that makes you dance
to a tune that he is calling - and you dont even know it - EXCEPT
you're inspired and driven forward at the sound of that tune - if
you get my meaning?? and everything in my life is just slotting into
place in minutae [spelling please?] of detail like nothing I have ever
known of but always hoped for

at a point i so completely GAVE UP EVERY EVERY DREAM I EVER DREAMED and
now that i have given them up [and not a long time has elapsed sicne i
'gave up' the dreams] its all coming to me, in abundance , and over and
above what i ever dreamed was possible. i am so overcome sometimes. its
hard to say on paper or email.

like you do a slow motion replay. "Now....what exactly happened there?"

Do you know that is why the first tabernacle was set up in such detail
under Moses? It was God saying...."You know when the Release comes
it's only going to be 3 days long, tucked on some obscure hillside
outside the city walls. So I'm going to set up a type and shadow which
is like a freeze frame of all the things that are going to happen
before the
event
itself....so you've got hundreds of years to familiarize yourself.When
it
happens its going to be so fast, it'll be over in a blink of an eye."

And even now after the event.....the full release happens in us
like an electric shock out of nowhere
as you said in the blink of a millisecond!

TWO GOATS : PERIOD

I was sharing at a conference centre with Andre Rabe about the 2 GOATS.It was one of those times when you feel something leave you and impact someone/several....not sure. What I do know is Rosie Crawford who is now whizzing round her South African home country asked me to put it down in writing on FB to her. So below this writing is the four or five status Facebook copy, which you can read first or later...or not at all if you want to have some coffee at Starbucks!!
Folks this is huge, I believe. I have just waded through the Heidi Venie podcast messages, which but for the pregnancy tragedy , may just as well be "BOTTLED WELCH" from my rather limited worship leading in Amersham, Germany, Exeter Uni, and Emsworth Church over two decades after my experience of baptism in the Spirit in 1972.

What I'm saying is....the "creatives", the songwriters,the prophetic types,the flaky no earthly good collective, the artists....and I'm temperamentally somewhere in there....are as Darin Hufford has mentioned often....leaving church in their droves. In spiritual terms I call them the tribe of Judah. And when the tribe of Judah break camp, you stop barbecuing right? Even if it's barbecued MANNA. You take notice!!! Or should do.

It is by no means this breed only that know there is something wrong...if anyone is listening attentively I believe the Holy Spirit is unsettling a whole variety of people. It's just the flakies are surface feelies, and they let you know about it immediately. Everyone else has the decorum to shutup longer.

SO WE RECOGNISE THERE IS A PROBLEM! BUT WHAT?


I'm being showered by reader's responses with lots of surface stuff right now....and it probably is true...but not true enough.

Others are holding up their historic hot potatoes at a much deeper level. So it's Arminianism then....no Calvinism.

So it's the way we meet....it should be Quaker....or Darby.....

No, no....it's that we should be pentecostal......or apostolic......or just know our Bibles better like the evangelicals.

It's that we shouldn't go to church......or should go to church.....etc etc etc

What I'm saying now is that the VERY WAY we entered into the WAY OF GOD IS FAULTY. The rather feeble earthly picture of us entering the WAY OF GOD is pictured by the TABERNACLE.

When WAS the last sermon you heard on the 2 GOATS?

And if you are Brethren stock, you will have, but I bet BOTH oF THEM related to "Taking sins away".

So what I'm saying is one was to take sins away, one was to take SIN away. And the rather crushing truth is THE GOATS is by the Admission Office close to the Entrance DOOR.

WE HAVE ALL BOUGHT ENTRANCE TO A CHRISTIANITY THAT ONLY HAS ONE GOAT.

And the crazy thing is we were let in!!!!!!!



So it's not that some are baptized in the Spirit, and some have the theology of Baptism in the spirit (wo, thorny)....no no no.....that is all way past the laver into the Holy Place. No what we have is more crushing than that.



HOW DOES IT AFFECT US?

Well Sylvia Pearce says when we come to have Communion in any church whatsoever.....it's only a 50% event.

Nobody understands or more specifically has revelation on anything more than the BLOOD. To forgive sins.

Doesn't matter how charismatic your church is, or how High episcopalean.....this is equally true of Both.



BUT THIS IS NOT CHRISTIANITY.

Or if you are a Free Believer, you reverse the concept and say IT IS CHRISTIANITY, BUT NOT THE WAY OF CHRIST.

I couldn't care a fat fig about Free Believerisms or denominationalisms

IT IS WHAT IS TRUE IN OUR HEARTS BY THE SPIRIT OF THE LIVING GOD that counts

What I am saying is if you only have one goat, you are condemning the whole of the rest of your Heavenly Tabernacle experience to one limp what Paul would call "menstrual cloth". Rubbish. Dung. Horsepooh.



Why is this relevant? Well you get this happening. You get a Heidi Venie and a Chris Welch being enticed away from true Spirit relationship and outpouring of private intimacy and fresh songs, and you find our" still alive goat" rearing up wanting a bit of recognition and control and stardom.....and hooking into the goat of the pastor /leader group who know they can put their feet up and let the muzos (musicians) entertain the crowd, and already half the service is taken up!!! MAGIC. So what I am saying about Heidi and myself, and a gazillion others is it was SYMBIOTIC this system failure. We can blame others....BUT WE BOUGHT INTO IT.



So what should happen?

It is described below, but let's take bits in slow motion.

The first goat is the absolute, complete for all time forgiveness of what we did, and what we may be doing now, and what we will ever do that is offensive to God. It's a complete death of one whole goat. At the entrance. The first thing you do as a Christian. Sin question . Settled.



The next problem for God is, without resurrecting the first goat, how do you get over that the MAN OF SIN, the SIN PRINCIPLE, the INDWELLING BIAS to SIN, is left behind in hell, by a now empty Body of Jesus after the death on the Cross, with its spirit container opened up, and emptied out in the manner of a rubbish lorry at a waste site, municiipal site......how do you get that over to folk in the middle of a wilderness? Aha!

A second goat. This goat IS NOT to repeat the idea of sins being cast as far as the oceans away from you. You Pentecostals got that wrong.

No this is HUGE! This is what makes Church work! This is what makes Jews even want to come within smelling distance of the tragedy known as Christian Church. This second goat, represents the UTTER annhilation of your sin spirit at your spirit centre. You are a container for spirit, and you have a soul and a body. Your soul and your body have to catch up with what just happened.



But one thing that just happened, is that for the First time in history a set of people larger than ones or twos got themselves thoroughly INITIATED INTO THE NEW COVENANT. Yes for the FIRST TIME. IN every nation that you are reading this.

Not like the Episcopalean church that only talk about the New Covenant, but wouldn't recognise it if the stadium lights were full on. They run this warmed up Jewish affair that neither Jews recognise nor do those born of the Spirit.Neither good for man nor beast.

The Holy Spirit orientated churches wouldn't recognise the New Covenant either, because it has no goat running around tiring out the congregations to the point of breakdown. The charismatic movement needed goats to make it work.



No. I'm announcing something completely radical here. A completely different form of Christianity, which Norman Grubb believed for on his deathbed at 97 or so,15 yearsago.His last of nearly a century of realised successful intercessions.

The Two Goats picture in the OT Tabernacle- to South African Rosie The scapegoat idea in trad. Circles if it is talked about at all is vaguely referred to as another image of forgiveness.God had a real problem with this one as an image and it was the Nearest way He could explain the two aspects of Jesus death without resurrecting the first goat,which would have been tricky every day in the tabernacle don't you think?

On my blog is a great piece by Sylvia Pearce describing the Body and Blood aspects of Jesus death.No denomination and few others "get" anything about the Communion other than the Blood for forgiveness.The first goat goes up in smoke dying in our place,offering its blood.The second goat describes how Jesus went down into Hades or whatever for us to "lose" the sin spirit that has been passed from generation to generation,and leave it at the lost property door of hellWhen Jesus was RAISED bodily,it was the Holy Spirit who raised Him, but even more incredible WE WERE RAISED IN HIM .So since the second goat at the very entrance to Gods house,I am not only forgiven,MY CENTRAL ME Has changed from Satan or Sin spirit- I to Christ-I.

The 2nd goat means it is NOT I (the former diseased spirit) that live it is (a completely different )Christ fused I that live,and the life I live now I live by the power of the FAITH OF (lit. Greek) Christ.So the communion for us is a much much much greater celebration than anyone could have ever imagined.It is both the Blood forgiveness and the Body death replacement of me totally....well my spirit. My heart mind and will and body have to spend a time readjusting to the new reality!!!!



For me,the issue in the church today IS NOT to go out and form a FREE BELIEVERS group,tho I quite understand it.It is NOT to post articles on KUNDULINI(someone today on FB) and familiar spirits,tho you can if you want....the issue is so simple...it is that most of the people in churches today haven't the first clue about what Jesus has done for them in being their 2nd goat.Get that right,no more parachurch FREE believers,No more Kundilini....Only believers 100% clear on their latest IDENTITY!!!!!the rest is totally old fashioned and since the CROSS past its sell by date!!!

Ryan Lawson's Haiti report



Haiti Trip Report - Part V


Towards the end of the night, one of our interpreters pulled me aside and brought me a young man for prayer. The guy standing in front of me was covered in tattoos, had about thirty piercings, with little bits of bone and other stuff stuck in them and he had several amulets hanging around his neck. He looked up at me with some seriously crazy eyes! I could tell by the nature of his trinkets that he was a Voodoo priest. I agreed to pray for him and laid my hands on his head. I called down the fire of God on him and he just stared me straight in the face and smiled. After a moment or two, I grabbed a handful of the amulets hanging around his neck and said, “You are going to have to get rid of these!” When I said that, he let out a nutty laugh and then turned and RAN AWAY! Not walked, not trotted, RAN! My interpreter just shrugged as if to say “What can you do?”

The first night of the crusade was awesome. We came back to the rented house where we were staying totally exhausted, but exhilarated by what Jesus had accomplished. We were eagerly anticipating the second night.


RAINED OUT!
When Pastor Paul picked us up for day two of the crusade, the weather was nasty. The closer we got to the crusade grounds, the worse the weather was with thunder, lightning and heavy rain. I placed a call back home to get our folks praying for the event. Our team stayed in the van praying for the weather to break while it poured on the crusade grounds. The weather didn’t’ let up at all, in fact, it got worse. In spite of the terrible weather, there were still a few hundred people out milling around the field. The crusade grounds backed up to a makeshift tent city and most of these people only had simple stick and sheet shelters to protect them from the sun. They would get just as wet inside the tent as they would in the field and had no real protection from the harsh weather. The band was under a tarp on stage and started to play. So instead of sit inside their tent and get wet, they began to worship as the band played and the singers sang.

The children came out in force and began worshiping with all their heart. Humbled by their commitment, we got out of the van and began to worship the Lord with them. We worshiped the Lord with all our hearts, singing and dancing with the people for 2-3 hours out in a lightning storm! Maybe 1,000 people were out there before all was said and done. Darkness settled in and the stage lights would not work due to the rain, so we worshiped in the dark, illuminated only by the lightning strikes. It was surreal. Thinking back about it though, this was one of the most memorable moments of our trip and the most powerful. Here were these folks who had absolutely nothing materially, yet they possessed everything of value, the Presence of God! We were ruined by their worship.

After praying for all the sick in a very wet fire tunnel, we went home completely soaked and worn out.


THERE ARE WITCHES IN THE MEETING!
The third night was our last night at the crusade and our last night in Haiti. We prayed fervently that day for good weather and an explosion of God’s power. The meeting began like the others, with fervent worship and praise. We were down in the crowd worshiping with the people when a chill ran down the back of my neck and a tingling ran down my spine. Without even turning around I knew that a Voodoo priest was cursing us. I turned around and there he was, about 50 feet away and staring right at me! It was the same guy from the first night of the crusade. He had all the trinkets, earrings, but now he had a little PVC staff with fetishes hanging from it. He looked me right in the eyes and smiled with a wicked grin.

He was there to make things interesting!

I turned and faced him and smiled right back as if to say, “Let’s do this!” I watched him and he began pacing around the crusade grounds. He pulled things out of a little bag on his neck and spread them on the ground. He spit, he urinated, and he made little circles with his feet and was doing all sorts of weird stuff. I scanned the crusade grounds and could spot a couple other Voodoo priests as well. They were pretty easy to spot. While everyone was worshiping, they would stand there motionless and every once in a while do weird stuff with the hands and face. I walked over to where our team was worshiping and said, “There are witches in the meeting, PRAY!” I walked up and stood on the stage with Pastor Paul to scan the crowd.






Healed of Rheumatoid Arthritis!



OPEN HEAVENS!
Worship took off! The presence of God rolled in like a cloud and people praised and worshiped with all of their heart. Pastor Paul broke the moment to introduce the team from our church and they all told testimonies of God’s power to heal, save and deliver. He then brought up a gentleman we had prayed for several days before. He testified that he had severe rheumatoid arthritis in his legs and knees and for the last 3 years had received cortisone shots EVERY DAY! He had been in severe pain for years and was totally healed when we prayed for him!

Come on Jesus!

After telling testimonies, Pastor Paul took us through the huge crowd, praying for many people in his church that needed healing and deliverance. A group of about 15 women that were being terrorized in their sleep by demons received deliverance instantly. Wherever we went, people would reach out to touch our clothes and would grab our hands and put them on their bodies for prayer. I was getting totally messed up in the Holy Ghost and for a while totally forgot about the witches in the meeting. We were all done praying for the select folks from his church and made our way back to the stage. There was a guy standing next to the stage in a striped shirt and a big afro. When I walked by, he made all these weird hand gestures at me like he was doing kung-fu. In my Holy Ghost inebriated state I thought, “I need to whack him in the face with my hanky!” He just looked like he needed a good hanky whacking! So I stood there for a minute and hit him in the face with my hanky again and again. I walked away and thought nothing more of it.



The Presence of God in Worship!



THE REST OF THE STORY
The meeting was amazing. The presence of God rolled in during worship and you could feel the glory of God settle across the people. We encouraged folks to reach out and receive their healing and the life of God. We preached a very simple message of the Kingdom, brought many more people to the Lord and then prayed for the sick.

It was glorious.

But the best part was when we were back at the house for the night, sharing with one another all that Jesus did during the crusade. Pastor Paul very simply stated that the best part for him was the prominent witch doctor that came to the Lord that night. We stopped him and said, “Excuse me? What witch doctor?” He then told us of this evil witch doctor that was known throughout the region for killing and maiming many people through his voodoo. He was very powerful, feared and well known throughout the region. I asked him, “Well, who was he?” Thinking it was maybe my buddy with the PVC staff. He said, “Oh, you don’t know? I thought for sure you knew who it was!” I said, “I have no idea, who was it?!”

Pastor Paul told me that when we had gone through the crowd and headed back up to the stage he looked down and saw me standing in front of this witch doctor. I was standing in front of him, hitting him in the face with my hanky! It was the guy I was popping with my hanky on the side of the stage! When Pastor Paul saw me hitting him in the face, he looked down and his hands were shaking. Knowing who this guy was, he feared for my life! But I had no clue! I just thought he was a weirdo that needed a smack in the face with a hanky! Ignorance is sometimes bliss you know… Whatever happened in that moment, I don’t know, but what I do know is that this evil, powerful witch doctor came forward at the altar all and gave his life to Jesus that night!

Sep 09, 2010Heidi, I cried when you were talking about your abuse by that church and losing your child and not being cared for by your husband and church. It pisses me off that you were not taken care of, and you put it well when you describe it as "rape." No wonder this is still raw to you. To my sorrow I also abandoned my wife and kids for ministry many times and for many years working at a Bible school/church. I pray that God continue to heal the hurt and bless you with his love. My family and I are still walking through the healing process of so many yrs. of abuse that totally changed us and left us bleeding and dying. Thank you Heidi for having the courage to speak out and thank you Darin for the presenting a "safe" place for people to speak. When you receive criticisms just remember all of us out here who are finding our heart and voice from sharing this journey w/ you.

Sep 13, 2010Heidi I'm sure you will receive a lot of flack from your old church for doing this, but rest assure that many more people will be helped by this. When I stood up and gave my story, my pastor called me a liar and the people in my church acted like I was a pagan satan worshipper. 6 years later most of those people have left that church and contacted me to thank me because what I did, set the pace for them. I think pastors wouldn't do half of the stuff they do if they knew for sure that people would talk. You go girl. Thanks.

Oct 16, 2010I could so totally relate with many of the things that Heidi described; former worship leader, etc. -- many of the "performance points" were unspoken rules, observed and mimicked by others . . . i.e. you have to somewhat follow the model, even if you're different. You can't coax folks to worship, if they are not feeling it ... the "song selection" was always a pain, it had to be just perfect. There were some brilliant moments of "corporate worship or praise" but not enough.

Oct 18, 2010Lots and lots to chew on... woow weeeee!! :) Been having the same conversations you guys with my hub.. what does it look like now? Can I share what might seem like a really silly picture? I totally dig that movie The Matrix... and more and more religion represents the Matrix to me. So my question to God has been, "Do You send people back into the Matrix, to offer the message of freedom, grace, and the Father's heart?" I wonder if there ARE those that have the grace and the love in their hearts to go and, in a sense, be freedom fighters and go in and share freedom with people that are ready for that message. I have been asking God about that one.. A person that is like a Neo or a Trinity that knows the system, but isn't a part of the system. I don't know. Just some ideas popping around in my head. In my walking this area out, I have come to a huge revelation that I am created to connect with God and people through music. I thrive in it.. I adore it... it so moves me in deep ways.

Oct 18, 2010Music IS such a powerful vehicle! And personally, I have been on the hunt for "freedom" music. Music of grace, of unconditional love, of being included and in complete relationship with God, of Christ dwelling within, and walking that out.. I have so so wanted that and been seeking that out for myself. And I think it would be so amazing for artists, and worship leaders to begin to write songs in the midst of their journeys to freedom in Christ... in the wild. How cool that would be? Aimz, I loved what you shared about that No Condemnation song being an anchor... music is so that for me too. I can listen to a particular song and it brings back floods of memories and feelings of when I first heard it, you know? Anywho, Darin, Heid, and Aimz.. you 3 have totally rattled me, and got some gears churning.. thankyou for sharing.. love you guys so much!

Oct 19, 2010I thought it was a great point that worship can be expressed in many ways and I could really relate to Darin’s comment about sermons being worship for him. Although I was never a pastor, thoughts and concepts come alive as I verbalize them so I’ve always enjoyed teaching and public speaking. Writing and music just don’t satisfy that inward desire for me and, since I rarely have face to face contact with other free believers, I always tend to feel bottled up. As a result, when I do finally get a chance to talk to someone who knows where I’m coming from, it all comes out at one time and I tend to talk non-stop. Heidi said that she didn’t know if she’s ever going to have a chance to worship as she had before and I’ve come to the same conclusion. Part of me feels very lost because I can’t worship in the way I was created and it’s possible I may never be able to. That’s still hard for me to accept but it is what it is so I do what I can even though I always feel somewhat unsatisfied.

Oct 19, 2010I wasn't a worship leader, but was the go-to person for the lastest Christian music. I would make mix cds of songs that spoke to my heart and share them with whoever wanted them in my church and elsewhere. Occasionally I would play a song that was on my heart during a service. Music was huge in my life and still is...for me it expresses what is deep in my heart that I am not able to put into words. I encourage Heidi and whoever else has it on their hearts to make music that is full of hope and freedom. This kind of music is needed! Like Heidi, as I read over things I wrote while still in religion, I find His love and freedom underneath the confusion and despair. My heart knew there had to be something more to this life with Him, but I couldn't find it where I was at. Not until I left it all behind, did I find who He really is. It has been very healing to hear your story Heidi...thank you so much for sharing it.

Too much process? Jane Fonda and Derek Prince



In the 80s many of us bought and even used Jane Fonda's Exercise videos. Many of the practices on these videos have now been outlawed by health authorities, or at the very least modified.
How humbling....how used....we felt...when we discovered the true reason that was driving Jane Fonda's "Feel the Burn". It turned out that she had bulimia. A whole generation was copying a woman who was secretly fuelled in her intensity by a complete disorder.

Why mention this? Sometimes it is so difficult as we delve into each others lives as Christians to work out when there is just "too much process" going on. Two of us were writing to each other about a subject on Facebook, and my friend described some of the hoops he goes through in finding the Presence of God. And I thought.....hmmm....how much of that is just too much process!!!!

A bit like Jane Fonda then, we learn that no small amount of Derek Prince's highly exotic output concerning
Curses
Spiritual Warfare
Demonology
may have been simply that......too much process. Or was it all ordained by God just that we as a Church would be a lot more switched on to spiritual realities concerning our warfare?
What a great verse it is : Submit to God,resist the devil and he will flee.


What is submit to God? Well my answer now is not very pentecostal. A Pentecostal sees "separation". He sees this separate person that is him, coming before this "out there" God, and adopting a submissive attitude or pose.


Now I see submit to God much more in terms of reversing Genesis 3.


Laying down the whole baloney about being a "separate empowered" being, which it turns out is a delusion, since in the moment we operate in this lie, we are really being empowered by the devil's lying spirit of arrogance, and we aren't in fact separate at all.


But now, submitting to God is seeing God for who He is


The ONLY TRUE LIFE IN THE UNIVERSE


and the life I now live from ,since asking Jesus into my life.




The second strand that occurred in Genesis 3 is that humans now believe complete and utter balderdash concerning the very NATURE and CHARACTER of the Father. As we begin to get revelation on how wonderful God the Father really is.....scales drop from our eyes.


WE SEE GOD ONLY.


WE see everything in relation to Him and His loving plan.
This is what happened to Derek Prince shortly before his death.

In these endtimes, before a major spiritual reformation hits the earth, there will first be a deeper revelation of the heart of the Father that breaks the orphan spirit on the earth today. This is not an automatic product of salvation. Unless our orphan heart is displaced by the revelation of Father's love, even as Christians we can end up battling oppression every day of our lives. Such was the experience of the late Derrick Prince.
Eighty Years Finding HomeDerek Prince was arguably one of the greatest Christian leaders and evangelists of the 20th century His evangelistic crusades routinely drew tens of thousands of people to each meeting. Across more than 50 years of ministry, he saw millions of people saved, filled with the Holy Spirit, healed of diseases, and delivered of demonic oppression. Few Christian leaders of the last century
established ministries as credible and anointed of the Lord as his. Yet, by his own admission, Derek Prince himself battled demonic oppression every day of his life until he was 80 years old. Millions were set free under his ministry, yet he himself could not find freedom from the oppression that dogged him on a daily basis. It took nothing less than a powerful personal experiential revelation of Father God's love to set him free once and for all. Here is the story in his own words, as appeared in his February 1998 newsletter:
My understanding of God was revolutionized by a personal experience in 1996. Ruth and I had been sitting up in bed one morning praying together as we normally do, and I became aware of a powerful force at work in my feet and lower legs, and it moved upward until my whole body was forcibly shaken by it. Ruth told me later that the skin on my face changed to a deep red, but at the same time I was aware of an arm stretched out towards my head, seeking to press down something like a black skull cap upon me.
For a few moments there was a conflict between these two forces, then the power at work in my body prevailed, and the arm with the skull cap was forcibly taken away and vanished. Immediately, without any mental process of reasoning, I knew that I could now call God my Father. I had used the phrase "our Father" for more than 50 years. Doctrinally I was clear about this truth; I'd even preached a series of three messages on knowing God as Father, but what I received at that moment was a direct personal revelation.
Let me share with you my interpretation of this experience. I was born in India, and spent the first five years of my life there. Twenty years later, after I was saved and baptized in the Holy Spirit, I became aware of some dark shadow from India that always hung over me. I understood it was one of India's gods that had followed me through life, seeking to oppress me. There was one particular way that this god oppressed me. Every morning I would awake with a dark foreboding of something evil awaiting me. It was never anything precise, just some amorphous darkness. This unknown evil never actually happened, but every day the foreboding was there.
After I was baptized in the Holy Spirit the foreboding diminished in intensity, but it never disappeared. I did, however, discover that if I set my mind to praise and worship, the foreboding would lift from me, yet it always came hack the next morning.










Can you identify with Derek's experience? How many times have you gotten up in the morning feeling like you don't have a home, that there is so little expressed love, little comfort, conditional acceptance, and a diminishing hope for experiencing lasting peace and rest? You feel a sense of oppression, a sense of foreboding, a sense of impending disaster. Most mornings you face another day of pain, another day of fear, another day of people saying all the wrong things about you, another day of not measuring up in the eyes of the people who matter to you the most, another day of wondering whether or not you will survive.
How do you go on living like that? How do you go on, knowing that tomorrow you have to get up and do battle with all of it again? Is not the cross of Christ more powerful than the darkness we have to fight our way through every day? This has nothing to do with salvation but everything to do with experiencing and understanding Father God's love.
Continuing his story, Derek says:
The day that black skull cap was pulled away the foreboding vanished, never to return, and from that morning it became completely natural for me to now address God as Father, or my Father. I now have a personal relationship, not just a theological position. I've been enjoying this new relationship for about two years.
Ever since I was saved I have believed that if I continued faithful to the Lord, I will go to heaven when I die, but I never really thought of heaven as my home. After that arm with the black skull cap was taken away, however, it has now become natural to view heaven as my home. Shortly afterwards I said to Ruth, "When I die, if you want to give me a tombstone you can just write on it two words: Gone Home "

Derek's experience illustrates the truth that it is one thing to know God as Father, but another thing to experience Him as Father in a deeply personal way.



Although Derek Prince was born again, filled with the Holy Spirit, and powerfully anointed and effective in ministry for over 50 years, until he was 80 he still had an orphan heart and battled oppression every day.



John the apostle, in the first of his three letters, clearly separates knowing from believing: "We have come to know and have believed the love which God has for us..." (1 John 4:16a NAS). It is easy to believe in our minds that God loves us, but like Derek Prince we can live our entire lives never knowing that love in our hearts in a deeply personal experiential way
Don't Wait 'Til You "Go Home" to Go HomeEven as Christians we can live—and die—with an orphan heart. Many, unfortunately, do just that. It almost happened to Derek Prince. Had it not been for his profound experience in Father's love in 1996 when he was 80 years old, he might well have finished his days on earth without ever truly feeling like a son in his Father's house.
You don't have to wait 'til you "go home" to experience a homecoming-, you can enter that place of rest, refuge, and safety right now. Jesus said, "I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly" (John 10:10b NAS). Abundant life means a fulfilled, satisfying life here on earth as well as eternal life in Heaven, and a fulfilled life means displacing the orphan heart with a heart of sonship.
Jesus Christ came from the Father and after His resurrection, returned to the Father so that we too may abide in Father's embrace. John, in fact, says that He "is in the bosom of the Father" (John 1: l8b NAS). That phrase speaks of deep intimacy, unity, and oneness. And where Jesus is, He wants us to be also.
